Woody’s land was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and completely at ease. The property is spacious, peaceful, and beautifully maintained perfect for a relaxing getaway with friends. We especially loved how private and quiet it felt, surrounded by nature but still easy to access. The campsite had everything we needed and more. The views were stunning, and the stars at night were magical. Woody was a fantastic host friendly, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We made some unforgettable memories here, from campfire chats to exploring the area, and we’re already talking about coming back. If you’re looking for a place to disconnect and recharge with good company, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Seco Ridge Campgrounds

Even though there was a huge storm Friday night, we still had a great time! We stayed at site 7 and the quiet and seclusion was nice! It also helped the site is on higher ground so we didn’t get flooded. We did a short hike while it was dry and saw a lot of cool things around! Our dogs had a fun time and loved exploring. We definitely plan on going back in the future! Thank you for having us :)

We had a full group out this weekend and this spot did not disappoint! The views throughout the property were amazing and the drive in was a site to behold. Fritz and Ken were extremely hospitable and welcoming. The property is beautiful. Looking forward to taking my wife out later this year.

Fantastic camping on some of the most beautiful land in Texas - this place seriously rivals all Texas state parks. Beautiful topography combined with natural springs and diverse wildlife make this ranch a must see. We saw quail, turkey, whitetail, red stag (including an albino), javelina, horned frog, bass, sunfish, etc. The landowner and his assistant were extremely helpful when it came to booking the reservations, driving directions and navigating the property. Also, there are no cattle on the property, which is nice when it comes to walking around (no landmines to avoid).

1 night at The Charmadillo: Glamping Resort

I can’t say enough good things! The coffee, the tea, the views, the robes, the cozy bed. There was nothing that wasn’t intentional and cared for about this stay. It’s private and remote, but well lit and simple to navigate. There’s much to do in the surrounding areas, such as great breakfast in Camp Verde and amazing steaks and specialty stores in Bandera, Texas Salt Co. was our favorite! I told about 5 people back home how awesome our stay at Charmadillo was, and I hope more people find this gem!

We loved tent camping at the Charmadillo! The peacefulness and amenities were incredible. Pro tip: opt for the google maps directions—Apple Maps took us 30 minutes out of the way originally. Would definitely return and recommend!

I loved the tent areas, they also have cabins and a tipi ⛺️ . It was nice view and the amenities were a great addition to have from the fully equipped kitchen to the pool. I didn’t have a chance to get in the sauna but it’s okay we were there to connect with nature we also saw an armadillo a couple feet’s away.

The Charmadillo is so amazing! Loved using all of the amenities including the sauna, pools, and the incredible bathrooms/showers. The tent sites where super spacious and it was great getting to pick our own spots. Would highly recommend!!

My buddy and I decided to test out our new calling set ups at LAF. It was a decent drive but worth it. The owner is very nice and informative. The description was accurate, you cannot beat the views from the ridge. We spent time checking out each campsite, each offer a cool and unique experience. Best part besides the views, no cell service. Unplug from everyday life and enjoy nature.

The amount of attention to detail is amazing. Coffee was great, loved the community kitchen. The sauna was amazing. Great little place with a good vibe. Also thank you for being eco-friendly/conscious.

This cabin is perfect, tucked among tall trees, completely peaceful, and beautifully secluded. It’s the perfect place to unwind, enjoy nature, and feel truly away from it all. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a great weekend and look forward to another trip in the future. There was lots of room to explore and beautiful views, and don’t forget about the beer! Honestly, better than most full commercial breweries, i had the dark cherry wheat and it was well balanced and delicious. Woody takes pride in his beer and you can taste it.

Beautiful property to explore with endless hills and water holes. Our family (kids & dog) loved every minute of it and we especially liked the lack of cell service so we could truly disconnect! We hope to be back soon.

1100 acres of gorgeous natural land at the headwaters of the Medina River. Crystal clear and clean spring feed water. Fourth-generation family owners. Remote camping. Very private with plenty of varied terrain for hiking swimming, tubing, biking or just hanging out in a hammock enjoying the breeze and peace and quiet. About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING Free firewood for use during your stay and can make a good deal if you want to take some home! As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2.
