2 acres of serenity. An opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We are a small hobby farm. We offer two different Glamping sites... a Yurt and a Bell Tent. Your private getaway is secluded from the rest of the farm life but you are welcome to visit and partake in whatever the farm offers. We have Nigerian dwarf goats, apples, pears, plums, blackberries & Iris to enjoy. Wild animals abound. There are walking/biking trails right around the corner and you are 15 minutes from downtown, the ocean and enjoying sports like kayaking, swimming, whale watching, etc. Our glamping sites are completely off grid. Enjoy simplicity in comfortable luxury!
We are dog friendly, and we require all guests to clean up after their dogs. There are plastic bags provided for animal waste disposal when dogs are in the backyard and on neighborhood walks. Cleaning up after pets includes excess pet hair, especially on furniture. Please use the waterproof pet blanket provided for the sofa and bed.
Guests bring the animal onto the property at their own risk. The booking guest is liable for any damages that pets cause. (We will have to charge a cleaning fee if your dog leaves behind a mess or causes damage.)
We find that most people are cooperative and responsible with their pets. We love traveling with our fur babies, and would like to keep allowing pets in our listings. Thank you for being understanding and working with us to keep our rental available to pets!
Rules for dogs:
1. We do NOT have a fenced yard or space. If you have a dog that will wander, we require you to keep your dog on a leash or a lead.
2. We live in a country neighborhood and being good neighbors is very important to us. Excessive barking, making noise or being a nuisance to our neighbors is not allowed.
3. Clean up after your dog in the rental, around the rental and anywhere you take your dog in the neighborhood.

Our little city farm is in the Birchwood neighborhood, a neighborhood developed during the depression so folks have room to grow their own food and keep animals while still living within city limits. We have a few turkeys, geese and chickens and many of our neighbors also have birds. Our birds (NOT THE GEESE!!) roam freely during the day in the field where your campsite is located. They are friendly and will be curious to meet you.
The lots in Birchwood are all about 3/4 of an acre and many people have chickens, impressive gardens and have formed a real community. Combine that with our close proximity to the bay and downtown and we feel this is a prime spot to stay! We would love to share this with you.

located on the scenic Chuckanut Drive. It is a 15 minute walk to Taylor United's Seafood Bar that has beer and wine. You will need boots just below the knee, or hiking shoes that will get wet. The Creek crossing is a little deeper this year. You will also be crossing a muddy area for about 20 yards, you will sink about 3 inches into the mud. The hike into the campsite takes 12 minutes. You need to contact me to check the tides, as to be able to get to the campsite. We need to hike in below a 5 foot tide. Starting October, the campsite closes for winter. Again , this campsite is Tide dependent. The first question to me should be, What is the latest we can hike in? I am not Moses, I can’t part the sea.

Retreat to relax at Chuckanut Hills Farm and Campground, a 20-acre energy-regenerative, off-grid family farm nestled at the foot of Anderson Mountain and surrounded by thousands of acres of forest. 30 minutes south of Bellingham in the Chuckanut Mountains, the only finger of the Cascade Mountain Range that reaches all the way to the Salish Sea. These hills were the native home of the Saquantch people - a Salish coast tribe that fished and hunted the mountains surrounding Lake Whatcom. They lived in long lodge homes and were later pushed out by the invading Lummi Tribe. The Lummi Tribe was later pushed out by Western logging companies, and the entire mountainous region was logged aggressively for a number of years. Where our farm now rests was once the second of many logging camps built by Ed English; a railroad ran through the lower part of our property, taking logs from Lake Whatcom down to the boom town of Seattle. Our intention while being the current caretakers of this ancestral land is to restore native plants, raise heirloom produce and heritage animals, and provide a restful nature paradise for people looking to spend time in the outdoors.

The Guemes North Homestead is ten acres of gorgeous tall trees, clearings, homestead buildings, pond, trails, renewable energy gear, and more, set in the middle of the north end of Guemes Island, at the end of a 1/3-mile dead-end driveway. It has nature, quiet, and privacy. It includes a 30-year-old orchard, a developed garden with fine soil, a pond with rope swing and waterslide, several solar and wind energy systems, and multiple buildings. It's about a mile in two directions from the Pacific Ocean beach, and is surrounded by wooded acreage that is criss-crossed with trails and friendly neighbors, on an island with about 700 year-round residents and an active weekend/summer population.
Homestead owner Ian Woofenden is an expert in renewable energy systems. He's lived off-grid at the homestead for 40-plus years, where he raised his large family and managed several small businesses. He now consults, sells, writes, and teaches about renewable energy in the U.S. and in Central America.
If your idea of a great getaway is to help out and do physical work, just ask Ian. There's always something going on at the homestead, including garden and orchard work, trail building, wood cutting, construction, sawmilling, and more. Ian built this place, and has a broad knowledge of lots of homestead and sustainability topics. He loves sharing his knowledge and experience with guest, students, and interns.

This information is based on stories from some old timers my husband had
spoken to in the past when he bought this property in 2002. The owner back in the old days sold off parcels and parcels of lands back then.
The property is all fenced in, a place where your fur buddy can run free so you don't have to worry of the baby getting lost!
Hopefully you'll get a visit from a deer and hear the hooting of the owl. :)
You are welcome to check out our goats too if you want (they're in their enclosed space).
The surroundings are peaceful and private, you will enjoy exploring the trails all around the 9 acres out of 12 we are sharing.
Stroll down the hill to listen to the sounds of the creek and fish ladder.
Our campground cabins are about 4.9 miles from the 'Granite Falls Fish Ladder'. Visit this beauty at Mountain Loop Highway if you fancy a little hike.
Drive around 7 miles to the 'Lime Kiln Trailhead. The trail is full of amazing views and history.
Our place is only about 45 minutes from Seattle. Why not pack your tent and sleeping bags then drive here after work, then leave in the morning.

When we purchased
this property it was covered with black berry bushes, we did not even know what might be underneath when we started to clear it.
At first we just wanted a garden but the deer ate the blueberries so we planted pumpkins.
They were a success, in fact one year we gave a pumpkin to each Beach School kindergartner.
Later on we decided to set it up as with RV hook ups for our friends and that is how we got to where we are now.
We love to share Lummi Island, it is a special place.
Park your camping trailer or RV, water, electricity, both 110 and 30 amp service, sewer (septic hook up)
are ready for you.
Once you're set up, start exploring. The beach, blizzard trail, ride your bike, bring your kayak or just sit back and take in views all the way to Canada.
Lummi Island does have a grocery store, near the ferry landing, but, best to stock your
meals from home as the store has limited supplies.
There is only one restaurant on Lummi Island the Beach Store Cafe, moderate prices but only open Thursday thru Sunday.
The best part of Lummi Island is the tranquility, kick back and enjoy fresh air, beach walks,
outstanding sunsets and quiet nights.
Pets OK, please pick up after pet and have a leash.
