There are 3 campsites located in the gap of the little Mahanoy Mountain and line Mountain range along the little Mahanoy creek. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

The White Squirrel Properties include a cabin, rental pavilion and camp site. The camp site sits at the top of a hill and provides a secluded flat site to pitch your tent or park your van/truck camper/truck top tent.
You will have this space to yourself.
The view is breathtaking - you have a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River, numerous sets of mountain ranges, and you are surrounded by beautiful fields. There is a rustic picnic table and a more modern high top table set with an umbrella, for your use. We have also added 4 hammock chairs that you can relax in while enjoying a glass of wine. There is a wooden platform with a small structure on it. You can stand underneath the platform and it can provide some shelter, if needed. (The structure is being renovated for a new experience next summer.)
The pavilion is a short walk and has 2 bathrooms, a shower, and a kitchen. **The kitchen is only available if the pavilion is not being rented**. There is an additional fee to rent the kitchen. If you are interested, please message me after booking. This can be added at checkout. Deer come out nightly on this peaceful property. You won’t be disappointed.

The area has some of the finest trout fishing with the streams and lakes nearby such as Standing Stone Creek, Juniata River, Little Juniata and the famous Spruce Creek. We are centrally situated between State College PA, and historic Huntingdon PA home of Juniata College, and Belleville PA (Home to the second oldest Amish community in the country) where you can attend the famous sale every Wednesday.

Greene Kitchen Farm has been farmed by the Greene family since 2013. If you step back in time a few owners, the Kitchen family with 8 boys and a girl farmed the land that surrounds the little tributary to Montour Run. The Greenes have been pasturing the majority of the land in nature's image with an eye toward biomimicry and an agro-forestal, savannah landscape. The herbivores pulse through the landscape with flocks of birds following them.
Since the livestock have been fenced out of the creek, a little jewel of a wildlife refuge traverses the farm from northwest to southeast. This riparian zones shades the creek, protects the water quality, and provides great habitat for coyotes, minks, eagles, white-tailed deer, groundhogs, hawks, squirrels, woodcock, and a variety of songbirds. 3 nights at Mulberry Acres
Nice little cabin that made camping in January comfortable with heating. Offered basic necessities for cooking. No running water but there was a new edition built on for a bathroom instead of going outside to hike up a hill to a bathroom. There’s rain collection for flushing the toilet and there’s well water to grab drinkable water from anytime. The host was nice enough to fill both water jugs before we arrived. Very friendly people, I can tell they love their animals. The farm includes, but not limited to; 2 emus, 2 dogs, some cows, bunch of pigs, a goat, and a retired mustang horse named Charles. Definitely recommend doing a tour of the farm as you can be as interactive as you want with the animals. Do bring tall boots or shoes you don’t mind getting muddy if it’s rained recently or if you’ve never been on a farm. It is a farm after all, get used to the chance of getting messy if you love animals. We had a great time exploring the trails they had to offer even while it was raining. I will say some of the trails are very steep on a hill so be cautious while exploring. This time of year is maple tapping which I would of loved to do, but circumstances didn’t allow it and that’s okay, maybe next time! Overall, a really enjoyable time here and we are planning on coming back in the spring/summer to possibly kayak and pick wild berries on the trails. Can’t wait to come back, thank you for hosting us.

Everything was awesome. The little cabin stayed so warm and was the perfect size for our family of three plus our doggo!
The land was beautiful. Theresa and her husband were both so kind. We loved meeting their farm of animals. And she was easy to get a hold of and easy to chat with. We will definitely be going back. The porta potty is a short walk and they are working on a bunch of upgrades in the cabin too. The emus are wonderful and sweet, we visited them multiple times a day. I could go on and on. 100% recommended for an upgraded camping experience. Look forward to trying them out in warmer weather too!

The property is easy to get to, yet it is remote enough to be wonderfully quiet and private. The over-all area is rich with farmlands and the dedicated people who provide us with our foods. There are not many areas of our USA that have the qualities of this part of Pennsylvania.

