Cornerstone Ranch is a pristine Ranch of about 500 acres on the Rogue River and against the Pacific Ocean offering too many experiences to count. You can even bring your horse... FYI, Hipcamps map for site locations is not correct. Two go next to the driveway and the other four follow the creek. From the South GPS is very accurate to our driveway. Coming from the North, GPS may drop you a few driveways away as that is the property line. Keep driving about another 1/8th mile until you see the large red "Cornerstone Ranch" sign. That is our driveway. Welcome... The ranch offers 6 different campsites. Campfires are allowed (outside of burn bans), and there is a toilet in off season and Port-A-Potties during the summer on site as well. Reviews from guests: "During the night we could hear Elk and the nearby nature! When we woke up we got to visit with the horses, use the really clean port-potty, and chat with Bonnie and Chris the Hosts. They have tons of recommendations, but our favorite was the Indian creek cafe across the river. The areas so great and clean and the host cares about their guests! Would recommend!"

Book both sites for extra large groups or if you need more space/privacy. There is no electricity or running water in the cabin, however a generator can be rented if it is desired. Potable water is also available if you bring a jug to fill. A portable toilet is available on-site. Take advantage of the opportunity to go fishing, swimming, or launch your boat/kayak/tube. Alternatively, simply relax and enjoy the picturesque views of the river and the wildlife in the coastal rainforest. Watch the salmon jump during spawning season in November, or cast a rod from our private fishing spot. We are also a birdwatcher's and rockhounding paradise! Just a few minutes away from town amenities, this location allows you to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the forested river canyon, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are family and fur baby friendly! If you are an animal lover, take the time to enjoy a visit with our cats and chickens too. *Please note, while we have no direct neighbors, we are in a narrow river canyon. There is an active farm and wedding venue across the river. You may hear distant noise of their operations or events, depending on the season. There is also a quarry across the road that operates M-F, from 8a-3p that sometimes can be heard sporadically throughout the day.

This home site has a remarkably peaceful way about it. Recently featured in Southern Oregon Magazine and KCBY 11 TV's ~In Focus~ 'Goin' Green' and Oregon's Solar Home Tour, this is a unique 'green' home. This home was built with environmentally friendly materials. Building with little impact on the surroundings was very important to us during construction. The myrtle hardwood floor in the kitchen and living room was milled on site which came from trees that stood where the house is now. Same story for the beautiful maple flooring in the ½ bath. All of the large beams and fir flooring came from two 4' thick 104 year old douglas fir trees which also stood and were milled where the house is now. The fir trees sprouted after the last forest fire that came through the canyon. One of our neighbors fell a sixty five year old redwood that was over six feet thick! We used some of it as a wonderful wainscot paneling throughout the house. All of the finishes used are no or low VOC. Surrounding the house is native vegetation, huge trees and a few herbs and spices for cooking. You'll enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with labradorite granite counters. The kitchen island has a new five burner gas stove with a convection oven and warming oven. The island has plenty of granite and wood counter space. Hanging from the exhaust hood are stainless, non-stick, and cast iron cookware. We also provide shade grown fair trade coffee and a grinder, espresso machine, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, utensils, chef knives, glasses and frosty cocktail glasses in the freezer. The dining room table has a river view and can seat six comfortably. There is also seating for three at the island bar. From the kitchen you can visit with the folks in the living room thanks to the open floor plan. Beside the wood stove are two chairs and the futon couch with reading lamp. A CD changer, TV with a DVD player and VHS machine are in the downstairs bedroom. Bring your favorite videos or browse our selection of movies. The property has 150 feet of creek frontage with great views of Glenn creek, the forest and distant cliffs. The cabin at Sarah’s place is awesome. It’s warm and cozy with thoughtful touches and the rushing river is blissful. Seeing the salmon spawning and jumping was an extra treat. We loved our stay and are already planning a return trip. The hosts were extremely gracious and helpful - by far the best hosts we have ever encountered on Hipcamp. Thankyou Sarah!!!

We booked a last minute trip and it was a great stay. We booked the cabin and it was nice and cozy with a 1 minute walk to the river. Also the bench and grill which definitely came in handy. Finding the location was easy as well. We did the hot tube option and enjoyed it outside on the deck. Easy to use and nice to be under the trees. Definitely would recommend or stay again.

The cabin is super cozy and very clean. The bed was comfy too. We enjoyed sitting around the campfire by night and the dogs ran around on the beach and we waded in the river by day (which we had all to ourselves)! Our hosts were easy to communicate with, very welcoming and accommodating. There is a bit of occasional noise from a nearby road and farm activity across the river- (if you're looking for a total escape into nature this might not be for you). It was perfect getaway for us --especially not having to spend hours on the road to get there. We look forward to coming back :)

This Hipcamp exceeded our expectations. Super cute and magical. We enjoyed the sauna and hot tub, plus the outdoor showers were nice and warm. The Hobbit House really felt straight out of the shire, and the lights at night made it super cozy. You can tell the hosts put a lot of thought into the place as well as its amenities. 10/10 would stay again

What an incredible spot, do yourself a favor and check out the hobbit house with its delightful skylight to stargaze or wake up to the trees surrounding you! Wasn’t expecting own bathroom or for it to be so secluded. Lovely breakfast as well.

Where to go

North Coast

A weekend getaway from Portland, this region features a mix of coastal communities—namely Astoria, Seaside, Cannon Beach, and Manzanita—plus plenty of state parks such as Hug Point State Recreation Site, famous for its tidepools.
