The shed has an easy to use composting toilet with clear instructions if you’re a first timer. Also, this IS a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, but don’t bop your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows. Everything is washed with free and clear detergent for sensitivities.
We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove, coffee supplies (keurig pods,pour over coffee with creamer/sugar), wine opener, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors.
One block away is Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. A mile north, explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. 2 blocks south is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has breweries, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, and plenty of coffee shops/restaurants.

Private, serene just off SR 2... 3 cabins and 2 RV's...these cabins are called Glamping cabins...that's glorified camping 🏕️ all surrounded by gorgeous mountain views and located along the north side of the Southfork Skykomish River. Most sites offer views of the river, with some looking through the trees and others enjoying wide-open vistas.
Porta potties, communal kitchen and fire pits. 🔥Dish and hand washing stations and The RV's have indoor bathrooms with running water 💦 no showers. 🚿 all cabins are BYO Bedding and they all have a queen size bed. Best for 2 people but some units have room for one or two more depending on if you bring sleeping mats. ( we can provide blow up mattress or pad and bedding/sleeping bags for extra fee)
All units are about 100 ft apart with nice privacy. The Toy Hauler is close to the Chalet Cabin... and that unit is only available if The Chalet guests want more room or the nice bathroom . 🏕️

The ‘Little Rustic Red Cabin’ site offers an in-ground heart shaped fire pit as well as a picnic table for outdoor dining. Inside the 358 sq ft cabin is a wood stove that heats the place up nicely. The cabin sleeps 4, offering one Queen size bed and one queen futon in the living room that faces a smart t.v. utilizing Starlink Internet. The kitchen offers all of your kitchen needs(minus running water from the faucet).
Also, in the cabin you’ll find a smart speaker to hook up to, two African djembe drums, a ukulele and an Australian didgeridoo. Let your musical side come on out!
Note:
There is no running water on site or septic system. Bring your own drinking water or filter from the river. Water is available in town as well. A porta potty is centered between the camping site and the cabin site.
Generously portioned bundles of firewood including kindling are for purchase located under the cute A-frame structure near outhouse.
Bring your food, water, camp chairs, bug spray, swimsuits, water toys and all your essentials for having a lovely camping and outdoor experience in one of the most beautiful areas of Washington State.
Enjoy the lovely walking trails on the back 3 acres of the property. Please take your trash and recycle and clean up after your doggies. Secure your food items so as to not attract wildlife or bears. Be safe in the river. Have fun!

The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. Welcome to Rainier Explorer Cabin in beautiful Packwood, the gateway to Mount Rainier National Park and home to White Pass Ski Resort! This stylish retreat is the perfect home base for all your mountain adventures. The large deck features a 4 person hot tub w/ gazebo and outdoor seating, and leads to the lighted wooded pathway to the firepit. The chabin-chic interior has been newly updated and features an electric fireplace for added coziness! River access is a 5 min walk away as well.
This petite yet well laid out space has everything you need to enjoy your trip to the mountains, including a variety of board games and dvds, comfortable and stylish furnishings, a well stocked newly remodeled kitchen, brand new 4 person hot tub with gazebo, outdoor firepit, and more! The cabin is located in High Valley Country club and is a 5 minute drive to downtown Packwood, 10 miles from the Mount Rainier National park entrance, 20 minutes to White Pass Ski Resort, and is the gateway to Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Goat Rocks Wilderness. The property is heavily treed within the scenic neighborhood. Currently, the property is not fenced and neighbors are visible in the fashion of a regular neighborhood (cabin is not alone in the middle of the woods please note) a wood privacy fence will be added before summer, but currently the neighbor to the left is in very close proximity though the neighboring cabin is vacant during the winter.

We loved staying at Cedar River Cabin! Very comfortable for 2 adults and 3 kids. Everything was as expected plus more. Trail nearby, plenty of wildlife, whimsy, and beautiful scenery made us feel full of gratitude. Highly recommend!

Perfect little cabin. Quaint by cozy. Would stay again but one thing to note is there is hot water showers listed, however it only lasted for about 1 minute. Not a problem if you stay during the warm summer months, but during the chilly fall months it’s worth knowing

We absolutely loved our stay here! My fiancé and I stayed after he proposed to me at the park, and it was the perfect private and beautiful place to celebrate such a special moment.
We wanted to camp and have an off-the-grid experience, and this stay gave us exactly the peaceful, secluded feel we were looking for while still being incredibly comfortable. The hosts were amazing, kind and welcoming, and made the whole experience even better.

Weekend Trip to Alder Grove Retreat
Had a really restful and restorative weekend in this little cabin! Dawson was super chill, got a couple things in need of fixing done quick, and was very respectful about privacy. The sauna was great and a really nice add-on since it was an extremely rainy weekend. The cabin smelled like fresh wood (love!) and everything was functional, but not perfect or precious, which is where the real relaxation happens for me. It was an easy, low-barrier destination for a solo trip where all I really wanted was deep decompression within four cozy walls, and it definitely delivered!

Had a great stay! After camping in Olympic NP, we stayed three nights before heading straight to Mt. Rainier SP. We ended up staying and enjoying the place more than expected, since we're usually constantly on the go exploring. It was a great experience, and we would love to come back.

Andrea is amazing. She is very welcoming and the place is wonderful.
There is alot of thought put into each cabin, rv etc, we felt like we found a goldmine!! The view was beautiful, and all the lighting was perfect!! The river was a 2 minute walk. The bathrooms were so clean and accessible!!
And dont forget the Sandbar tavern!! Great beer and atmosphere! We were so excited they had cribbage boards!!!

This forest retreat was adorable! Cedar River has everything you need to have a good time from string lights to the trail nearby. Site felt secluded with plenty of us to set up tents alongside the cabin. We especially loved the bonus experience of live music and food up at the main house for the Forest Session with Kurt Lindsay. Definitely worth it.

Our first Hipcamp experience and it was amazing! My favorite things about the site was the river and easy access to it, the forest and little trails, the privacy and the location is ideal. My favorite things about the cabin was how clean and comfortable the bed was, how clean inside and no bugs, the comfy futons, the convenience of everything supplied and the wood stove. The host was responsive and nice, clearly they love their little house. We'd had a reservation at another site but they had to cancel and I'm so glad it worked out the way it did. It was rainy and cold but we were toasty and happy until the sun came back. Perfect little camping spot for the PNW!

Cedar River Cabin was just what we needed to ring in the last weekend of summer! The hosts are amazing and were very patient with my pregnancy brain messing up the code to get into the cabin 😂. The land is beautiful and they have everything you could need! I packed way too much! Brittany really takes care of her guests. My dogs loved the property too! There was no shortage of sniffing for them! We can’t wait to come back as a family of 4!

As the property manager and host for The Legacy Basecamp, I wanted to experience the space firsthand and it truly delivered. While I manage the bookings and guest experience rather than stewarding this incredible land long-term, staying here gave me a full appreciation for what makes this spot so special.
There is plenty of open space for the family to run around, play, and unwind. One of our favorite details was hearing the faint whistle of the train passing in the distance,it adds such a classic, peaceful touch to the woods. The large covered outdoor space was a lifesaver for escaping the midday heat, and it will clearly be the ultimate cozy refuge once the fall and winter rains set in.
Between the fully equipped indoor kitchen and the versatile outdoor cooking setups, meal prep was effortless with tons of options. After full days outside, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and everything we needed was right at hand. We left feeling completely refreshed.