Came for an event in Lewisburg and stayed here for the weekend, what a wonderful secluded site, lots of animals and dogs added to the charm! I wish I had more time to tour the farm and meet all the animals, I will have to come back.
Highly recommend buying firewood from the farm if you plan on having a fire as it burned nicely.

This was our first time booking on Hipcamp and I’m so happy we found Michael’s place. It was peaceful, quiet, private and relaxing. The location was perfect for us, being a short drive to State College. The port-a potty was much appreciated and being able to take a hot shower was a pleasant surprise. Michael personally met us upon arrival to help guide us where to park our truck and pull behind trailer, and to show us how things worked. The hospitality made us feel very welcome and right at home.

I can’t say enough great things about our stay at White Squirrel Overlook! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and there was so much space to stretch out and unwind. We were in town for a dog sporting event, and it was such a gift to return each day to a hot, sparkling-clean shower after competing. Audra was wonderful to communicate with—friendly, responsive, and welcoming. We’re already looking forward to booking our next stay!

Weekend Trip to Mulberry Acres
The land is stunning -- much of it an old field with young trees taking over and plumes of wildflowers (currently goldenrod and aster). Great bird habitat. Mowed paths made for a fine adventurous walk. The cabin's bed was very comfortable, the stove was convenient, and our hosts friendly. It was great to have such a secluded spot close to our visit to Shikellamy State Park and Bucknell.

There was a hot shower for us and an outhouse which is a luxury while camping haha. All and all, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay and will be booking here again in the future!

The surrounding hills and countryside were outstanding. Nice open spot to camp on with my trailer. I had such a relaxing stay here. The campsite is tucked away in the woods by a beautiful creek, close enough to the road for convenience, but secluded enough to really feel like a nature escape. Falling asleep to the sound of the water was so peaceful. The unlimited daily firewood bundle was a huge plus and made evenings by the fire extra cozy. There are also some nice little walking trails along the creek that add to the charm of the site.The host was incredibly welcoming. Nearby, I was able to pick up handmade soap and local honey from a local farm. Overall, this spot is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature. Highly recommend!

Lovely site. It feels really private, even though it's not far from the main farm.
I stayed in a two man tent and there is a perfect place to set it up. I enjoyed walking on the little paths behind the campsite, and it was fun to see the variety of farm animals.

What a treat it was to camp on Mike and Heather’s hollow for a few nights. The quiet, the stars, the scenery… this place has it all. The Sunrise spot that we occupied had a real nice “nook” feel to it, a cozy little space with a nice view of the rolling fields nearby. The two other spots are similarly secluded on the expansive camping property. The location was great too, as it was off-the-beaten path but still just 20 minutes to some town amenities, restaurants, and State College. We had a great experience and can’t wait to get back!

Booked two nights with my dog and ended up staying three! The site sits on a small hill with great views of the farm and surrounding area. Even though it’s between the other two sites, it felt private — I barely noticed the other campers. The platform fit my Gazelle T3 tent perfectly, with room for a chair and dog bed.
Loved walking the farm trails with my dog, and the location is super convenient — only six minutes to Bloomsburg’s Main Street (coffee at Martha’s, tacos at Forth Taco, and Endless for books/records). Nearby hikes include the shaded Hess Trail Loop and the Railroad Trail in town, but also walking along the path next to the water in town has amazing views. I even stopped at Mays which is a few mintues from the farm and ate out back while my dog walked around the huge lawn.
All three sites are nice, but the view here really stood out. The hosts were friendly and unobtrusive, and while you’ll hear some farm noise since it’s a working farm, the vibe is peaceful and relaxing. I got to sit and read by the fire for hours each day. Saw a bunch of hawks and it was really cool how there ar birdhouses all along the fencing of the property. Hope to be back again soon to explore the area more!
