Amazing views. Quiet and secluded. Close to many natural wonders and sight-seeing. The birds on the lake were wonderful to watch and added an extra element to the whole experience. The only issue we came across was that toilets were listed on the website but there were none upon arrival. This was a minor issue for one guest of ours who has sensory issues, but it didn't make the trip any less enjoyable. Kevin was a very kind and helpful host. Thanks for having us!

We loved staying in our trailer at the Meadow Mountain View site! It was so peaceful and quiet. The meadow was blooming and the lake had water, which in turn attracted so many incredible birds - white pelicans, bald eagles, ospreys, Canada geese and even sandhill cranes. The ranch is beautiful as are the views of Mt. McLoughlin. Highly recommended.

Was just passing through, but wish I could have spent way more time out here! Very beautiful land and spacious site. Host was very friendly, helpful, and from the same area of south Louisiana as me. Small world!!

Loved my overnight stay. Beautiful view over the lake from the site (Echo Cove). I caught a hazy sunset then woke up to the sun rising over the volcano behind the lake. So dreamy. Kevin was thoughtful and communicative. Thanks!

It is very simple and quiet and the views are breathtaking. It is not an improved campsite, so if you’re looking for luxury, this isn’t for you. If you are looking for a secluded getaway that is free from the hustle and bustle and let your dogs off leash with you and you love dry camping and don’t like neighbors, This is the place for you. We absolutely loved it, We will definitely be back.

We had such an amazing time at Willowdale! We would definitely return if we’re in the area again.
It was so quiet and peaceful, the view of the mountain and lake is unmatched, and we felt like we had the place to ourselves it was so private. Kevin is a very welcoming host, and he even invited us to join their 4th of July party they were having at the barn. It felt like a nature preserve with the variety of birds on the lake, coyotes at night, and horses nearby.
Only downside is the access to the lake was pretty muddy/squishy (and lots of cowpies) so we didn’t end up swimming like we planned. Totally fine for our group, and there’s lake access about 7 minute drive away if you want to get in the water. Just a heads up if your priority is to get into the lake!

Nothing fancy but a quiet, off the beaten path spot to overnight. Campsite is nestled among pine trees at the edge of the property with a walking path to the nearby lake. Perfect for my truck bed tent setup.

A fantastic venue - beautiful, peaceful, truly natural. Kevin is a consummate caring host and wonderful educator on the history of the ranch and the care of the horses and cows. Definitely would return.

Kevin was a great host, really outgoing and nice, he gave us useful pieces of advice. The camping spot had a mesmerizing view (volcano, forest, cattle and horses) and we slept very well. It was a perfect overnight stay.

Secluded site, lovely view of the prairie and the volcano. Kevin is a saint. Horse whisperer, people whisperer. On-site spring with cool, clear water (water). Short walk through beautiful woods to Hyatt Lake. Serenaded by coyotes, owls, and mystery creatures ooo lah lah. This is a super-find in the hipcamp universe.

I absolutely loved camping on Kevin‘s land. Our family has already planned to come back a few more times this summer and we will be back next year as well. Kevin is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it if you’re going to be in the area that you stay on Kevin‘s land, it’s beautiful

We tent camped at Kevin’s ranch and he was a fantastic host. Very kind man with big ambitions for the property that we wish him all the best on. The view of Mt McLaughlin was spectacular and there was a lot of space to let the dogs run freely. Lots of history to be learned from him about the buildings and nearby sights. The roads back through the timber to the campsites are more freshly cut but my crosstrek made it just fine and with more use, will only improve. There is no cell phone service but fishing, swimming, hiking, and scavenging for various treasures and treats are all within a few miles and very convenient. We didn’t do horseback rides but anyone who wants a private stay with tons of options for activities, we would highly recommend Willowdale Ranch and Kevin for just that.

This is a beautiful, quiet spot — great place for viewing the night sky. Kevin is a kind, communicative host. He is doing a huge amount of work to rehab this amazing property. Help him out by staying there for a night! You won’t regret it.

Kevin's land is beautiful! He was a very considerate host and even had fire and a fire pit ready for us when we arrived. He is cleaning the area so there are some old barns and houses and a some junk, but I can't wait to see what he'll do with it in the next few years!

Beautiful and quiet piece of propery. I stayed here in late March and it was still a bit early in the season. There was a fair amount of mud and snow, but I was able to find a dry patch to pitch a tent and have a nice bonfire. Would happily stay again.
