located on the scenic Chuckanut Drive. It is a 15 minute walk to Taylor United's Seafood Bar that has beer and wine. You will need boots just below the knee, or hiking shoes that will get wet. The Creek crossing is a little deeper this year. You will also be crossing a muddy area for about 20 yards, you will sink about 3 inches into the mud. The hike into the campsite takes 12 minutes. You need to contact me to check the tides, as to be able to get to the campsite. We need to hike in below a 5 foot tide. Starting October, the campsite closes for winter. Again , this campsite is Tide dependent. The first question to me should be, What is the latest we can hike in? I am not Moses, I can’t part the sea. Camp closed during winter October/ march

ACTIVITIES
Other activities include local trails for hiking and biking, close proximity to Port Townsend, town beach and waterfront and a short drive to the Olympic National forest.
FOOD
This year, due to positive feedback, we are increasing our offering of a full course Chuckwagon dinner, two person minimum, paid for when you book your campsite. You can select from smoked pulled pork, BBQ chicken, Smoked ribs or the vegetarian selection, baked spaghetti squash stuffed with a blend of marinara, roasted zucchini, yellow squash and bell peppers, topped with parmesan cheese. Sides served with the dinner include roasted corn on the cob ( in season), potato salad, homemade Horseshoe beans, corn bread and blackberry cobbler . You provide the beverage. Guests meander over to the cook tent at about 6 pm and enjoy dinner seated around tables and chairs complete with plates, cups and silverware. Dinner is served by reservation only on Saturday nights. Dinner is $30.00 per person. 24 hour advance notice required so your food is always fresh.

THE PROPERTY
Just what is Cowboy Camp, you might ask. The traditional definition refers to sleeping outside under the stars with only a bedroll, a fire and the night sky for companions. But if you are a fan of the western genre and lifestyle, you might also know it as a place to go to hang out with like minded folks and experience the Cowboy lifestyle. This includes all people, men and women alike, as the term "Cowboy" is largely generic and not gender oriented. A taste of that lifestyle is what we are offering here at our Cowboy Camp.
HORSES
It wouldn't be Cowboy Camp without horses and they are definitely present. They can be heard whinnying at mealtimes and throughout the day as they keep in touch with each other. They are generally quiet at night. Horses are not allowed in camping areas when campers are present. No farm would be complete without chickens and ours is no exception. A few hens can generally be seen wandering around the barn searching for bugs, We do not have a rooster, so guests can sleep peacefully.
We are offering camping sites ranging from simple tent sites with fire ring, picnic table and soft sandy tent sites to small cabin type tents with beds and electricity.
As part of your cowboy camp experience you can sign up for a horsemanship lesson involving handling and grooming horses and time spent working with the horse in the round pen. (There is no actual riding such as a trail ride offered at this time, we are working on that). You can also sign up for a roping lesson. Learn to throw a loop and catch "Little blue", our roping dummy steer head.
HIKES AND BIKES
We also have games of horseshoes ( with real horseshoes) and corn hole boards. You can take a hike around the property on our trail through mature Douglas fir and majestic Western cedar forest.
A 1/4 mile walk down our quiet country gravel road will take you to the 80 acre Jefferson County Land trust forest with several beautiful trails meandering through mature uncut forest. These trails are suitable for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. That forest further connects to the Cappy's trail system, a network of several miles of trails that will wind around and eventually lead into Port Townsend itself if you choose to venture into town.
Or you can choose to travel via mountain bike or foot approximately one mile down the road to the DNR forest property that will lead you through more gorgeous wooded and open areas to access the Larry Scott trail, a 7.3 mile out and back firm surface multi-use trail that leads either out of town through the woods or to the north directly into Port Townsend along the scenic waterfront.
Our beautiful piece of property is comprised of almost 11 acres situated on the northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula just outside the quaint Victorian seaport town of Port Townsend. It lies approximately 4 miles from downtown with its many art galleries, restaurants, shops, boat harbor, farmer's market and the historic Rose theater.
The farm itself is located within a section of old growth forest comprised of 100 year old Doug Firs, cedar trees and alder groves. There is an open pasture area in the center of the property, which is ringed completely by thick stands of forest, so it feels completely private. You have to look closely to see the neighboring two houses through the forest.
The horses are excluded from camping areas during your visit, and will most likely be housed on neighboring property while guests are present. No need to worry about curious horses coming into your campsite to say hello.
It is a wildlife paradise with frequent visits from local deer, bald eagles, ducks on the pond, owls nesting in the trees, and coyotes travelling through.
The frog pond is alive all night with singing. If you are a light sleeper you might consider earplugs.
We have created a walking trail through the forest around the land that is full of the sounds of life and birds. A pileated woodpecker makes its home in the back corner and two pairs of barred owls also inhabit the nearby Douglas firs. They can be heard at night calling out as they settle in for the evening.
An important note for the walking explorer, please be aware that many areas of the farm are in their natural state. This means you might encounter prickly plants such as star thistle, nettles and tansy ragwort. We are happy to identify these for you if you are unfamiliar with them. Please be aware and dress in long pants and long sleeves while hiking. There are no poisonous snakes present in this region.
We train horses here so there is a full size riding arena and training round pen. On any given day, you might see horses being trained and ridden.
MORE ABOUT THE FOOD
At the end of your day of adventures, you can opt to sign up ( when your site is booked) for a delicious feast at Cowboy Camp. Using old time traditional Dutch oven cooking techniques and slow smoking methods, meals are comprised of such items as slow cooked smoked pork shoulder or ribs, Dutch oven baked "Horseshoe Beans" ( a crowd favorite), fire roasted corn on the cob (in season) , homemade potato salad, green spinach salad, and of course dessert such as homemade blackberry cobbler or pineapple upside down cake. Vegetarian selections are also available upon request.
ADVENTURES CLOSE BY
Venturing out from the farm you can sign up to go on a whale watching excursion with Puget Sound Express out of Port Townsend. Seeing a whale is guaranteed or you get a free return trip.
Also, the Olympic National Park is only a short one hour drive to the west and the view from Hurricane Ridge is not to be missed.

