Yurts are ideal for the Oregon Coast's cool—and oftentimes wet—climate, so it's no surprise that many state parks on the Pacific Ocean offer yurt rentals in their campgrounds. Many are pet-friendly, too, and while most state park yurts come with basic amenities such as electricity, fire pits, bathrooms with hot showers, and futons, you will need to bring your own bedding. Coastal state parks with yurts include Fort Stevens State Park, Nehalem Bay State Park, Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, Beverly Beach State Park, Cape Lookout State Park, South Beach State Park, and Harris Beach State Park, though they do fill up quickly and don't offer the amount of quiet that some travelers need. Fortunately, plenty of locals have private yurts of their own that they rent out via Hipcamp.

Welcome to Sunset Bay Meadows! We have several tent/RV sites, and a yurt. Our spaces are quite large and essentially each site is a group site. Once a dairy farm and part of the old Simpson estate our property offers mushroom picking seasonally whey you may find Chanterelle & Hedgehog mushrooms. We're close to the beach and the Sunset Bay Golf Course is on the same property. Lots of hiking trails and you can connect with Sunset Bay State Park our neighbor. We have a private, secluded campground that is wind sheltered with approximately 20 acres of space in which to use our covered table, picnic tables, fire pit, fire rings at individual campsites, BBQ, sauna and outdoor propane-fired shower. The camp area is tucked away among large spruce trees and open meadows which lead to endless trails on the property, with the option to buy a round of golf at Sunset Bay Golf Course, which is right next door to the camp area. We’re just short of a mile from Sunset Bay, where you will find kayaking, fishing and a great spot for kids. The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. Charleston, just 3.5 miles away, also has some great restaurants and local shops to truly make your stay memorable. Only friendly dogs allowed and leashed or under voice command.

Enjoy this quiet and private forest setting just outside Florence but still close to all the fun. Only 5 minutes to get to the Oregon dunes, beach, Old Town, grocery store, coffee shop, and lakes. Available to rent is a fully furnished 24ft yurt which is beyond "glamping" with all the comforts of a home. It has an attached full bath, queen bed and "XL" size bunk cots, kitchenette, couches, TV, WI-FI, covered deck, firepit and more. Also to rent is a campsite with picnic table, firepit, portable toilet, tent space and gravel drive. Bring own water and pack out all waste. Also a grass field with corn hole and a rope swing to play. (Host home is on site. Your campsite is your private space but outdoor space in general may be shared with host family. Property is home to a free ranging flock of ducks (add "meet the flock" to your booking to hand feed them!), an off-leash family dog Neeka, and our kitty Yin.)

Tim was very help giving us a lay of the land. Camps were spaced out with lots of room for our dogs to run and play. Showers were great touch after a day of your feet in the sand. Over beautiful place to stay.

I loved the serene setting and gorgeous, unrestricted views of the night sky. Although we didn't use the showers or sauna, they were clean and available. The kids thought the chicks and open space to play baseball were the best part of the trip! I also appreciated how easy going and relaxed the site is about friendly dogs. Thanks for a great stay! We'd love to come back. Oh! The portapotties were also spotless!

The yurt was a very comfortable resting spot for us. We loved having the space for moving around in, with the picnic table and fire pit outside. The porta-potties were a short walk away. Tim's instructions could use a fine-tuning, as there were a few features that threw us off: 1. No mention of the barrier gate located after the clubhouse and up the hill past the do not enter sign. It would have been helpful if there were a second HIP CAMP sign there, to let us know we were going the right way. 2. "you will come to the spt where the shower and sauna are".... From the outside, how were we to know that there were the showers and sauna in those little buildings? He knows what they are, but to a first-time visitor, we had no idea what was inside. 3. "You may go ahead and load up on potable water here." We could see a hose attached on the side of what appeared to be somebody's house, but is this what we were to use? It seemed like an invasion of privacy to use that one, but with that being the only place visible, we took the chance, hoping we would not have somebody come out and yell at us. For the benefit of future campers, I suggest that Tim make these points more clear.

What a great spot! the only other people I saw were a couple of chickens :) super quiet, it was perfect. never stayed at a hip camp before but I'm sold, I didn't miss the state parks at all - and it's off-leash even. my dog didn't want to leave!

The yurt was very roomy and comfortable! There were lights and a propane heater and a comfy futon. There was a picnic table and fire ring out front. We arrived after dark and it was a little tricky to navigate to the site in the dark but we managed. We stayed one night and were pleased with how private and remote the campsite was. The view of the stars was incredible due to low light pollution! Highly recommend this "glamping" experience.

I had an amazing stay at this cozy yurt near Coos Bay, Oregon. The property itself is stunning—set on a vast stretch of woodland that is even part of a golf course, it felt like a peaceful retreat tucked away in nature. The yurt was warm, inviting, and the skylight made it extra special. Hearing the nearby stream in the evening and waking up to soft natural light were some of my favorite things about the yurt stay. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make my stay memorable, even taking the time to show me where to find edible mushrooms on the property. It’s clear they genuinely enjoy sharing their land and encouraging guests to explore and connect with the outdoors. The sauna and outdoor-style shower added to the rustic, nature-inspired experience—simple, refreshing, and perfectly in tune with the setting. Overall, this stay was peaceful, unique, and full of thoughtful touches. As a solo female I felt incredibly safe and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, nature-focused getaway. 🌿

This was a gorgeous property with neatly manicured sites that were spread out nicely. Our family absolutely loved the setting in the middle of this forest! Not only was the site great but it was less than a 5-minute drive to Sunset Beach. We had the yurt site so with an older sister and a disabled nephew it was the only way to get us all camping and they loved the yurt which was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this site.

The location to beaches, lakes, and town can't be beat. Great local recommendations as well! The yurt is very homey complete with kitchen essentials such as full-size fridge, 2-burner hot plate, We had duck eggs each morning, and loved hearing the ducks quacking and watching them bathe. We loved looking up to the sky at night from the yurt!

We are so grateful to Janine and her family for letting our pretty large family rent out her yurt and campsite. We loved the ducks greeting us upon our arrival, which she let the little ones feed. Her dog was also a big hit! The cozy yurt had everything we could need or want. The rain coming down on the yurt roof was magical sounding. We loved hanging around the campfire, Janine sells firewood which was super convenient. We made such great memories here and would recommend to anyone who wants to experience glamping close to town!
