The lake was intended to serve primarily as a reservoir for the city of San Antonio, but it had the secondary effect of transforming the economy of Comal County. James's wild bill’s cabin was real cozy. The star gazing was great and so was watching some of the wildlife grazing around the property. Speaking of grazing their pizzas are delicious overall it was a great experience would definitely recommend staying overnight!

It was a beautiful place and lots of deer. The owners are really sweet too which was really welcoming to have. We did tent camping right in the center near the bathroom which was perfect. The bathrooms are very well kept and clean. My boyfriend and I have already decided to go back for another stay.

This was an awesome experience for our young grandchildren. They learned so much about the animals and loved their first ever horse ride. There was a nice playground, hills and rocks. Things we don’t have at home. I would definitely do it again.

Was a great location right off the highway and very quiet. It is a campground and event location with a nice amount of wildlife within the fenced area. We didn't have much time since we were passing through but would love to return and spend some time here. Our spot was in the front but still was very quiet and couldn't hear the highway. Only possible negative would be that the front pull through sites were right next to each other and would have been on top of others if the row had been full. But the site was good and the hookups were very easy.

Private hot tub for two is perfect for watching the wild life walk by and stare at the stars at night.

Wow. What a great place. Exceeding expectations for sure. So many nice touches that didn’t have to be there. Everything was clean and tidy. Love the fire pit and the hot tub and the outdoor bathroom. The camper itself was perfect. Very warm and cozy. A lot of effort was put into making this a great experience. I highly recommend the Laa Lodge!

Wow! We stayed in the Vineyard cabin and it was beautiful! The cabin had everything we needed. The bathrooms, kitchen, linens, everything was spotless. The hot tub overlooking the creek was such an amazing touch. We were even able to go see the ponies! I would highly recommend and will definitely be back!!

Beautiful private-feeling cabin with a private AMAZING hot tub and all the necessary essentials!! This was a pleasure of a getaway!!! And as a beautiful bonus, we were able to pet and connect with the free-roaming miniature horses!! 10/10!!

The host met us at the gate and was very friendly and helpful. He worked with us getting setup for our site. There is deer on the property and we were able to watch the young ones play and frolick outside our rig windows. It is a good place to stop for an overnight.