Property owners Karma and Rick come with a long extensive history of experience in the horse industry and western culture. Together they share over 100 years of experience with horses, both having ridden since young children.
Karma loves sharing her knowledge of horses and horsemanship with others and has been a certified riding instructor for many years.
Rick grew up with a horse and cattle background from a young age. As a young man he competed in the rodeo sports of bareback broncs, calf roping, bull riding and team roping. He then worked as a professional farrier, horse trainer and ranch employee in Texas. He learned the art of Texas BBQ cooking while living and working on Texas ranches.
He loves to cook for others and enjoys sharing tales of the ranch life.
You can choose to be as involved as you like during your visit. You can sit quietly in the forest and just enjoy peace and quiet if you so desire. We will not bother you. Our goal is simply to provide you with a beautiful place to relax, play, and enjoy during your visit.

The forest clean-up project has concluded, and replanting has already been done. The property is not as it was before, and it will take time to be in a desirable state; however, if you are interested in having a safe base camp for your travels and don't mind the current status, I would be happy to discuss accommodating you.
04/20/2024 Update:
We have been patiently waiting for a forest clean-up logging project to begin, and it has officially started. Our property has a large number of dying trees, so this is necessary to ensure the overall forest health. However, it will unavoidably disrupt the look of the property for many years to come. We will be replanting next February.
For those who wish to use the property only as a safe base camp near mountain biking trails, I’ll happily invite you to stay, but if you’re looking for a picturesque forest setting, you’ll want to check back in with us in a couple of years.

