This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site available Memorial Day to Labor Day. Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. Tenino, the area we are in is where the First Nations People used as the Gathering Grounds. The Europeans when they came with their railroad chose to continue that tradition. Tenino is ground zero for the measurement of where one is on the railroad. We fell in love with our farm with its much untouched acres to create a place where people can gather and reconnect with life's natural beauty. We are certified organic, Salmon Safe certified, and pesticide free. Dragons' Gate Gardens is home to many giant crystals and here their beauty works delightfully with the land. The area has gently rolling hills filled with wildflowers during the earlier part of the Summer. Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds has a hundred and twenty acres to explore. The Skookumchuck River is a little over a mile away where you can enjoy a waterfall and walk along the river with low bank where one can get into the water. Doing so is a great favorite of our guests. There is a giant crystal housed in a gazebo that overlooks the surrounding fields and woods. Time to meditate with the giant crystal in the gazebo can be booked with Kathleen for a fee of $55. We are wild and woolly. We provide a place to experience nature as it simply is. We privilege pollinators above human aesthetics. Wildflowers abound, including various dandelions of which many are edible and healing plants. We encourage converting from lawns to meadow lands being supportive of wild birds and insects. If you like it wild we are the place for you. This is not a resort or English style garden. Tall grass, wild flowers and trees fill the land around you to give you a feeling of full immersion in Nature.

This is such a special place! The Wanderbus was cozy and quirky and perfect. More than warm enough and Louis the Third is an immaculate toilet. I took advantage of the hot tub both nights and it’s such a great perk. Definitely try the tangerine essential oil stay with it! I came to take pictures and get some quiet reading time and it didn’t disappoint. I would recommend it so highly (as long as you don’t book when I want to come back!)

This is the best hipcamp I've ever been to. It was so quiet, the camper was extremely cozy and well stocked, and the spot was very private. The off grid hot tub was unique and well worth the extra fee! The whole campground is a very fun and creative space and you can really tell how much love and care Gary and crew have put into this place. I'll be back for summer camping!

Gary was so attentive and welcoming! Even though I came during a rainy time, the land was beautiful and whimsical. The staff there were all so accommodating and helped with anything I needed (firewood, the hot tub, heaters). The community kitchen was sooo much fun to use and the shower was amazing! It was fun to walk around and see the bunnies and chickens as well as see how hard the staff work to create more fun amenities for the future. Gary mills the wood himself and you can see how all of the structures are such a labor of love!

The little A-frame structure was perfect for my needs and stood up well to some pretty blustery weather on my first day. It takes a minute to locate the structure if you arrive in the dark and rain, as I did, but once I was oriented, all was well. Definitely recommend this instead of a tent if you're coming at a time of year when the weather is a bit unpredictable.

It's a very quiet getaway, but close enough to the city. The professional and friendly staff make it feel at home. The community house is stocked full of pots and pans and other baking utensils to virtually make anything you may be craving to make.
