The view is even more amazing in person, and there are many other factors that made this an outstanding hipcamp. First, Margaret is an amazing host. She's responsive and very accommodating when we ran into an issue with our tent. Secondly, the site is clean with tons of amenities. There are tons of seating arrangements including Adirondack chairs, swings, bench, and high tops. There's firewood in a shed, a real bathroom with electricity for your hairdryer, etc. The grass around the site was nicely mowed and that makes a huge difference.
We love hipcamp because of the privacy that's lacking in state parks or larger campgrounds, but most hipcamps don't come with this amazing view or even half the amenities. Definitely a top 3 for us.

Absolutely perfect! Beautiful sunset wonderful breeze on the hill, the directions were easy to follow my dogs absolutely loved running around and playing in the fields while my husband and myself sat on the deck overlooking the river there is not enough good I can say about it! We will definitely be back!

White Squirrel Farm is gorgeous! The view is amazing and the spot was clean, had everything you would need (fire wood, fire pit, hammocks, chairs, viewing platform, bathroom, shower, etc!) We took our camper van and had a peaceful evening with our dog. Would love to come back with a bigger group!

Honestly, there are no words to explain how wonderful of an experience we had this weekend. Between excellent views. Conveniently close attractions and restaurants, we couldn’t have asked for a better time. Such a cute little location, run by awesome people. Looking forward to next season!

We had a perfect stay and would absolutely come back. The host was very responsive and had great communication from booking through check-in, making everything easy.
The campsite itself is incredible. The views overlooking the Susquehanna River and surrounding mountains are even better in person, especially at sunrise and sunset. It was peaceful, quiet, and exactly what we were looking for. We loved relaxing around the fire pit and hammock area while taking in the scenery.
The shared pavilion with the bathrooms, shower, and kitchen was spotless and very well maintained. Having clean facilities while still feeling like you were truly camping was a huge plus.
The location was also great—only about 10 minutes from Giant, so grabbing groceries or anything we forgot was quick and convenient.
If you’re looking for a quiet campsite with amazing views, excellent amenities, and a wonderful host, this is it. Highly recommend!

Amazing Views and A+ Renovations

This was our second time camping at White Squirrel and it was by far one of the best camping trips to date. White Squirrel has undergone a massive renovation since our first visit back in 2024. The camp site has been upgraded to having a full bathroom and hot/cold shower on site vs having to walk down to the pavilion. In addition, the platform structure has been fully finished into a composite deck lookout complete with lighting, Adirondack chairs, tables and electricity access. The views remain some of the best in all of Halifax, PA and truly a picture perfect camp site for both car and tent camping. Our group of 8 had no problem fitting on the site. Overall, I highly recommend White Squirrel and can't wait until our return!

Just got back from an amazing stay at this campsite. The views were absolutely stunning, and the amenities made everything super comfortable. The surrounding area had everything we needed close by, which made the trip even easier. On top of that, the host was fantastic—friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. This was indeed a gorgeous spot. I loved the trails around the area and the relative ease of getting to the location. Very peaceful and private. Bathroom with running water was nearby; no working shower (or at least I couldn't find it in the dark).

What a view!!!

Audra was really responsive and easy to contact.
The view is amazing and the site is really well maintained with outdoor furnitures and a little firepit. There is a little house with a terrace and they're building a bathroom and a shower under. It will be perfect for the summer when finish.
We were able to use the restroom and shower (hot water, a luxe ☺️) at the pavilion.m down the hill.
We definitely will come back in the summer to enjoy everything!

I can’t say enough great things about our stay at White Squirrel Overlook! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and there was so much space to stretch out and unwind. We were in town for a dog sporting event, and it was such a gift to return each day to a hot, sparkling-clean shower after competing. Audra was wonderful to communicate with—friendly, responsive, and welcoming. We’re already looking forward to booking our next stay!

Absolutely incredible site! Amazing views, very private, convenient facilities located nearby. Nice to have a spot to hang out and play games if it rains. Really enjoyed the lookout platform as well. There's a bathroom in shower being finished on site as well that will be super nice to have. Saw a deer in the fields each day we were there. Host was very responsive and helpful! We will definitely be back!

Incredible! We stayed here for my husband’s birthday and were completely blown away….the views are just breathtaking. Audra was very responsive whenever we messaged her and you can tell that they have put a lot of time, money and thought into the setup, including the pavilion at the base of the hill and the new upcoming bathrooms at the campsite. There is also a rooftop deck for even more spectacular views!
My husband and I brought our paddle boards and paddled on the river all day (just a three minute drive from the site). Then we came back and enjoyed dinner at our campsite :) In the morning a thunderstorm came through, which we thoroughly enjoyed watching, while sipping coffee from inside our van. Thank you so much for offering this to the public. We will absolutely be coming back!

Beautiful views and solitude. Clean bathrooms. Super accommodating host even though I was a last minute booking. I had a great time and slept like a baby. Wasn’t up to cooking but there’s a great little restaurant down the road called Fire & Ice that does take out smoked meats.!! You get what you pay for - and this is very high end camping. I felt safe staying here as a solo female traveler.

Overall great private camping spot! Perfect for bringing the dog as well. We ate at Fire and Ice Smokehouse and Creamery and it was incredible!
Only downside is, in my opinion, the price is a little high for a camp site, but for me it was well worth it to have the private site for my dogs first camping trip.

This property is simply beautiful, such gorgeous views. We loved watching sunsets by the fire and how private this campsite is. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return again soon. Audra is really easy to work with and so friendly and welcoming. She was very informative and helpful and made herself available if needed. The bath house was a short walk down a hill and very clean. It was great having access to a flushing toilet and hot shower. We played some basketball at the pavilion which was really fun. Overall, I highly recommend this site!

This spot definitely exceeded expectation. The view is ridiculous...pictures just don't do it justice. Pavilion access allowed for very nice facilities as well as baseball and basketball for the kids. Fishing at Fort Halifax was easily doable and Lake Tobias is just down the road. We certainly plan on a return visit down the road

Spectacular 360° View

This is the most incredible site I have booked on Hipcamp (so far). The 360° views are absolutely breathtaking. No photo could ever do it justice. That said, having the amazing views also means that the site is exposed. Make sure to be prepared to secure your gear/tent down well if any wind is forecasted. I used a hot tent setup over the holidays and had an amazing time with my pup. Having a heated shower and bathroom available was a great amenity. 4 wheel drive would be recommended. I have a 2WD Honda Civic. While I able to make it up to the site, I could foresee having issues in bad weather. Audra was an amazing host and quick to respond. I will definitely be recommending this place to others and hope to return soon!