This 21-acre forest with a large beaver pond is classified as a class-A wetland. In addition to this, you can find a shallow creek, beaver dams, old growth forest, and a phenomenal bird habitat. Find privacy and quiet except for the songs of many birds and woodpeckers. The property is minutes away from Blanchard Mountain Trail head. There are numerous biking and hiking trails within a short distance, and while we aren't yet at the point of building trails here at the property, that will be coming shortly.
This property was once a show home, but a fire occurred over 10 years ago and the house was not rebuilt. While the remaining ruins are minimal, it sets an exciting backdrop; perhaps it can be the scene for a mysterious photo shoot. We have been actively working on cleaning up the property, but there are occasional spots where we find leftover fire debris that the previous occupant scattered throughout the property. If you find such a spot during your stay, please let us know.
Within the property is a small orchard with apples, blueberries, blackberries, grapes, and plumbs. While you are welcome to graze during your stay, we ask that you not harvest a great deal to ensure enough for everyone to enjoy.
There are fish in the pond, and though fishing is allowed, we can not claim what type or ease due to the nature of the plant growth. It is not stocked and is only fed by the area's waterways.
I have been asked several times if the fire ban is still active. Yes, it is. There is no longer access to a hose, so being able to quickly put out a fire in case of an accident is also more concerning. Sadly, with the last several years of intense summers, our area is likely going to be at risk of drought again this summer.
If you are interested in reserving the entire property for a completely secluded stay, please contact me directly. That option is $175 for a party of up to 20 individuals, but no more than 2 camper vans/RVs and four additional cars per night.

Delicious drinking water is available on site. A large ss sink is situated right next to the garden. No hot water is available, but you can always heat some on your cook stove.

Skagit Valley is such a beautiful area with so much to explore in every direction. We have a lot of visitors that just want to escape the city for a moment and relax in nature under a big beautiful starlit sky. We also have outdoor enthusiasts that come for specific destinations such as Mount Galbraith, many different hiking trails, bird watching just past the adorable little towns of Bow and Edison, Deception Pass, scenic Chuckanut drive bringing you to the fun and happening city of Bellingham.
Skagit Speedway is popular for many (you’ll hear some Vroom Vrooms and fireworks my camper friends as we are just a couple miles from that kind of fun).
I highly recommend trying true, LOCAL food from North 40 Farm Store which is 10 minutes down the way located off F&S Grade Road where you can find natural grass fed Black Angus beef, pork, milk, eggs, bread and more! Experience the difference.
A little starter bundle of firewood will be provided for each site and more available for purchase if you won’t be bringing your own and would rather not purchase from a gas station.
Doggies are most definitely welcome.😊 Very Important–We have free range ducks and other animals that must NOT be chased. Off-leash doggies are welcome on the walking trails and down at the river only. 'Close calls' are no fun for anyone and we've had them. Enjoy your stay!

June Bud Farms was established in 1960s.
Blending two single parents, each with 4 kids. While June & Bud raised 8 kids, they collected Registered Holsteins for their quaint dairy. As the Dairy grew to 110 acres home to 120 heifers', they soon had to add an additional milking parlor. From milking 4 cows to a staggering 12 at once, Bud made the paper for the cutting edge technology!
As time marches on, the kids all grown, the little farm retired. Fast forward to 2020, its time to breath new life into this stout and sturdy barn. Retreat to relax at Chuckanut Hills Farm and Campground, a 20-acre energy-regenerative, off-grid family farm nestled at the foot of Anderson Mountain and surrounded by thousands of acres of forest. 30 minutes south of Bellingham in the Chuckanut Mountains, the only finger of the Cascade Mountain Range that reaches all the way
to the Salish Sea.
This wooded forest is part of the Puget Lowland Forest Eco-Region. These hills were the native home of the Saquantch people, a Salish coast tribe that fished and hunted the mountains surrounding Lake Whatcom. They lived in long lodge homes and were later pushed out by the invading Lummi Tribe. The Lummi Tribe was later pushed out by Western logging companies, and the entire mountainous region was heavily logged for a number of years.
Where our farm now rests was once the second of many logging camps built by Ed English, and he cut our gravel farm road in 1900; a railroad ran through the lower part of our property, taking logs from Lake Whatcom down to the little boom town of Seattle.
Our intention while being caretakers of this ancestral land is to restore native plants, raise heirloom produce and heritage animals, and provide a restful nature paradise for people looking to spend time in the outdoors.

