The wooded area is next to my house. There's about 4 acres to explore and a gravel road rarely traveled for a nice walk to a view for a great sunset. Harrisonburg is 5 minutes from here and has lots of night life, micro breweries etc. I have long power cords if you need electric at the campsite. You may hear owls hooting at night. The campsite is under white pines with a thick bed of pine needles. There are several campsites under the red cedar trees that are naturally bug and mosquito resistant. Shenandoah National Park is about 45 minutes away if you go to the 33 entrance and 45 minutes away to go to the Luray entrance. Lots of bears there and hikes to waterfalls. No hunting there. Solar panels provide half of my energy needs. GW National forest has lots of hiking and mt biking and is half an hour away. Great views of the mountains from the campsite area. I'm dedicated to having lots of native plants and trees. I do not spray any pesticides. Plenty of free firewood. Not too far off interstate 81. I give tours of the mushroom farm whenever the weather isn't below freezing. I don't recommend anything larger than a conversion van. Very small pull behind campers are OK . All campers are required to leave every day from 1 to 5. Belongings may be kept here. There is a bathroom inside the house. No showers , please guys relieve yourself behind a tree instead of tying up a bathroom .. Harpine Highway is nearby and does have some trafffic noise but it's not close enough to discourage most campers.

We built an all-season full capacity hot shower bathhouse with flush toilet, A-frame cabin, bigger electrical service, and wider road entrance for 30ft RVs, and Wi-Fi.
We are located 45 minutes from the Shenandoah National Park. My husband and I first lived on this property shortly after marrying 17 yrs ago, we moved to AK and back in 2013 and have been building our homestead from the ground up ever since. We love this mountain and consider our home a Beautiful Magical Place! We daily connect with the glorious natural elements surrounding us and give thanks constantly. We’ve learned a lot over the years about living with The Land and want to share this space with like-minded others. We tend to “rise with the Sun, and sleep when it’s done”, so don’t be surprised if you see David or myself, or our kids playing/working on site. If you like to chat, we’re usually available, if you like your privacy, we respect that too. There are a handful of neighbors, and sometimes cars travel up or down the road, but generally this is a quiet, peaceful area. Our two old time scotch collies keep most wildlife away, but once in a while you get a glimpse of turkey, or hawks, rabbits, etc…. Hiking and exploring the woods is welcome, but don’t stray to the neighbors
We recently acquired a rare chicken breed, Scots Dumpies, and are trying to increase the flock, so there may be a chance to see baby chicks. The Stars do their thing on clear nights and are an amazing sight with the near zero light pollution. We love to view the stars and Moon in all her phases.
We try to keep your need to bring much to a minimum, so we provide plenty of blankets and pillows ( or sleeping bag if desired), dishes and some cookware for over-the-fire meals, towels and wash cloths if a rain barrel “cat bath” is in order :), hand soap and toilet paper too!
Life is in constant fluctuation up here at our mountain home, which is how we like it! Camp out with us and see why!

Camper vans are welcome at the main farm!
Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours.
The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries.

We have a level site to enjoy. Our farm is bordered on 3 sides by water. The campsite is located on Peters Mill Creek. The back of our property is bordered by passage creek. It offers peaceful and private fishing for trout, bass, suckers and several varieties of pan fish. Cool off in the summer with a dip in the cool clean waters or relax and read a book with the sounds of nature. You can enjoy the cows, horses and goats who love the attention! However we ask you let us know before trying to pet or interact with the animals because we do have a Livestock Guardian Dog inside the fence with them and she is very protective of her herd. In the spring and summer we offer for sale fresh eggs and organic produce to our guest. Our property is located in the heart of Fort Valley. We have miles of hiking trails all around. There are 2 horse back riding camps in the area to offer a beautiful view of our area on horseback. The activities are endless. Several excellent wineries are within a short diving distance. There is a fire ring at each site and we provide a free bundle of wood to each guest with more bundles available for $4 each. A porta potty is also located on the property for our guest. Please read the rules and recomendations posted at the site when you arrive. There is no lifeguard on duty, so you swim at your own risk. Although the creek is pretty shallow most of the time, we ask that if you have children, they are supervised at all times, especially around the water. We think you will love our little piece of heaven and we look forward to your visit!

