Our beautiful property is a short drive away from the Hood Canal, Puget Sound, and various fresh water lakes that are regularly stocked with fish.
We offer over an acre of developed land that has four fully functional RV sites that have water, electricity and sewer hook-ups. Each site is beautifully graveled and clean. Our property is off of the beaten path on the outskirts of the delightful town of Belfair in Mason county. The neighborhood is low key and very "country life" oriented.

Belfair has two grocery stores, a handful of gas stations, wonderful restaurants and interesting shops. It's a relaxing drive to our place from downtown Belfair right along the beautiful Hood Canal. We are tucked away in a back neighborhood 379 feet above sea level. Very peaceful and quiet!
You must have a fully self-contained RV to stay at our property as there are no public bathroom or shower facilities available.
So come on out and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. We are here for you should you need a safe, quiet place to park for however long it takes to get your inner peace back. We truly look forward to hearing from you!

The place has been farmland since about 1926. It became a family horse property with three pastures and now is a small lavender and blackberry farm. While it is limited to two RV sites, there may be farm visitors walking around the area. Tall cedars and fir remain in the back of the property and provide for a forest experience. It is not a commercial campground. We are now turning it into a small lavender farm. About half of the original pasture is now covered in black ground mat and 3,000 newly planted lavender.

You should rely primarily on your own power. Walking trails are in cedar trees and on hill across 10 acres with flower fields and blackberry "farm". Free blackberry picking in season (August and Early September). Deer, racoons, foxes, bald eagles and occassional coyote on site. Keep food and trash secure. No toilet or sewer available. There is one portable "porta potty" type facility. Dry camping only, no camp fires allowed due to fire conditions. Pack out own trash/garbage. No Pets allowed. Only visible neighbors are three horses on neigboring 10 acre farm property. There is Wi-Fi. Beach access has been closed.

Hello, This space overlooks the Tahuya Valley to the south and sits along the edge of a deep, forested gully to the east. Once described as a sea of evergreens, rightfully, as decades ago, this whole area grew christmas trees, so we like to think alot of the +40 year old trees where just left to grow for lumber once they stopped farming holiday trees!
It feels very remote as it is very quite here, though on a dead air day during commute hours, you'll hear distant road noise, that's about it, often the wind, rain, and the birds drown it out completely.

West Perch – Smaller site with water and power, tucked along the western edge, pull through parking. Rebuilding for future home of TiPi.
Side Step – Closed.
Most guests tent camp or bring vans. If your trailering, and the trailer weighs more than your vehicle, this place is not for you.

Big south skies—great for moon/stargazing.
Backs up to 150+ acres of state timberlands, with a new personal link trail that connects the camp to the Howell Lake trail. Tight trails at first then opens up to ORV trails.
We’ve got firewood— not perfectly dry but it burns. Kindling recommended in wet seasons for starting.
Trash-free land. Please keep it clean, you're welcome to burn paper products and I encourage you to buy more paper and less plastic. Please pack out all waste with you.
⚠️ A Few Notes:
Steep drops —stay alert, especially at night.
1-mile dirt driveway is bumpy—take it slow please, more so during dust season.
New 2022 Well, Fresh water, but I can't legally recommend drinking it since it flows via temporary water setups. Can fill tanks directly from the well if asked.

Please note, this is HARSTINE ISLAND, NOT HERRON. I haven't gotten Hipcamp to fix this yet. There is a bridge to the island and the coordinates offered for site are correct. Also no bathroom set up at this time.
Beautiful peaceful forest with trails, a great spot for elopements (elopement package separate) and a beautiful meadow with a small ringed fire pit for one site and a movable fir pit for another.. Maximum 2 sites in 5 acres. 70% of the Island is forestry but sound DOES carry a long way so it's not dead-quiet.
Harstine Island has a BRIDGE, no ferry!
One hammock is left up in the forest and there are places for your hammocks to be hung, as well.
There is one spot on drive that is between two trees so you need to go slowly and be careful, 9 foot wide at wheel base only. Please take note of this. Easy for cars, a bit tricky for some trailer/RVs. Photo and video can be seen on webpage.
Types of wildlife include barred owls, a nighthawk usually in summer can be seen at dusk, western alligator lizards, warblers, robins, crows, wrens, a bear has visited before (lucky me heard it 'woof' at me, bear didn't appreciate my singing), deer, others have seen red fox in the past but we have not been so lucky. Birder's paradise. one lovely review calls it a great place for forest bathing!
Puget sound is SO clean here with a diverse salt water life. Orca and Humpback have been spotted nearby. You can track them at Orca Network or Puget Sound Whale Sightings on Facebook. Both '22 and '23 have seen orca making rounds with the incoming tide going under the bridge and circling the island! There is Jarrell Cove state park and a boat ramp at Latimer's Landing Boat Launch few miles way. There is a great local market at the community center Saturdays from 10-12 in the summer. No water view, this is heavy forest off a gravel drive into privacy. No power, no water, pack it in pack it out.
Please be careful of deer when you are driving in and observe island speed limits. Familiarize yourself with the personal fire extinguisher at the site.