.Our 16 acre private riverfront property is located on the Dungeness River just outside the city of Sequim in Clallam County on the Olympic Peninsula. There are just two very large campsites. Each site can accommodate two RV’s or just a bunch of tents. You will have full access to the parcel allowing you to explore or just hang out at the river. We are pet friendly. Well behaved dogs can be off leash this vacation.
The nearest towns are Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Victoria B.C., Just minutes from Sequim you’ll find restaurants, wineries and grocery stores.
The nearest attractions are Olympic National Park, Hurricane Ridge, Olympic Discovery Trail, Ferry Dock to Victoria B.C., Lake Crescent, and Hoh Rainforest where you can enjoy activities such as: boating, fishing, wildlife viewing, winter activities, hiking, biking, etc. Also, you can ride directly from the campsite to some fabulous mountain biking trails at Dungeness Trails.

FOOD
This year, due to positive feedback, we are increasing our offering of a full course Chuckwagon dinner, two person minimum, paid for when you book your campsite. You can select from smoked pulled pork, BBQ chicken, Smoked ribs or the vegetarian selection, baked spaghetti squash stuffed with a blend of marinara, roasted zucchini, yellow squash and bell peppers, topped with parmesan cheese. Sides served with the dinner include roasted corn on the cob ( in season), potato salad, homemade Horseshoe beans, corn bread and blackberry cobbler . You provide the beverage. Guests meander over to the cook tent at about 6 pm and enjoy dinner seated around tables and chairs complete with plates, cups and silverware. Dinner is served by reservation only on Saturday nights. Dinner is $30.00 per person. 24 hour advance notice required so your food is always fresh.

THE PROPERTY
Just what is Cowboy Camp, you might ask. The traditional definition refers to sleeping outside under the stars with only a bedroll, a fire and the night sky for companions. But if you are a fan of the western genre and lifestyle, you might also know it as a place to go to hang out with like minded folks and experience the Cowboy lifestyle. This includes all people, men and women alike, as the term "Cowboy" is largely generic and not gender oriented. A taste of that lifestyle is what we are offering here at our Cowboy Camp.
HORSES
It wouldn't be Cowboy Camp without horses and they are definitely present. They can be heard whinnying at mealtimes and throughout the day as they keep in touch with each other. They are generally quiet at night. Horses are not allowed in camping areas when campers are present. No farm would be complete without chickens and ours is no exception. A few hens can generally be seen wandering around the barn searching for bugs, We do not have a rooster, so guests can sleep peacefully.
We are offering camping sites ranging from simple tent sites with fire ring, picnic table and soft sandy tent sites to small cabin type tents with beds and electricity.
As part of your cowboy camp experience you can sign up for a horsemanship lesson involving handling and grooming horses and time spent working with the horse in the round pen. (There is no actual riding such as a trail ride offered at this time, we are working on that). You can also sign up for a roping lesson. Learn to throw a loop and catch "Little blue", our roping dummy steer head.
HIKES AND BIKES
We also have games of horseshoes ( with real horseshoes) and corn hole boards. You can take a hike around the property on our trail through mature Douglas fir and majestic Western cedar forest.
A 1/4 mile walk down our quiet country gravel road will take you to the 80 acre Jefferson County Land trust forest with several beautiful trails meandering through mature uncut forest. These trails are suitable for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. That forest further connects to the Cappy's trail system, a network of several miles of trails that will wind around and eventually lead into Port Townsend itself if you choose to venture into town.
Or you can choose to travel via mountain bike or foot approximately one mile down the road to the DNR forest property that will lead you through more gorgeous wooded and open areas to access the Larry Scott trail, a 7.3 mile out and back firm surface multi-use trail that leads either out of town through the woods or to the north directly into Port Townsend along the scenic waterfront.
Our beautiful piece of property is comprised of almost 11 acres situated on the northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula just outside the quaint Victorian seaport town of Port Townsend. It lies approximately 4 miles from downtown with its many art galleries, restaurants, shops, boat harbor, farmer's market and the historic Rose theater.
The farm itself is located within a section of old growth forest comprised of 100 year old Doug Firs, cedar trees and alder groves. There is an open pasture area in the center of the property, which is ringed completely by thick stands of forest, so it feels completely private. You have to look closely to see the neighboring two houses through the forest.
The horses are excluded from camping areas during your visit, and will most likely be housed on neighboring property while guests are present. No need to worry about curious horses coming into your campsite to say hello.
It is a wildlife paradise with frequent visits from local deer, bald eagles, ducks on the pond, owls nesting in the trees, and coyotes travelling through.
The frog pond is alive all night with singing. If you are a light sleeper you might consider earplugs.
We have created a walking trail through the forest around the land that is full of the sounds of life and birds. A pileated woodpecker makes its home in the back corner and two pairs of barred owls also inhabit the nearby Douglas firs. They can be heard at night calling out as they settle in for the evening.
An important note for the walking explorer, please be aware that many areas of the farm are in their natural state. This means you might encounter prickly plants such as star thistle, nettles and tansy ragwort. We are happy to identify these for you if you are unfamiliar with them. Please be aware and dress in long pants and long sleeves while hiking. There are no poisonous snakes present in this region.
We train horses here so there is a full size riding arena and training round pen. On any given day, you might see horses being trained and ridden.
MORE ABOUT THE FOOD
At the end of your day of adventures, you can opt to sign up ( when your site is booked) for a delicious feast at Cowboy Camp. Using old time traditional Dutch oven cooking techniques and slow smoking methods, meals are comprised of such items as slow cooked smoked pork shoulder or ribs, Dutch oven baked "Horseshoe Beans" ( a crowd favorite), fire roasted corn on the cob (in season) , homemade potato salad, green spinach salad, and of course dessert such as homemade blackberry cobbler or pineapple upside down cake. Vegetarian selections are also available upon request.
ADVENTURES CLOSE BY
Venturing out from the farm you can sign up to go on a whale watching excursion with Puget Sound Express out of Port Townsend. Seeing a whale is guaranteed or you get a free return trip.
Also, the Olympic National Park is only a short one hour drive to the west and the view from Hurricane Ridge is not to be missed.