The wooded area is next to my house. There's about 4 acres to explore and a gravel road rarely traveled for a nice walk to a view for a great sunset. Harrisonburg is 5 minutes from here and has lots of night life, micro breweries etc. I have long power cords if you need electric at the campsite. You may hear owls hooting at night. The campsite is under white pines with a thick bed of pine needles. There are several campsites under the red cedar trees that are naturally bug and mosquito resistant. Shenandoah National Park is about 45 minutes away if you go to the 33 entrance and 45 minutes away to go to the Luray entrance. Lots of bears there and hikes to waterfalls. No hunting there. Solar panels provide half of my energy needs. GW National forest has lots of hiking and mt biking and is half an hour away. Great views of the mountains from the campsite area. I'm dedicated to having lots of native plants and trees. I do not spray any pesticides. Plenty of free firewood. Not too far off interstate 81. I give tours of the mushroom farm whenever the weather isn't below freezing. I don't recommend anything larger than a conversion van. Very small pull behind campers are OK . All campers are required to leave every day from 1 to 5. Belongings may be kept here. There is a bathroom inside the house. No showers , please guys relieve yourself behind a tree instead of tying up a bathroom .. Harpine Highway is nearby and does have some trafffic noise but it's not close enough to discourage most campers.

We built an all-season full capacity hot shower bathhouse with flush toilet, A-frame cabin, bigger electrical service, and wider road entrance for 30ft RVs, and Wi-Fi.
We are located 45 minutes from the Shenandoah National Park. My husband and I first lived on this property shortly after marrying 17 yrs ago, we moved to AK and back in 2013 and have been building our homestead from the ground up ever since. We love this mountain and consider our home a Beautiful Magical Place! We daily connect with the glorious natural elements surrounding us and give thanks constantly. We’ve learned a lot over the years about living with The Land and want to share this space with like-minded others. We tend to “rise with the Sun, and sleep when it’s done”, so don’t be surprised if you see David or myself, or our kids playing/working on site. If you like to chat, we’re usually available, if you like your privacy, we respect that too. There are a handful of neighbors, and sometimes cars travel up or down the road, but generally this is a quiet, peaceful area. Our two old time scotch collies keep most wildlife away, but once in a while you get a glimpse of turkey, or hawks, rabbits, etc…. Hiking and exploring the woods is welcome, but don’t stray to the neighbors
We recently acquired a rare chicken breed, Scots Dumpies, and are trying to increase the flock, so there may be a chance to see baby chicks. The Stars do their thing on clear nights and are an amazing sight with the near zero light pollution. We love to view the stars and Moon in all her phases.
We try to keep your need to bring much to a minimum, so we provide plenty of blankets and pillows ( or sleeping bag if desired), dishes and some cookware for over-the-fire meals, towels and wash cloths if a rain barrel “cat bath” is in order :), hand soap and toilet paper too!
Life is in constant fluctuation up here at our mountain home, which is how we like it! Camp out with us and see why!

Camper vans are welcome at the main farm!
Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours.
The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries.

We have a level site to enjoy. Our farm is bordered on 3 sides by water. The campsite is located on Peters Mill Creek. The back of our property is bordered by passage creek. It offers peaceful and private fishing for trout, bass, suckers and several varieties of pan fish. Cool off in the summer with a dip in the cool clean waters or relax and read a book with the sounds of nature. You can enjoy the cows, horses and goats who love the attention! However we ask you let us know before trying to pet or interact with the animals because we do have a Livestock Guardian Dog inside the fence with them and she is very protective of her herd. In the spring and summer we offer for sale fresh eggs and organic produce to our guest. Our property is located in the heart of Fort Valley. We have miles of hiking trails all around. There are 2 horse back riding camps in the area to offer a beautiful view of our area on horseback. The activities are endless. Several excellent wineries are within a short diving distance. There is a fire ring at each site and we provide a free bundle of wood to each guest with more bundles available for $4 each. A porta potty is also located on the property for our guest. Please read the rules and recomendations posted at the site when you arrive. There is no lifeguard on duty, so you swim at your own risk. Although the creek is pretty shallow most of the time, we ask that if you have children, they are supervised at all times, especially around the water. We think you will love our little piece of heaven and we look forward to your visit!

