Weekend Trip to Owl Creek Cabin Mountain Getaway

What a beautiful and cozy spot!! Kit was very accommodating and friendly. The cabin was warm, the fire pit was perfect. I was just bummed the outside bathtub wasn't functional at that time, but all in all a great spot and I highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Umpqua's Last Resort

I absolutely loved staying here in my deluxe cabin! It was the perfect personal retreat I needed, the cabin was super clean and cozy, nice fluffy bath towels and the Wolfgang Puck coffee pods were a treat! The park was quiet and at night I could hear the river from my cabin, there is a nice trail down to the river and I was able to spend time by the river in the evening. The location is so close to many waterfalls! Toby and Dustin are super nice hosts! The shared restrooms were clean and the showers hot! I loved the small trails to wander on next to the park. I cant wait to return as this will be my place to stay this coming year, thank you for providing such a nice place to have a get away from the world! My only request would be to allow for a late check out if needed but I ended up leaving early to see more waterfalls!

This campground was perfect. We booked very last minute. We arrived after hours and easy set-up. The host was easy to communicate with even after hours. Very clean! The bathhouse was clean and heated. Nice rain head showers with plenty of hot water. Definitely recommend.

This place is a must stay. We had an amazing time camping here, even if it was so freaking cold the night we stayed. We utilized the free canoe and it was well worth it. The store has everything you need, is reasonably priced, and everyone that works there is so nice. Would recommend and if I'm back around Crater Lake I'll be back for sure.

Hideouts HipCamp Review I loved this place! Partly the location and partly the very nice people there. About the location: it's not for everyone,; it is a bit of a drive including 5 miles on a scrabble road that is fine. But you get out and away from everyone and into a beautiful spot with a great view. It’s also rather rustic that I like that soon they will have a bath house and it’ll be different. There’s an example of how they were nice to me: I am 72 years old and have some mobility issues. they were very cognizant of it and helped me get around a little bit. That was very sweet. I would come back every year if I could.

Such an amazingly gorgeous spot! We felt like we were in a movie. So glad we went in the fall. So many beautiful colors. Russel, the ranch manager was very accommodating and professional. I can’t wait to go back. We did have some rain while we were there and since you have to remove your shoes before entering the cabin, it would be nice to put a shoe tray on the floor for our shoes because the awning on the front door is too small to protect our shoes from rain if left outside. My daughter also thinks some battery or solar string lights inside the cabin would be a nice touch. But all in all it was fabulous. We slept so good. We did a 6 mile hike to the gorge and It was just so incredibly peaceful and beautiful. Thank you.

This was our first stop on a tour testing a camper van. It was a perfect start to our adventure. Spacious lots (and a wide variety of stay outings), loved the dish wash station and the showers (with heated clean bathrooms) were AMAZING! Great proximity to many different waterfalls. Staff were also incredibly responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

The tent and bathrooms were spotless - possibly the cleanest hip camp I’ve stayed at yet! Beautiful and convenient location, thoughtful camp set up, and easy check-in / check-out. Having hot water in the bathrooms was really nice; Tracy also provided a small propane heater for the tent and there’s a very warm comforter on the bed. Would have loved to stay longer!

Our property has been in business in one way or another for over 70 years. The stick built cabins are pre 1950's and no one really knows for sure how old they truly are. We are located on Fort Creek named after the creek that ran through Fort Klamath. Fort Creek is a beautiful 30' wide meandering creek that runs the length of the property north to south. We offer free use of our Old Town Canoes to paddle along it's extent and on up creek to a beaver damn. There is a fun hiking trail that runs over two bridges that span the creek, one covered and one floating. We also offer free catch and release fishing, there are Rainbow and Brown Trout in our waters. Fort Klamath is the birthplace and home of the US Army 1st Cavalry and our property is located on the the Forts Southeastern grounds. We are 9 miles from the southern border of the National Park and 23 miles from the southern Rim and Rim Village. Please note: We do allow pets in some of our sites for $10 per night. Snow season starts in late fall and continues through March. Snowparks, snowy woods, and meadows are nearby for cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The roads to the cabin are plowed, but you'll need all-wheel drive, and tires that are safe for snow and ice. When you arrive, you'll be greeted and briefly introduced to some of the cabin's unique features, including attic stairs to the windowed sleeping loft. Downstairs is a sofa and a sofabed. The coffee cart kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster oven, and microwave. Cook on an outdoor gas grill with a skillet and saucepan, and enjoy outdoor dining at a picnic table. Dishes, linens, and bedding are provided. WiFi speed is suitable for basic use. Mobile phones connect through WiFi. The cabin is non-smoking. Children eight years and up are welcome. Summer recreational areas are nearby with miles of trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail, are nearby. Howard Prairie Lake is across the road. Beautiful property close to Crater Lake National Park. The Wood River runs through it. The 28 acres is mostly undeveloped, but there are a few houses and a restroom outbuilding. Bring your kids, bring your dogs; enjoy the beautiful setting. We have a few kayaks, or there are rental kayaks available nearby. NOTE: Please be aware that the mosquitos can be very bad here at times. Power has recently been going out more frequently due to the Pacific Power's "advanced safety settings". When the power is out the well pump is out, so there is no water. I am happy to provide buckets of river water for "flushing toilets" and pay for showers at the Klamoya Travel Center. I will not be giving refunds for a situation over which I have no control.

