First, the positives - the host was very friendly on the phone and very kind - he delivered a dozen fresh oysters to our camp and set us up with firewood and a grate to cook them. That was so incredibly kind. Thank you. Unfortunately, there were some big negatives for our site #3. I think the host means well, but in practice, we felt misled by the listing. At the time we booked our site, the only pictures showed a secluded site in the woods. Site #3 was right next to the road, in a gravel parking lot, next to a pole barn and some heavy machinery parked nearby. It had services and a picnic table and fire ring, but definitely not a cozy site in the woods. There were 2 other sites occupied, and the one above us in the woods seemed to match the photos, but site #3 was not as advertised. Also, there were no directions to help the camper know which site to go to. We arrived in the dark and didn't see the site, went past it and got confused and had to call the host. If the host posts clear photos of this site, provides better instructions to find it, and discounts the cost a bit for site to reflect the less than ideal location, I think site #3 could still be worth it for folks just looking for a quick place to stop along the way. I hope he updates the listing accordingly. Until then, buyer beware.

We had a great trip for our 3 night stay! My 2 wheel drive truck couldn't make it up the incline towing my trailer, but the host helped us out immensely w his equipment! My 21ft trailer fit w room to spare in the space, and all the utilities worked perfectly. The host was so great and brought us extra firewood! He was also friendly and had all kinds of information on area things to do. During the day traffic was noisy, but it was quieter at night. Thank you for a great space!

We stayed at William’s place for a weekend with our two dogs. It was absolutely amazing and beautiful. It is off a busy road, however you really feel secluded and it’s so quiet at night. William stopped by to introduce himself and gave us pointers on where to eat, nearby beaches, etc. one afternoon we walked to the top of the property and the views were incredible! We can’t wait to stay here again, what a gem and close to so much!

Great Basecamp

Very nice, flat and open site with plenty of room to back in. Near a road that gets some noise, but it dies down at night. Great location to use as a basecamp for other activities in the region. No views of Hood Canal, but very close to the water.

Birds singing and close to beaches!

Lovely little site just off the road in a wooded area, close to some nice state parks and beaches. We enjoyed walking around looking at the birds in the morning. Orange-crowned warbler, purple finch, spotted towhee, pacific wren, dark-eyed junco, lots and lots of robins. Firepit and table were great. William was very responsive on text and even brought us some delicious oysters that we grilled on the fire with our barbecue!

Great camping site! Felt very private. William is a fabulous host and greeted us on arrival to show us our spot. Close to Hama Hama for all the oysters you can eat!

Have made this location an annual stop! Site is excellent for our 18ft RV and close to many Union attractions. Union Deli supplied great pizza and pretzels one night and Olympic Ice Cream the next day. Will definitely be coming back

Great Secluded Spot

We had a great time staying at Site 2 on William’s land. Our kids stayed at Site 1. We were in a small Class C RV. Although the property is close to a fairly busy road, things quieted down after 9:00 at night and stayed that way until 8:00 or so in the morning. Our site was fairly level although we did have to do a bit of leveling. Our site was very private and felt like you were staying in the woods. William’s land has access to miles of hiking trails although the road to access them is pretty steep. It is just a short walk on the road to the Union Square Deli which has lots of food options and beer on tap. The water pressure at our site was pretty low so showers were a challenge. It was better at site 1. The gate to enter was not set back very far so you had to stop traffic to allow for opening it. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.

This was the second time we stayed at this location, as it was convenient to the event that we were doing at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. As I mentioned before it’s rare to find a Hipcamp site that has both a 30 amp service and sewer available for RVs. This works great for us and we were certainly appreciative. We will be back!

William was friendly and accommodating. The rv site was easy access, level and private. It’s rare to find a hip camp rv site with power (30 amp service) and even more rare to find one with sewer, but this site had both. We’ll be back when traveling in the area.

2nd time visit to this camp. Peaceful setting, wildlife around, deers, frogs, hawks, etc. RV power, water available making it a very comfortable stay. Took a 20 second drive from the camp to the Union Square Deli for excellent morning coffee and breakfast sandwiches.

A spot to park

A spot to pull of the road and hook up for the night. William was responsive and even told me about some of the wildlife that's around. (I asked a lot of questions about the birds I was seeing). Would be an even better spot if cheaper to just park for the night (no electricity hookup, just a spot to park). There road is close, so it's not super quiet and star gazey.

We stayed here for 16 nights and had a wonderful time! Bill was welcoming and willing to answer all of the questions I had about the property before we came and was there to meet us and show us the options for where to stay. We chose the upper site for its privacy, larger and bigger site size. This site did have pretty low water pressure but the lower one seemed better. Each site has a fire ring, picnic table, dump, water hookup, and 30 amp electric. It is nicely situated between Seattle and Olympic National park so that you can explore both of them during an extended stay. Cell service is also pretty good on all carriers.

Private, but not what I expected.

We were under a time crunch to find someplace, and this sounded good. While the location wasn't really misrepresented, I was expecting something different. Unless you stay in the spot that's pretty open and next to a fairly busy road, the path to get to the other two sites is very steep (and still not far from the road). Road noise was a bit of a factor. We did not venture out to the nearby food places, but only passed a gas station/convenience store. I assume the other places were in the opposite direction. Definitely not walkable, as there was no sidewalk/room on either side of the road, and not safe. All in all, a decent spot to spend the night, but not necessarily what I was looking for in a camping spot. I take responsibility for my expectations vs. reality. I was just thinking something different, but as I said, nothing was misrepresented.

Quiet spot

Campsite was close to a cute little sandwich shop with ice cream, pizza , sandwiches etc. Pet friendly! Bring some bug spray, as there is a tiny bit of running water you can hear nearby:) Saw some deer too!