3 nights at Camp Shenandoah Meadows
Our time there was nice & peaceful. The cabin was well stocked, comfortable, & warm. The restroom facility was comfortable to use, particularly with the heater in there! The resident black cats were a welcoming addition as well - they love to play and snuggle, and appear to be well fed lol. The access to firewood was great as well, though inventory was low. The owner was very responsive and kind. 10/10 would stay again!

My friend and I stayed for Saturday through Tuesday and couldn’t be more impressed by the camp and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The views are beautiful (sunrise especially), the camp is clean, the bathrooms and showers were better then my dorm hall in college so for camping it was a 10/10, the showers were warm, and the host was quick to respond with any problems we had. Despite being pretty far out in nowhere I had only a little issue finding service. Only note of warning is that the roads need some serious maintenance. The road into camp was rough but my tiny sedan was able to do it but the roads to the campsite section would have been completely inaccessible to most cars with less clearance.
Overall amazing, I fully plan to return next time I’m in the area and have already recommended it to others.

Convenient location for anyone headed to check out Shenandoah! Nice local options nearby for food and drink. The site itself was lovely, nice views, plenty of space. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Fiddle Head Camp! The property was beautiful, and Jennifer and John were incredibly welcoming. The campsite itself felt remote and was beautiful, while still having some amenities on site. But the real stars of the show were the animals. We loved all of the fur and feather babies on the site. We highly recommend the Snacks and Cuddles experience! The proximity to Old Rag and Bear Church Rock was a huge plus for us. We’d love to stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Fat Owl Farm
This cabin was a gem! Just did a short overnight to get close to Shenandoah, but I honestly could have stayed there for days. It's a rustic one room cabin that's perfect if you want a quiet, unplugged existence. Would be great for a meditation retreat or writing session- the small wood stove adds to the ambience for night reading, etc. Also, the collies were great greeters and companions, very sweet dogs.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We arrived later in the evening from DC but in the morning went down to the farm stand where we met Jennifer and all her various sweet animals. Our site was nice and private and we made a great fire with wood purchased right near the site. Will absolutely be booking to stay here again!

V's land was the perfect spot for our quick trip to Shenandoah! His instructions for getting there and what kind of vehicle needed were spot on and he was very communicative whenever I reached out. There was some firewood on site but I am not sure if it was left by last campers or him. We brought our own and used it as it recently rained when we camped. Beautiful fireplace and plenty of room to set up our tent, even though half of the area was a bit muddy from recent rain. It has a beautiful view of the sunrise in the morning and we were fortunate enough to wake up to snow our last morning there! Will definitely come back to this site if I get back to the area!

1 night at Fairy Glen Farm
The yurt at fairy glen is lovely! Though it rained on our stay, we still loved it and felt cozy, especially with the rain sound. The birds were amazing as our alarm clock in the morning. The property is so nice and we got their pretty black cat as our tour guide! We will definitely come back! 😌

Jennifer and her partner were warm, friendly, responsive, and kind. Our honeymoon was made absolutely poetic by waking to a snow covered ground and a gingerly cared for goose egg wrapped in the warm wool of Josie. The map provided was detailed and offered many a good adventure. The eggs we gifted to our new landlord who enjoyed, and we are still sipping the camp roasted coffee with memories of sweetness dancing us to peace in this crazy world. Thank you for showing up and offering your gifts and talents to the world that we might share in such sweet community.

This is my third winter in a row staying at Collie Cottage. It’s my favorite place to get away when it’s a little too cold outside to camp. The cabin is perfectly appointed for a comfortable yet minimal experience, and the hosts are friendly while also giving you plenty of privacy. Hope to be back soon!
