Swimming is offered on the Scott River a few miles from the Ranch or at smaller streams nearby. If you love history, Scott Valley has opportunities to learn more about the Old West. Our Valley was formerly known as Beaver Valley, and played an important role during the settlement of the West. Fort Jones was a military establishment, and the entire area was very active during the Gold Rush. Many historic sites are found in and around the local communities of Fort Jones, Greenview, Etna, and Callahan. The Fort Jones Museum holds a lot of information about our two local native American tribes: the Shasta and Karuk. It is also famous for its fabulous collection of rocks and minerals.
