Welcome to our small Farm, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm. Enjoy an evening under the stars with fireflies and a campfire after a long day hike, fly fishing on one of our beautiful trout steams or touring the local vineyards and breweries.
We currently offer one cottage, glamping and a few campsites for our guests. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway, it can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm!
Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours.
The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries.

The wooded area is next to my house. There's about 4 acres to explore and a gravel road rarely traveled for a nice walk to a view for a great sunset. Harrisonburg is 5 minutes from here and has lots of night life, micro breweries etc. I have long power cords if you need electric at the campsite. You may hear owls hooting at night. The campsite is under white pines with a thick bed of pine needles. There are several campsites under the red cedar trees that are naturally bug and mosquito resistant. Shenandoah National Park is about 45 minutes away if you go to the 33 entrance and 45 minutes away to go to the Luray entrance. Lots of bears there and hikes to waterfalls. No hunting there. Solar panels provide half of my energy needs. GW National forest has lots of hiking and mt biking and is half an hour away. Great views of the mountains from the campsite area. I'm dedicated to having lots of native plants and trees. I do not spray any pesticides. Plenty of free firewood. Not too far off interstate 81. I give tours of the mushroom farm whenever the weather isn't below freezing. I don't recommend anything larger than a conversion van. Very small pull behind campers are OK . All campers are required to leave every day from 1 to 5. Belongings may be kept here. There is a bathroom inside the house. No showers , please guys relieve yourself behind a tree instead of tying up a bathroom .. Harpine Highway is nearby and does have some trafffic noise but it's not close enough to discourage most campers.

One site has electric hookup and fresh water available from the well. Bring your kayak, canoe or tube to spend the day floating. The night sky is brilliant by the river because there is no ambient light to reduce visibility. The quaint Town of Floyd is just 7 miles away. The Floyd Fest site is 20 miles away. This place is so great! The host was super friendly and helpful. Gave us lots of great recommendations for things to do near the area. The campsite had a great set up next to the creek! A couple of great swimming spots! Lots of things to do near by! There's about 3 or 4 off road trails for people that are into that! And lots of great hikes in the area too! We had a group of 8 people including 3 younger kids and we all had a lot of fun! There's a lot to explore in the campsite if you rather stay and not drive, like finding fossils near the creek!
We did see a couple harmless water snakes that kept to themselves and swam away. Lots of crawdads in the water and lots of small fish to try fish. Very cool spot for fly fishing too!
Would definitely recommend to anybody trying to book!

I cant say enough about Frans place! Now once you enter you may feel like you entered in the wrong place. A sign is on a chair telling you to walk down steps to check in..no worries. Buddy the big loveable most precious dog in the world will greet you and show you where to go. You check in woth someone who helps.run the property. You may see lots of people(lots meaning 6 or 7) walking around. No worries again. The all live there and work together to keep thw property working. Its a got a ✌️ peace lets live together vibe! And thats my kind of vibe! Not in a weird way but a beautiful appreciation for rhe earth way. They have turkey, guineas, roosters, Mr Duck, Allie thw old dog, Buddy the most precious dog who walks you back to your campsite at night, tons of butterflies, chicks, Cats...etc! Beautiful piece of property that has butterflies everywhere! Im a nature lo er and even more an animal lo er. After I talked to them and learned about their mission, how they all came together and how unspoiled they wnat thos land to remain, I felt like I was home. My friend and I popped our tent,ate and walked around the property after our hike and we talked to the turkey who had a lot to say. They even visited our site! Buddy came there to greet us but I think the turkey came there to let us know it was time to go! I slept like a baby...and If you know me...I never sleep! I love Fran and listening to her. I cant wait to go back. Thinking about gathering around 6 women for a retreat!

Beaverdam Falls was amazing. We stayed at the Cattails site just a short walk from the falls. The tent has a beautiful view of the wetland - a great place to relax and birdwatch. The campsite was thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need.

Amazing experience. Ned is very friendly, the sites are well spaced and equipped with lights and a fire pit. There is a sweet swimming hole right down a short trail. Able to buy eggs from his chickens, and the greatest part was Ned and his partner cooked us an amazing meal for a great price. (Chicken with mushroom gravy, rice, and salad with homemade maple syrup dressing.) I would highly recommend staying here, and hope to again!

Loved my little cabin - I was greeted upon arrival by the cutest puppy- the bed in my cabin was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. It was very quiet except for animal sounds which were relaxing. Everything was cozy and perfect. 10/10

The A-frame by the waterfalls was the perfect oasis I could ask for. The cabin was full of supplies, and the land was full of places to explore. Beau came to greet me, and he was very kind and helpful. Can’t wait to stay again next spring break!

Would also highly recommend their add on of fresh eggs and produce, it’ll be a delicious farm fresh add on for your stay.
