Escape the city chaos and come relax among the trees. We have a 30 acre parcel in unincorporated Columbia County, OR with our home, barn, and animals. The lodging is set away from our home in a private part of the property. We are surrounded by woods and views of the cascade mountains. We have solar panels on the cabin for power, there is potable water in a storage tank that feeds the sink at the deck and the outdoor shower behind the cabin. The toilet is a composting toilet and is set about 100 feet away from the cabin. The CZ trail is close by, there is a trailhead about 1 mile from our driveway. Tucked Away Retreat evolved from empty acreage to an easy retreat from the city and an opportunity to share our love of the rural life. Located in the Chapman area of Scappoose, this area is rich in logging history; the Crown Zellerbach trail is an old logging road and now an 18 mile hiking/biking "story board" of the life and culture of both the Native American Indians that lived in the area and the evolution of logging. Just over the peak of the CZ trail (which is approximately 3 miles from our property) is an old mine, just one example of many hidden areas to explore. Our retreat is just 45 minutes from Portland, yet feels a world away. You can relax in the quiet or explore the trail, the small towns that dot Highway 30 or head to the river. If you continue West on Highway 30, you will pass through many small logging towns, the old Trojan Nuclear site and eventually land in Astoria on the coast.

Tucked Away Retreat is quiet and peaceful yet 45 minutes from Portland.
Located on 4 private acres, watch the deer wander through the property or the hawks float overhead. Bring your bikes and hit the Crown Zellerbach trail, or hike it instead. We are located approximately 0.8 mile from the trail. Visit Sauvie's Island, the largest inland island in the United States.
Paddle or kayak on Scappoose Bay, head up to the Trojan frisbee-golf course, or just relax on the lawn. We are also an easy drive from Vernonia, the Nehalem River and Big Eddy Park.
We offer two sites; Site A is on flat gravel that enjoys full sun. Site A is across from the large grassy area, perfect for sunning and relaxing.
Site B is on gravel on the upper drive and is shaded most of the day. Site B is best suited for camper vans, truck campers or small trailers due to trees along the back curve of the driveway. Large trailers/RV's and motorhomes will fit in Site B but you may need to back in.
Site B is backed by our private, small shop. The two sites are separated by trees. Both sites have 120v, 30amp and water hookups.
The property can accommodate one or two additional RV's in spots adjacent to both sites for multiple vehicle groups; contact us for more information if you are a larger group. Additional vehicles are an extra charge.
Please be aware that we are RV only, we have no outhouse, so we cannot accommodate tents or folks who want to sleep in their vehicle. We will consider an exception if you have a RV/trailer and kids who want to sleep in a tent. Please reach out to us prior to booking for this exception.
We do not allow "shower" tents.
Also please note that there is no cell service once you leave Highway 30; you have to have WiFi calling capabilities to use your cell phone.

Camp on the edge of Forest Park and sleep underneath an evergreen canopy of Douglas fir and big leaf maple.
We have one large forest glade with room for several tents. We book only one group at a time, so you are guaranteed the place to yourselves. We can accommodate up to 15 people, with a max of 5-6 vehicles (parking is tight).
This is a hike-in only campground most suited to backpack style camping. The hike in has two short steep grade sections about 50 feet each. It takes 5-15 minutes depending on fitness level and load. This is not suitable for those with accessibility issues. Pack and dress for backpacking.

This is a secluded, Park Like property with walking trails all the way around it, and some interesting things for kids to spot, especially up Fairy Lane. Walking access is permitted, but you must keep pets on leash and keep an eye on your kids.
In the dry season, typically May through the end of September, fires are not allowed, and please USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU CHOOSE TO SMOKE ONSITE. If you are one of those who just tosses your butts in the underbrush, you will be asked to leave for the safety of our property and guests. There is no smoking allowed inside the cabin, bathroom, or anywhere near the sawmill, or any area North of it.
There is a public bathroom in the middle of the property beside the tree fort. It's well lit and open 24 hours a day. It has a flush toilet and a hot water sink and a HOT shower. * PLEASE NOTE To keep from freezing, the instant hot water heater is disconnected, and hot water, and hot showers ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM NOV 15TH TO MAR 1ST. We try to keep rules to a minimum, but people seem to find creative ways to cause issues. Please park outside the yellow gate in the parking areas noted on the map. Please park on gravel and DON'T DRIVE OFF THE GRAVEL ROADS ONTO THE GRASS. Anita hates it, as you can cause a fire in the summer, and leave muddy ruts in the wet seasons. If you're driving through the trees, you're doing something wrong.
There is plenty of wildlife on the property especially in the couple hours before dark. Best place to spot deer, racoons, porcupines and beaver are down near the pond.