This place is stunning. The hill up was pretty steep but we made it just fine with 4wd. The teepee is great and having the option of either firepit was awesome. Running water with the sink, the outhouse, and the amount of open space was all fantastic. Great access to trails and Howell lake trail was excellent and secluded. Also there was PLENTY of firewood and kindling. Highly recommend for large groups and families.

Loved how communicative Jim was, from checking with me about arrival time, the site was clean, it was very spacious, the listing says it can fit more people with tents and I can totally see the space for it, this time was just me and I had a lot of space to park my car and camp. The gender neutral porta potty was clean and had access to potable water too. I would stay with him again FOR SURE, and I’ll recommend it to my friends.

Gary was an excellent host! The Wanderbus and hot tub were just what we needed to escape the city life for the weekend. Everything was well stocked and there were some unexpected provisions that made it clear that Gary puts a lot of thought into having guest stay in his community. The setup also showed Gary’s passion and enthusiasm for creating the world around you, from the creativity & whimsy to the skillful woodworking & craftsmanship. Three of us had a great time tent camping at Site #3! Plenty of space for tents and hanging out around the campfire. We had the place to ourselves as the other 2 sites were unoccupied, which made the camp extra peaceful with the sound of the creek and only occasional road noise from 101 way down the hill. The portapotty was extra clean and had a light inside, plus solar lights outside to find it in the night. The owner Jim went above and beyond taking us on a tour of his oyster farm, showing us how the farm works, explaining the oyster life cycle, and letting us harvest oysters ourselves! We went back up to camp with dozens of oysters that we shucked around the campfire. The “little Lillies” are briny and complex, we ended up buying a few dozen from Jim on our 2nd night. Highly recommended for anyone who loves the Hood Canal and the freshest oysters. What a dream camping trip 🥰🦪🏕️

The Wanderbus was incredible! I absolutely adored this gem of a place and the entire property was so whimsically lovely :) The bus itself was gorgeous with all of the woodwork Gary did to make it feel cozy. The bed and pillows were beyond comfy.
He is a fantastic host, incredibly friendly, and very responsive. I would absolutely stay here again and hope to visit another time soon! My only regrets were missing out on the the hot tub and having to cut my stay short due to unforeseen circumstances, with which Gary was very kind and understanding. Seaside Grove was great! It was very private and plenty of room for our 2 vehicles and 4 dogs. It is right on the beach and being able to take the kayaks out was awesome. The hosts were very helpful and offered a propane fire pit and extra blankets if we needed (we camped in early March, so technically still winter. Lol)

Beautiful spot!! Quiet/quaint and easy to get to. Loved access to fresh oysters and how pleasant our host was. We had firewood available and ready when it was needed. Beautiful walk down to the canal.

We had an amazing time camping at site #3. The area was peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. It’s only about a 15-minute walk to the water, where you can collect shells, oysters, etc.
Jim was a fantastic host. He provided us with firewood and even stopped by to check on us and see if we needed more. On top of that, there were fresh oysters for sale during our stay. I think we ended up eating around five dozen or so over the course of our stay there.
We would absolutely come back!

2 nights at Elfendahl Forest
The revamped bus was the coziest rainy day refuge. I was sad the rain kept me from fully exploring and appreciating the fantastical campgrounds. But it was so easy to be completely content at the bus-turned-cabin site because of the privacy and having everything you need for a proper glamp, even in a downpour. All the details are so thoughtful, from the tea kettle to the outdoor compost toilet, the outdoor stringlights to the indoor power outlets (used sparingly on a battery)-- I honestly can't wait to come back and *actually* use the spring water hot tub. Missed opportunity when the universe gave me a surprise puppy to adopt the day of the trip! Gary was incredibly understanding and even invited us to play with his own pups loose on the campgrounds! Koda and I appreciate all the space you made for us, and we will be back very soon!