Property owners Karma and Rick come with a long extensive history of experience in the horse industry and western culture. Together they share over 100 years of experience with horses, both having ridden since young children.
Karma loves sharing her knowledge of horses and horsemanship with others and has been a certified riding instructor for many years.
Rick grew up with a horse and cattle background from a young age. As a young man he competed in the rodeo sports of bareback broncs, calf roping, bull riding and team roping. He then worked as a professional farrier, horse trainer and ranch employee in Texas. He learned the art of Texas BBQ cooking while living and working on Texas ranches.
He loves to cook for others and enjoys sharing tales of the ranch life.
You can choose to be as involved as you like during your visit. You can sit quietly in the forest and just enjoy peace and quiet if you so desire. We will not bother you. Our goal is simply to provide you with a beautiful place to relax, play, and enjoy during your visit.

The forest clean-up project has concluded, and replanting has already been done. The property is not as it was before, and it will take time to be in a desirable state; however, if you are interested in having a safe base camp for your travels and don't mind the current status, I would be happy to discuss accommodating you.
04/20/2024 Update:
We have been patiently waiting for a forest clean-up logging project to begin, and it has officially started. Our property has a large number of dying trees, so this is necessary to ensure the overall forest health. However, it will unavoidably disrupt the look of the property for many years to come. We will be replanting next February.
For those who wish to use the property only as a safe base camp near mountain biking trails, I’ll happily invite you to stay, but if you’re looking for a picturesque forest setting, you’ll want to check back in with us in a couple of years.

