A truly tranquil getaway near Deception Pass. We missed out on the park campgrounds, but really we got lucky. The camp site was peaceful, quiet, secluded and Michael was a great host. The eggs were delicious too!

Nice little spot amongst the trees! Loved the privacy/no other campers around. There’s a great Solo stove provided for your campfire and tree stumps to sit on or place your things. Watch out for the stinging nettles and mosquitoes - bring your repellent and gloves for the nettles. Didn’t hear any jets flying over which was great. The neighbors dogs did bark all night so maybe bring some earplugs. Otherwise great little spot! Michael was super helpful and responsive when I had a few questions.

The name accurately describes the site - tranquil! I opted for the tent rent & set up add ons - which was really nice to show up and have everything already set up. I stayed a few weeks & I can confirm the description is accurate. I woke up in the morning to the sound of birds chirping and fell asleep to the sound of crickets and frogs. The fire pit was nice to have & though stumps to sit on were provided I splurged and purchased a camping chair for a bit more comfort.
As a female camping alone, there were a few times my heart rate spiked from noises outside the tent - most likely from deer or some other animal. But overall I felt fairly safe - enough of a "deep in the woods" vibe, but tucked in between homes for that sense of security.
Michael checked in via message here and there during my stay to make sure I was all good, but otherwise let me be.
My only suggestion would be possibly the addition (or maybe option) of some solar lights surrounding the campsite. With that being said, I recommend campers bring multiple light sources and mosquito repellent!
There were a couple evenings of aircraft flying overhead from the base, but I don't think I ever heard any past 10 pm.
All in all very much enjoyed my stay & may even return when I'm just looking for a taste of wooded camping without being too far from civilization!

Great area and a wonderful host. Met us during a rain storm as we parked our trailer and assist through out. Much appreciated. We have a 17’ trailer which fit just fine but anything above that would be a bit tight. Would recommend driving around property vice backing down the drive. Very nice spot and super quiet. Site was convenient to so many great attractions that it is a perfect base camp or just to relax and chill. Would recommend for sure.

This camp was super cute, well maintained, and very close to all of the areas the island has to offer!
The host was so kind, great at communicating with us, and have amazing recommendations on places to eat in the area.
The only small thing we noticed was being in close proximity to the air base you can definitely hear the jets. HOWEVER, we only heard them upon arrival that night, and for a short time the next morning. The remaining night and morning there we never heard a thing!
HIGHLY recommend this site!

Super cute and remote site that felt very homey. Communication between Michael leading up to our stay as well as recommendations for places to eat were top notch! Literally the ONLY thing that we noticed was being across from the naval Air Force base could be noisy at times, however we really only noticed when we first arrived later in the evening and the next morning around 8 am. Other than that, we really never heard them during our 2 day stay. Michael’s Hipcamp is definitely a place I’d recommend on the island for anybody that would want clean, shaded, close to everything, and not for a large chunk of change! The site is the only site on the property and very secluded on a private road and decent-size tent pad plus it's a short drive to downtown for supplies.
They also have a smokeless fire pit and that was a very nice touch with logs to sit on, the owner clearly takes pride in his property and wants to provide a comfortable place to camp.
I did get some solar but there is almost no cell signal, however, this is an island problem not on the host.
I would recommend possibly adding wifi, however, most of us go camping to get away from all of that.
The host is very accommodating and friendly, they are also actively building up and continuing to improve upon the site as it is still new.

I totally lucked out finding Camp Tranquility! It’s a lovely little spot, tucked away in the trees, with amazing birdsong and frogs singing you to sleep at night. You’ll feel like you’re alone in the forest, with plenty of privacy and space to just relax and chill. The camping area is nice and flat, super easy to get your tent pitched. And the hosting is top notch. I arrived later in the evening, booking at the last minute when my campsite down the road at Ft. Ebey didn’t work out. Michael responded right away, met me at the road to escort me in, and checked on me throughout my stay, offering to bring blankets, propane heater, etc. if needed. It couldn’t have worked out better, and like I say, I felt lucky to have found the spot in a pinch. I had a great stay at Camp Tranquility and I’ll definitely be returning!

As the name of this site implies, it was in fact very tranquil. This is certainly one of the quieter sites we have been to, so quiet you really can enjoy the sounds of nature. You are surrounded by woods, but there is a clearing by the site that offers a nice view of the stars. My fiancé and I had a wonderful time here, the host’s were very friendly and accommodating. This is likely going to be one of our new favorite spots, and if privacy and nature are what you are looking for I cant recommend here enough.
