Found a nice spot on the pond that had a pre-existing fire pit. Stayed on a Saturday night so got free classic rock live band music from the bar on the property (which ended around 9PM). When I checked in, they had me register in a Harvesthosts book even though this was a paid Hipcamp reservation. Hostess did not have map to provide but the directions were simple, drive up the dirt road past the barns/containers and park anywhere in that area including by the pond.

Kimberly was very responsive. Directions were excellent. Parking was easy. Spot was level. It was very quiet. Loved seeing the Alpacas and cattle. There is also a talkative peacock and 2 friendly cats. There is a dog kennel nearby which got lively with the thunderstorm but not a big deal. We didn’t have cell service with Verizon but our friends with AT&T did. I like that they have firewood and eggs for sale there. It was very quiet overnight. Bring bug spray or a way to keep them at bay. We used a fan and two thermacell bug repellent devices and we were fine. We will be back. Close to lots of things to do.

Weekend Trip to Camp Cedar Creek

David’s land is beautiful and picturesque for camping. We originally had site 4 booked, but site 1 also opened up, and David showed us both sites and let us choose. We went with site 1 because it was right next to the creek (site 4 still has a nice overlook of the creek and is more separated from the other sites, if that’s your preference). All of the sights seem to have plenty of privacy. David was super nice and helpful. He even helped us unload and load our gear in his truck since site 1 was difficult to drive up to in a vehicle with low clearance. And again, site 1 rules. It’s fantastic. We can’t wait to come back.

The National Park District owns the house which is right in front of the path that leads to the vacant lot. Also I have a legal easement to cross the national park districts land. And there is a kayak drop in off of the Antietam Creek to the right just before entering the path next to the historical Harpers ferry Rd bridge Location Location——- Antietam Creek bridge / Harpers Ferry rd. / Antietam Creek / White House on corner (national Park district owns White House on corner) You will see a red gate that you will pass during daylight hours 1000 feet on your right from there is raw land on the Antietam Creek. The only way to get in the property is to walk past the national park district during dusk to dawn hours. Please abide by these rules. It makes it safe for the campers, but if you do not comply, you will not be allowed back and the police can be called because this is the national park District that you walk past. We do have a legal easement agreement but that easement is only allowed Daylight hours. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive. Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. It offers peaceful and private fishing for trout, bass, suckers and several varieties of pan fish. Cool off in the summer with a dip in the cool clean waters or relax and read a book with the sounds of nature. You can enjoy the cows, horses and goats who love the attention! However we ask you let us know before trying to pet or interact with the animals because we do have a Livestock Guardian Dog inside the fence with them and she is very protective of her herd. In the spring and summer we offer for sale fresh eggs and organic produce to our guest. Our property is located in the heart of Fort Valley. We have miles of hiking trails all around. There are 2 horse back riding camps in the area to offer a beautiful view of our area on horseback. The activities are endless. Several excellent wineries are within a short diving distance. There is a fire ring at each site and we provide a free bundle of wood to each guest with more bundles available for $4 each. A porta potty is also located on the property for our guest. Please read the rules and recomendations posted at the site when you arrive. There is no lifeguard on duty, so you swim at your own risk. Although the creek is pretty shallow most of the time, we ask that if you have children, they are supervised at all times, especially around the water. We think you will love our little piece of heaven and we look forward to your visit!