This 21-acre forest with a large beaver pond is classified as a class-A wetland. In addition to this, you can find a shallow creek, beaver dams, old growth forest, and a phenomenal bird habitat. Find privacy and quiet except for the songs of many birds and woodpeckers. The property is minutes away from Blanchard Mountain Trail head. There are numerous biking and hiking trails within a short distance, and while we aren't yet at the point of building trails here at the property, that will be coming shortly.
This property was once a show home, but a fire occurred over 10 years ago and the house was not rebuilt. While the remaining ruins are minimal, it sets an exciting backdrop; perhaps it can be the scene for a mysterious photo shoot. We have been actively working on cleaning up the property, but there are occasional spots where we find leftover fire debris that the previous occupant scattered throughout the property. If you find such a spot during your stay, please let us know.
Within the property is a small orchard with apples, blueberries, blackberries, grapes, and plumbs. While you are welcome to graze during your stay, we ask that you not harvest a great deal to ensure enough for everyone to enjoy.
There are fish in the pond, and though fishing is allowed, we can not claim what type or ease due to the nature of the plant growth. It is not stocked and is only fed by the area's waterways.
I have been asked several times if the fire ban is still active. Yes, it is. There is no longer access to a hose, so being able to quickly put out a fire in case of an accident is also more concerning. Sadly, with the last several years of intense summers, our area is likely going to be at risk of drought again this summer.
If you are interested in reserving the entire property for a completely secluded stay, please contact me directly. That option is $175 for a party of up to 20 individuals, but no more than 2 camper vans/RVs and four additional cars per night.

We are situated on 15 beautiful acres of open field, forested walking trails and the lovely Samish River. You’ll have your choice of 4 large perfectly dedicated sites ready for your time away from home and outdoor enjoyment.
‘Wildlife Acres Ln’ rings true to the scene; bunnies, birds and families of deer feel right at home in our field.
Our trails are awesome. I’d highly recommend good shoes/hiking boots and maybe even hiking poles or a walking stick for the two steep areas. Note; the trail down to the river is steep, but so worth the venture 💦
Delicious drinking water is available on site. A large ss sink is situated right next to the garden. No hot water is available, but you can always heat some on your cook stove.
I will have garden and farm fresh seasonal eggs, berries and veggies for purchase in the cooler near the sink for anything you may have forgotten or would like to enjoy for your evening meals or breakfast.
Skagit Valley is such a beautiful area with so much to explore in every direction. We have a lot of visitors that just want to escape the city for a moment and relax in nature under a big beautiful starlit sky. We also have outdoor enthusiasts that come for specific destinations such as Mount Galbraith, many different hiking trails, bird watching just past the adorable little towns of Bow and Edison, Deception Pass, scenic Chuckanut drive bringing you to the fun and happening city of Bellingham.
Skagit Speedway is popular for many (you’ll hear some Vroom Vrooms and fireworks my camper friends as we are just a couple miles from that kind of fun).
I highly recommend trying true, LOCAL food from North 40 Farm Store which is 10 minutes down the way located off F&S Grade Road where you can find natural grass fed Black Angus beef, pork, milk, eggs, bread and more! Experience the difference.
A little starter bundle of firewood will be provided for each site and more available for purchase if you won’t be bringing your own and would rather not purchase from a gas station.
Doggies are most definitely welcome.😊 Very Important–We have free range ducks and other animals that must NOT be chased. Off-leash doggies are welcome on the walking trails and down at the river only. 'Close calls' are no fun for anyone and we've had them. Enjoy your stay!

Almost 20 years ago, Shelley and Casey moved back to the beautiful Skagit Valley farm Shelley grew up on. Her family has farmed in the valley for five generations. Casey had studied permaculture in the San Juan Islands and they immediately began planting edible and useful plants throughout the property. They started a small Community Supported Agriculture program growing vegetables and fruit for several families. The property has evolved over time to include several living willow structures and a wonderful collection of unusual fruits creating what they hope is the feeling of a Wonderland.