We are located in Banks, Oregon. We are approximately 45 minutes west of downtown Portland. Our camping area is about 5 acres and offers something for everyone. If you have a large RV and need a safe and quiet spot to stay for the night, we got you. We have a large fire pit, Adirondak chairs, a large picnic table, and a swing set for the kids. Family get-togethers or birthday parties are welcome!
We are located just 1.5 miles from The Banks-Vernonia Trail. Bike campers are welcome! Feel free to bring along your 4-legged friends as well. We do not have a fence, so if you do not trust your dog of a leash, please keep them tied up. We have a lot of deer that pass through and untrained dogs love chasing them.
Banks has a few restaurants to choose from: Subway, Dairy Queen, Main Street Pizza, Mary's Mexican Food, Hop-Cycle Brewing to name a few. There is also a Supermarket in town just in case you forgot your S'mores supplies, Spirits, or campfire wood. We are about 20 minutes away from McMenamins Grand Lodge, in Forest Grove, which hosts some great live concerts during the summer.
We have a few fishing spots within about 30 minutes of the property. Hagg lake, Horning's Hideout, Dorman's Pond and the Wilson River are all popular spots.
We have clean well water and 50A electrical hookups. We do not offer dumping of black water, but you can empty your tank at the Elks club in Forest Grove (25-minute drive) for free or Camping World over in Hillsboro. I don't mind if you drain your gray water on the property as long as you use a longer hose to keep it away from the immediate camping area. The parking area for RV's is fairly level and easy to get in and out of.
During the late summer, our 5 apple trees produce great fruit. We also have 2 plum trees, and some blackberries. Feel free to pick what you would like.
Currently, we do not have any public bathroom facilities available for campers, so please plan accordingly. Please, only book if you have an RV with working plumbing. **We will not accept tent campers**

First, Ritchie was a fantastic host, communicative, responsive, kind, and respectful of our privacy. We were looking for a camping alternative in town for a few nights, and the Airstream fit perfectly: quiet, private, and comfortable, and we slept really well! When we wanted more space, we enjoyed the beautiful backyard seating area and the large, shady park right across the street. The hot tub was an added bonus! The neighborhood felt very safe, with lovely homes and friendly neighbors. Overall, a really great stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at the tiny cabin! It’s in a beautiful setting surrounded by green, with cows and sheep close by. It feels very private. We especially loved the outdoor shower, axe throwing and watching the moon rise through the big windows at night. Amy was very accommodating and quick to respond. Only things to be aware of are there is spotty cell service and a steep gravel road to drive up, but we expected both and had no issues. We will definitely be back!!

The Grove campground is amazing. If you can’t tell from the description, there are five or so decent sized clearings. One end has a fire pit, picnic table and propane BBQ. The other end is where the bathroom and washing station is. Between that are multiple little areas that are cleared out for your camping fun.
The clearings aren’t really identifiable, but that makes it nice because you practically just pick a spot in the grass.
The site was very quiet at night. During the day the site is under a flight path for the local airport, so you have that.
One thing I didn’t see mentioned in other reviews is mosquito repellant is an absolute MUST.
I saw another reviewer here who said she was hesitant about saying anything nice about this place because she didn’t want to give away the secret to anyone else, and risk it being booked out next year when she wanted to travel again. She was so right.

Camping on Michelle and Erik’s property was amazing! Michelle was so attentive whenever we needed anything and made sure to check in to make sure we had what we needed. Erik was fantastic for helping us arrange a lovely riding adventure. Overall it was so beautiful and well kept we all were very happy to be there. Make sure to take a kayak down the river if you get a chance, the wildlife was incredible!

We tent camped on Jerilyn's magical property and set up right next to the pond and firepit area. We had an amazing time and my two boys (ages 8 and 10) always had something fun to do. They loved the giant swing, the 3 trampolines, feeding the ducks, and playing with her adorable dog Coconut and the sweetest cuddly Siamese kitten Chanel! Jerilyn was always checking in, making sure we had everything we needed, and she even gave us some aloe straight from her plant after we got sunburnt during a river float. We would love to come back and visit again one day!

As soon as you get to the top of that steep lil hill, you'll understand why this place was voted one of the best Hipcamp's last year. It is clear that Moriah and her family take joy in creating a relaxing and beautiful area filled with fairies, gnomes and all sorts of little fun discoveries for their guests. I spent so much time on the bench swing and in the hammock; it's hard to leave. I immediately booked a second night and this will be my go-to place whenever I'm visiting or passing through the Portland area, and I'll be sure to tell all my traveling friends too!

I had a lovely stay at Amy’s little cabin! It is a beautiful open grassy area with trees all around, quite private, the cabin is super comfortable, with windows all around so you have a great view out, see the deer come through in the evening, morning and evening sun. The outdoor shower is wonderful, plenty of hot water, especially at night with the stars out. Nice little out door kitchen and with some plates, silverware and French press if needed :) I would definitely love to come back.

We were only there for a short time, but enjoyed camping on Jeff's land. It is a lovely shaded spot by a stream. Jeff was friendly and helpful in his communication. Would definitely return!
