Grassy mowed area along the Sixes River on our cattle ranch and cranberry farm. We provide an outdoor shower and composting toilet shared by the 5 camp sites. The shower water is filtered water from a shallow well, but bring water to drink. This campsite lies about 1 mile from the pacific ocean at about 15 feet elevation so it will be cooler than inland camp sites. I believe we are the closest camping to the south side of the Blacklock Hiking Trails. Also next to the Cape Blanco State Airport. (call if you want to fly in and get transport to and from the campsite). Access Road is a single lane in and out (gravel, dirt, and grass). Any towed trailers need to be pulled by a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle to climb back out (in and out procedures for trailers will be provided) Bring a fishing pole or a kayak. Sea-run trout are in the river during the summer (no motorized vehicles allowed in the Sixes River by law. No motorized vehicles in campsite besides automobiles by rule.) - Please be accurate with the number of guests in your party. Please note about lack of signage: The "walters landing" and "92220" on airport road are the only markings to indicate our entrance. We don't want to put any "campground" signs to avoid curious trespassers into the property (we only want invited guests). Campsite Rules: 1. Enjoy. 2. No motorized vehicles besides your auto. 3. Make sure your fun doesn't detract from the fun had by other campers. 4. No illegal activity. 5. Clean up after your pet in the camp and river bank area or anywhere people will be walking or playing. 6. No unfriendly pets, even if they are on a leash. Must be safe with other children and pets and livestock.

You’ll fall asleep to ocean waves, not generators. This isn’t a tourist campground. It’s our home. We’re opening a few of our favorite spots to people who appreciate quiet, nature, and thoughtful presence. Our campsites were built for our family, not mass use. If you like forest stillness and a touch of wildness, you’ll probably love it here. If you’re looking for drive-in glamping with full facilities, this probably isn’t your spot. What to expect: • Walk-in campsites (5 minutes or less from parking) • No RVs, trailers, or car camping • No water, power, or trash service: pack everything out • Shared outhouse: use for bodily waste only! • Optional outdoor shower ($10/person) by request. It's attached to our home and rustic (some love it, others skip it - or wish they’d brought a bathing suit.) • Guided check-in required between 4–7 PM. No arrivals after 8 PM • All communication via Hipcamp messages - no text messages • One check-in per group. If arriving in two vehicles, coordinate timing or walk your party in You’ll park near our greenhouse and home, where you may see chickens, a kiddo on the play structure, or hear a tractor. Our son is a cancer survivor, and our connection to this land runs deep. We’re not a commercial farm - we’re a family practicing stewardship, slow living, and welcoming guests who do the same. We love hosting quiet campers, nature lovers, foragers, backwoods hikers, and families who understand personal space and come prepared. If that’s you, you’ll feel right at home.

We booked late, but the directions provided were spot on and we had no trouble finding this lovely spot by the river. Quiet, open meadow with trees and brush with space between sites so it felt private and serene. Very friendly and helpful host. We would definitely stay here again!

This was easily one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. You can hear the roar of the ocean from the campsites and the calls of seabirds. The water of the river was clear and mild. The host Joe was very kind, welcoming and accommodating. We will absolutely be returning someday!

The access is super close to the 101, although you will hear traffic on a busy night. The 4-legged camp-host was friendly and checked on us a couple times quietly (Neeka!). The neighbor's dog was the loud one. Very private. Flat parking spot, and flat spot for tent. Tent spot was too close to firepit, but we weren't going to use it. So nice to have a picnic table! There was a clean porta-potty.

We camped at Fennel Flats (site #1) for two nights and loved it! The location was beautiful and peaceful. We were the only ones there with our pup, so we had the whole place to ourselves. Even if there were other campers, the sites are spaced far enough apart that it still feels private. The bathroom was clean, and the hot shower was such a treat after a long day outside. At night, we enjoyed stargazing, and our dog Twinkie had the best time running around and exploring. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we’d definitely come back!

I had such a peaceful stay at Fennel Flats. The views were stunning and the outdoor shower was fantastic. It’s a great location near to many things, including a hike to Black Rock Point just down the road! The Great Pyrenees dog was such a friendly love and was so well behaved around my cats as well. 10/10 recommend, will stay again!

Our 3rd time here and it’s as wonderful as ever. Site 3, while a little less private perhaps, has the most lovely river-side views. We saw lots of birds, little fish jumping and could hear the ocean in the distance at night. Love that shower with a river view! We will be back.

We stayed at site #1 and it was an absolute delight, in my opinion best site because of the privacy, and the large space, but honestly there were no bad sites. My dog loved the off leash aspect, lots of space to roam, and the other dogs were very friendly. I embarrassingly missed the firewood when I first arrived (it was in a very obvious space but I must have been distracted by checking out all the awesome campsites) and when I messaged Joe inquiring about the firewood he amazingly showed up and brought us some. Even though I had made the oversight he was gracious and so kind. He is a fantastic host. We slept so soundly, the camp was peaceful and felt very safe tucked in down a long driveway. It was perfect distance to the beach, and to Port Orford and Bandon where we ventured for snacks and site seeing. 10/10 would recommend and come back to camp again!

Such a great location and we'll appointed camp! We stayed at site #1 and had plenty of room between us and other sites. Super well maintained, amazing shower (crazy views and hot!) and composting toilet (also clean, no smells). Blacklock Point trails were spectacular and so close. I hope to be back!