New Van Camping Site in 2023: We have a new gravel pad van site next to an 18 acre farm field with a wonderful sunset view. We do not allow fires at the site. But you would be welcome to have a campfire in our firepit a short walk from your van site. Please note, we are not currently offering firewood. But it is available at the Shell station less than 5 minutes from our farm.
Tent Site: Pitch your tent in a private corner of our little organic farm in the beautiful Skagit Valley. You will be surrounded by gorgeous edible landscaping and a stunning view of Mount Baker. Take a stroll through our gardens, graze on some fruit in season. A 10 minute walk or quick bike ride to the Skagit River offering great swimming in the warmer months.
Our farm is surrounded by many flat scenic farm roads very popular for cyclists and photographers. There are two restaurants and several antique shops less than a mile away in the cute little town of Conway. The Conway Muse is a funky music venue and restaurant hosting great live music on weekends throughout the year.
Feel free to pick organic fruits, vegetables and nuts to enjoy at your campsite or take home by donation.

June Bud Farms was established in 1960s.
Blending two single parents, each with 4 kids. While June & Bud raised 8 kids, they collected Registered Holsteins for their quaint dairy. As the Dairy grew to 110 acres home to 120 heifers', they soon had to add an additional milking parlor. From milking 4 cows to a staggering 12 at once, Bud made the paper for the cutting edge technology!
As time marches on, the kids all grown, the little farm retired. Fast forward to 2020, its time to breath new life into this stout and sturdy barn. Cows are not in the current foreseeable future, but flowers are. We will carry on the name of Grandma June and Grandpa Bud. The play on the names is still quite fitting, and June Bud Farms continues to live on.

Retreat to relax at Chuckanut Hills Farm and Campground, a 20-acre energy-regenerative, off-grid family farm nestled at the foot of Anderson Mountain and surrounded by thousands of acres of forest. 30 minutes south of Bellingham in the Chuckanut Mountains, the only finger of the Cascade Mountain Range that reaches all the way
to the Salish Sea.
This wooded forest is part of the Puget Lowland Forest Eco-Region. These hills were the native home of the Saquantch people, a Salish coast tribe that fished and hunted the mountains surrounding Lake Whatcom. They lived in long lodge homes and were later pushed out by the invading Lummi Tribe. The Lummi Tribe was later pushed out by Western logging companies, and the entire mountainous region was heavily logged for a number of years.
Where our farm now rests was once the second of many logging camps built by Ed English, and he cut our gravel farm road in 1900; a railroad ran through the lower part of our property, taking logs from Lake Whatcom down to the little boom town of Seattle.
Our intention while being caretakers of this ancestral land is to restore native plants, raise heirloom produce and heritage animals, and provide a restful nature paradise for people looking to spend time in the outdoors.

.Our 16 acre private riverfront property is located on the Dungeness River just outside the city of Sequim in Clallam County on the Olympic Peninsula. There are just two very large campsites. Each site can accommodate two RV’s or just a bunch of tents. You will have full access to the parcel allowing you to explore or just hang out at the river. We are pet friendly. Well behaved dogs can be off leash this vacation.
The nearest towns are Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Victoria B.C., Just minutes from Sequim you’ll find restaurants, wineries and grocery stores.
The nearest attractions are Olympic National Park, Hurricane Ridge, Olympic Discovery Trail, Ferry Dock to Victoria B.C., Lake Crescent, and Hoh Rainforest where you can enjoy activities such as: boating, fishing, wildlife viewing, winter activities, hiking, biking, etc. Also, you can ride directly from the campsite to some fabulous mountain biking trails at Dungeness Trails.

