Don’t worry, we have a flood light and cameras to keep you and your stuff safe! Then wake up to the smell of our Juniper trees and watch our local group of mule deer grazing through the yard with views of Tumalo Mountain. Just across the street starts the Canal Trail that heads East and West. A 5 min bike ride East along the trail will take you to a Fred Meyer Grocery store, Starbucks, and much much more. Or take the Canal Trail West through the massive 123+ acres of forested public land that connects directly to the Deschutes River Trail (only 4 mins away). Once there, the outdoor activities are endless! Great fishing, bouldering, biking, swimming, rafting, and nature viewing spots are all within a couple minute walk from our home. Heading to the Old Mill or Hayden Homes Amphitheater for some shopping, a concert, restaurants, or drinks? It all starts 3/4 of a mile down the hill! Easy to find. The view of the canal is amazing! If you pull in nose first, you'll have a better view out the side door of your rig, and a bit more privacy. You are parked right near a road that is only busy at rush hour times, it seems like. The road noise wasn't too bad. Michelle's property is beautiful. Michele herself is a very lovely person to talk to. We met 2 of her children as well. Very nice kids. If you have your pup along, go to Pine Nursery Park. It's not far away and their dog park is awesome.

Great space in town. There are houses around on large properties and the RV space is right on the road. The road was busy at times but not bad, and still felt private. We were working all weekend so we didn’t hang out much. Perfect to come back to rest! Thank you and we will consider it next time we’re in town.

I loved camping on Michele’s land! It’s on the outskirts of town on the beautiful Deshutes River, just love listening to the river. Her entire family is just lovely, very helpful and accommodating to any needs that might pop up! I recently had the pleasure of staying at this Hipcamp, and it was an unforgettable experience. The area is absolutely beautiful, highlighted by breathtaking sunsets that painted the sky with vibrant hues in the evening. One of the most charming aspects of our stay was the warm welcome from some friendly locals—a dog, a cat, and even a chicken came to greet us upon arrival. It added a delightful, homely touch to the serene setting. The majestic Juniper tree on the property was another standout feature. Its natural beauty added to the tranquil atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to relax and soak in the surroundings. The campground is close enough to pop into the bend downtown, if that’s what you’re seeking. I would highly recommend this Hipcamp to anyone looking to enjoy nature, friendly animal encounters, and stunning sunsets. It’s an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

I loved tent camping on Gwen’s pastureland. It was quiet, peaceful and so lovely to have a place to prepare my meals, and space for my morning/evening my routines, and such a treat to take in some stargazing before sleep. A couple chickens and a black cat came to visit - love the animal energy. I’m glad I checked out the farm stand down the road as well.

We went to Redmond to attend the Fairwell Music Festival. Kristen’s setup was perfect. The location was quiet and easy to get in and out. We had our two small dogs with us and it was really nice to be able to walk them around the farm. We used this location to visit a number of sites around the area. We made a trip to Crater Lake National Park and it was well worth the couple hours drive. We definitely would recommend this location to others and hope to come back again for another stay.

We had a wonderful experience at Canal View Van/Camper Parking! Michele was such a great host, very kind when welcoming us and saying goodbye, which made us feel truly appreciated. The spot is right by the river, and at night, the sound of the water is incredibly relaxing. The starry sky was beautiful and made the whole stay even more special. The surroundings, with the animals from the mini-farm, were charming and added to the unique atmosphere. We’d definitely love to come back!

This 320 acre plot of land on which you can hike anywhere has been in our family since 1993. Large, graveled spot for tents or two vehicles with excellent view for miles and miles and night star gazing. Primitive outhouse. Juniper forest with sage brush... basically high desert vegetation. We only allow one reservation per night. You can arrange vehicles or tents to not be in view or block any view from house way above. 320 acres to hike and roam. Mitchell is 10 miles away with well stocked grocery and feed store, restaurants, small brewery, and tire shop. We give directions fairly quickly. Road is wide, but steep at top. 4 wheel drive is recommended. Very close to the Painted Hills Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National monument, Ochoco National Forest is seven miles. John Day River for swimming, rafting about 20 minutes. If you can book, it means you can drive on up with out contacting us.  As you drive in if at night, you will see a light on the outhouse.

8 campsites and 2 original Mongolian Gers. The season for the camp sites is from June 1st to end of Sept and the Gers for 2025/2026 winter are blocked out from Nov 15/25 to May 15/26. Pets allowed, toilets on site, campfires permitted when burn ban is not in place. Now up until this year I have provided Free Firewood. I have quit doing that for a variety of reasons, the least being the cost and the work for me. I am encouraging everyone to purchase a Propane Fire Pit if you don't have one by now. I am not to the point yet of saying no big dogs. Talk to me if you think your "big dog" might not fit in. I don't like them running thru other campers sites, so just be respectful. Take them for walks along the lake.. No Yappers, no barking dogs, no pain in the butts. Why would you drive by 46 grocery stores and forget to bring ice? No loud music. I have changed quiet time to 9:00 PM. If you need to listen to the chaos/stressful music I suggest you start a band or become a DJ. What I want folks to get out of being here, whether they are camping or staying in the Gers is just to “take a break”. Relax, appreciate, assess and just listen. I hope what you hear is the sound of life and of course all the Angels that make up this special piece of Heaven. Then there is the silence. The best part of “Heaven”.
