There is no restroom facility so campers MUST have an RV with a toilet. Sorry, no tents or car camping. Only one RV at a time is scheduled, unless guests are traveling together, so you’ll have plenty of privacy! (More than two people are welcome.) The huge graveled area makes turning around super easy, and there’s a pretty view to the west over a grassy field toward the sunset and a partial view of Mount Baker to the east. The barn is picturesque, though there are no animals on the property except for two indoor cats.
The RV site has water from the faucet outside of the barn via a 100-foot white drinking water hose. There is a new 30 amp RV style electrical hookup, and a 20 amp household style plug-in located on the side of the barn. Electricity is an additional $5 per night paid in advance. There is a 100 foot heavy duty extension cord available. Benson Road is narrow with a deep ditch, so it isn’t suitable for walking or biking, but traffic noise is minimal. The property sits directly across from the Lynden airport. While planes rarely take off or land here, it’s fun to watch when they glide in to land. On most days you might see three planes, with a few more on Sunday afternoons when people return home.
The property is a flat 1,500 feet long, making it great for walking. It’s also a wonderful spot for dogs to run and play, though since it’s within Lynden city limits, dogs must remain under immediate control or on a leash. Quiet time is strictly observed at 9 p.m. A campfire area is available in the farmyard, with a charged hose required to be on hand. The owner will try to provide firewood and newspaper for starting fires, but availability isn’t guaranteed.
Conveniently located, the property is only a 4-minute drive from charming, flower-filled (in season) downtown Lynden and the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds, 6 minutes from the main grocery shopping area, and about 5 minutes from the Canadian border crossing.
It’s a 30-minute drive south to Bellingham, 30 minutes west to Birch Bay and other waterfront destinations, 1 hour 15 minutes to Anacortes (gateway to the San Juan Islands), and 1 hour 20 minutes east to the Picture Lake Viewpoint on Mt. Baker.

It’s two story but only the second story is available for use as the first floor is storage. There is no bathroom or kitchen inside, but there is electricity and an outhouse will be provided. There are abundant wildflowers and seasonal berries to pick, as well as a variety of fall apples and pears in the old orchard available for self harvest. You can even purchase a tree to take home and plant.

June Bud Farms was established in 1960s.
Blending two single parents, each with 4 kids. While June & Bud raised 8 kids, they collected Registered Holsteins for their quaint dairy. As the Dairy grew to 110 acres home to 120 heifers', they soon had to add an additional milking parlor. From milking 4 cows to a staggering 12 at once, Bud made the paper for the cutting edge technology!
As time marches on, the kids all grown, the little farm retired. Fast forward to 2020, its time to breath new life into this stout and sturdy barn. Cows are not in the current foreseeable future, but flowers are. We will carry on the name of Grandma June and Grandpa Bud. The play on the names is still quite fitting, and June Bud Farms continues to live on.

Cleaning up after pets includes excess pet hair, especially on furniture. Please use the waterproof pet blanket provided for the sofa and bed.
Guests bring the animal onto the property at their own risk. The booking guest is liable for any damages that pets cause. (We will have to charge a cleaning fee if your dog leaves behind a mess or causes damage.)
We find that most people are cooperative and responsible with their pets. We love traveling with our fur babies, and would like to keep allowing pets in our listings. Thank you for being understanding and working with us to keep our rental available to pets!
Rules for dogs:
1. We do NOT have a fenced yard or space. If you have a dog that will wander, we require you to keep your dog on a leash or a lead.
2. We live in a country neighborhood and being good neighbors is very important to us. Excessive barking, making noise or being a nuisance to our neighbors is not allowed.

The bunkhouse was clean and very comfortable, and the composting toilet was arguably cleaner than our bathroom at home 😂 We had a wonderful time going on a quiet hike in the private forest, viewing owls and forest life. Our group rented Alder Meadow and Creekside. We had a wonderful time! We had 4 kids, and it was wonderful that they could be exploring and playing within our sight; it felt sort of contained but gave them freedom at the same time. They loved the playground and the outdoor games.
I would only say both sites have almost no shade at certain times of the day, except for the canopy. (one in the morning and during the evening). Just a thing to consider.
The farm is also located close to a very lovely lake and river, so we had an extra adventure outside from there every day.

This is our 6th trip back and it gets better every time. The small touches and improvements since our last trip as amazing (extra things in the Snack Shack, extra add-ons, etc). Margaret checked in on us a few times a day and it was awesome! She even set up a sprinkler for the kids because it was hot. Small touches like that keep us coming back year after year. My kids call it "our usual place" and we can't wait for our next visit.

The campsite and grounds were immaculately kept and thoughtfully designed! The group camp was very private and worked really well for our group that included young kids. They loved the playground, game shed and freedom to explore. The kids also really enjoyed seeing the horses and chickens and splashing in the creek. All of us had a wonderful and relaxing time. We will be back!

We visited for the long weekend from Vancouver and it was the perfect getaway from the city. The location is rural farms and beautiful parks all around, with some hidden gem spots (Gunners is A+) to stop for a beer and snack! The hosts Richard and Kathleen were so kind and personable, bringing by their dogs in the morning for a routine walk. We enjoyed the scenery, company from the hosts and unlimited adventures to seek out. We truly hope to be back soon.

We had a wonderful weekend at Rusty Ranch! We camped with cousins on Hawthorne Loop, which was perfect for our crew (one family of 4 tent camping, other family of four in travel trailer). It was a spacious site with lots of room to spread out. There was a covered picnic table inside the loop which was our main gathering spot for group meals. We hiked the trails, played lawn games, and had a fun experience feeding and caring for some of the farm animals. We also visited the barn area to buy fresh eggs, jam and ice. The kids loved having a little playground on site. Margaret was delightful and welcoming. We will definitely visit again!

We have a multiple family and friends camping group. As a group we were looking for something different than the municipal camp ground or first come first serve camp setting.
We found Car Pond and had hopes it would fit what we were looking for. Even before our arrival the host was always in communication with us and answered every question we had.
As a big fan of the farming countryside community, Card Pond is nestled right in the middle of what Whatcom county has to offer.
Upon our arrival, any anxiety we had was washed away. The Card family has set up a first class camp site. From the Pond features, to the tree cover, the utility hook ups, and hay ride to the farm. Our camping families also include fur kids too. This site was a hit for them as well.
With our experience, we are going to make Card Pond a recurring camp destination.

Our large family loves camping at Margaret’s place. The land is beautiful and well cared for, the group spot is quiet and private with lots of room for the kids and dogs to roam, the playground is close by and visible, the permanent shelter and picnic tables make set up a breeze, and she has the nicest outhouses. She is attentive while giving us our privacy and she’s thought of every detail. Being able to buy ice and treats for the kids is an extra bonus. I bought myself the cutest mug! We look forward to returning.

We had a great time! This was the first time we have gone camping since my kids were little. We have never camped at a farm before. It was fun having the kitties visit us during the stay. We also got farm fresh eggs and a tour of the farm animals. Lots of fun! We would love to come back next summer.