Hike the several miles of nature trails on the hillside and explore our 65 acres of certified forest. Placards on the nature trail are part of our self-guided tour and provide information about forestry and the plants and animals that call this their home. Wander through the old growth groves, walk the 50' boardwalk and see the magical Fern Ridge. There are abundant wildflowers and seasonal berries to pick, as well as a variety of fall apples and pears in the old orchard available for self harvest. You can even purchase a tree to take home and plant.
Other farm experiences include a guided interactive nature tour for your group, a class on making maple syrup, or experience farm life and "hang with the hens." We also offer the opportunity to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables brought to your site. During the summer months, from July to September, our farm will be ablaze with seasonal fruit, including blackberries, cherries, apples, and salmonberries. Deer and occasional coyotes roam the property, but rest assured, they are apprehensive of us and pose no threat.
We derive great pleasure from spending time outdoors, so you may frequently observe us engaged in fieldwork, construction, or simply relaxing in our stargazing hammock circle. We are always available to provide you with space or invite you to join us. We derive immense satisfaction from meeting new individuals and have numerous recommendations for Whidbey Island, including the delectable blueberry stand in Freeland and the Mutiny Bay Blues, a venue that we can either recommend or provide directions to.
We eagerly anticipate your visit. Fern Gully is conveniently located just a two-minute drive from the charming Greenbank Pantry. Where you can indulge in delectable sandwiches and quench your thirst with refreshing Topo Chico or a bottle of wine. For a scenic excursion, venture to South Whidbey State Park, a six-minute drive away. Where you can embark on exhilarating hiking trails along the breathtaking coastline. Camp in a private grove of trees overlooking acres of pastures with grazing sheep, miniature cattle, ponies, and horses. Depending upon the time of year, there may be lambs, newborn calves or puppies. From December to June a creek burbles by.
The campsite has a gazebo with furniture and fire table. There is also a fire ring, but burn bans sometimes begin as early as the middle of June. Current burn ban rules will be posted.
Acres of grass to wander through, and a Portapotty for your convenience. There is running water, but it is piped from the creek via solar-powered pump, and is not potable.
During the winter we pull the pump. Water is available from the busy creek just feet away.

The Samish River runs through the property, narrowing into a deeper channel from the broad protected marshes to the north which provide excellent bird-watching vistas. We are located 30 min Southeast of Bellingham and one hour away from the fantastic Mt Baker ski area.
Our yurt is new, with no power but with good cell reception. We have a fully set up kitchen with all necessary utensils and dishes, comfortable bed with linen, woodstove and gas stove. Remember to bring a cooler!

This was such a lovely and well taken care of campground. The little gazebo that has been built there was wonderful and the property was beautiful, with a little walking trails and a nice river right next to the campsite. There is plenty of space for pets to roam around and the campsite feels nice and secluded. We would definitely go back!

Such a great experience! This is the perfect Hipcamp for those that want a hub for surrounding activities! I enjoyed the site and the host was very appropriately communicative. The description of the place is perfectly honest. Expect a visit from fluffy dogs and lots of farm and wilderness sounds. I heard a barred owl when I first arrived. Tasty water and the sauna and bathroom/shower is perfect!

Great area and a wonderful host. Met us during a rain storm as we parked our trailer and assist through out. Much appreciated. We have a 17’ trailer which fit just fine but anything above that would be a bit tight. Would recommend driving around property vice backing down the drive. Very nice spot and super quiet. Site was convenient to so many great attractions that it is a perfect base camp or just to relax and chill. Would recommend for sure.

Made it very easy to extend your stay by extending your black tank storage capacity. Just as pictured. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing! Saw bald eagles, herons, gulls, and deer. 10 out of 10 would stay here again!

Great, out of the way, place. Spots are well marked, wiht plenty of space between them for privacy. There are farm animals that free range, including sheep (that are very cute), so heads up that there's lots of poop around. Andrea has three incredibly friendly dogs that came to say hello, and lots of cats around that are friendly too. The sauna is a great feature. The only drawback is that the sauna/bathhouse is a bit of an uphill hike from the campsites. Just plan your bathroom trips. Otherwise, lovely overnight here.

The best camping site we have been to by far. Rich has the most beautiful land and has thought of everything anyone may need for a leisurely camping experience. It was so clean and beautiful and private.
So many trails, several smaller streams connecting to or from the main river. There's a little bridge and so much more. He obviously is in love with the land and with sharing it. I mean the gravel was raked when we got there. He provides a staked down line for our dog to be able to roam securely. The water and electricity were great and the internet provided me with the ability to send and receive text and emails for work. The port a potty’s were clean and even smelled good. I could go on and on and we will definitely be back