We are located in southern Oregon near Crater Lake NP, just off of hwy 62, part of the Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway, more commonly known as the "highway of waterfalls" and near the little town of Prospect on what is known as the beautiful side of Crater Lake NP. Three waterfalls, the Prospect Cafe, and the Historic Hotel are all within a two-mile radius. If you're after that famous pie at Beckie's Cafe, you are 10 minutes close. Our 100 acre ranch allows us to host guests in their own RV's, at camp/tent sites, or in our new A-frame Cabin all located in private, and even secluded, sites. Several well maintained trails wind throughout the property and can be enjoyed by guests. Nature enthusiasts enjoy the hiking, wildlife viewing, and the beautiful ponds and woods. Crater Lake Woodlands is part of the historic Katydid Ranch. Once owned by Boise Cascade who used it both for growing seedlings to replant logged mountain sides and as a vacation getaway for their executives, the story of Katydid Ranch goes back to the early 1900's when it's owner named "Katy" used it as the "half-way" overnight lodging for horse & buggy guests traveling to Crater Lake from the Rogue Valley. Leaving the valley at the crack of dawn, they could arrive at "Katy's" by nightfall, in time for a meal and sound mountain sleep. They'd hitch up at dawn and make it to Crater Lake by nightfall. Historically, the first residents were the Rogue River Takelma and Latgawa native Americans. Latgawa lived in the Rogue Valley of interior southwest Oregon. In their own language "Latgawa" means "those living in the “uplands," though they were also known as the Walumskni by the neighboring Klamath tribes. Specifically, Ha-ne-sakh. The Latgawa were one of two peoples who spoke the Takelma language. They were hunters, gatherers, weavers and fished the Rogue River. They were known to have a stationary settlement and trading post at the Katydid Ranch location. Their tribes lived in the upper Rogue River area extending beyond Prospect and Union up to Crater Lake. Since we've owned the Ranch, we've maintained the custom of welcoming overnight guests and at the same time, we continue to honor the protected wildlife designation given to it back in the 50's. Wildlife viewing is one the delights we share with our guests. Please be mindful of native wildlife keeping dogs on leash so as to avoid chasing and barking at wildlife. Thank you. The animals here include, but are not limited to black tail deer, elk, fox, coyote, ringtailed cat, raccoon, skunk, and also typically farther up the mountain are the elusive mountain lions and black bear which we have never spotted on our property. The ponds and surrounding area are home to migratory to the Oregon Pond turtle, Canada geese, quail, wild turkeys, various owls including the great horned owls, hawks, cranes and eagles. Our pond bird watcher friends spotted Common Mergansers, Ring Necked Ducks, Canada Geese…and a Loon. The bull frogs orchestrate the evening and can be heard at times throughout the day. Katydid Ranch is a wildlife sanctuary. The flora and fauna of the forest is abundant and diverse. This land is home to many native grasses, ferns, and berries, wild flowers, as well as many other edible and medicinal plants and numerous varieties of mushrooms. If you are visiting during blackberry season, feel free to pick, pick, pick and indulge. Katydid trees include old growth Douglas Fir, Ponderosa, Sugar, and Jeffrey Pine, various Cedar tree varieties, Incense Cedar, the majestic Pacific Madrone, Alder, Big Leaf Maple, Black and White Oak, Dog wood, and Vine Maple. About

Warmer months provide endless enjoyment in this small park with a big name. A walking trail connects your campsite to a pristine spring. Fine fishing happens downstream in the headwaters of the Wood River.

Quaking aspen and Ponderosa pine trees form rows of sentinels on both sides of the water. BYOB (bring your own boat) and put in a kayak or canoe. Catch some trophy-sized trout for dinner at your rustic campsite.

Kimball Park serves as a gateway to other activities. An equestrian trail that originates at Collier State Park comes through here. Fort Klamath is just 3 miles to the south. Majestic Crater Lake sits 20 miles to the northwest. Consider camping here to avoid crowds at some of the more popular destinations.

This park opens from mid-April until October. As such, there are just 10 rustic campsites without water. Reserve your spot early, because you can only have nine neighbors at any given time.
