Weekend Trip to The Land of Milk And Honey

This was a well kept private campsite. We loved seeing the animals at the hobby farm and really enjoyed the stream next to the sight. The pit toilet was convenient and clean. We had some trouble starting the fire because of days of rain, so the firewood was damp. The host brought us some dry kinding and we were able to run to nearby gas station to secure some dry bundles. The host also made some yummy cookies we were able to enjoy. Definitely would come again.

We had such a good time on Melissa's property!!! There was plenty of woods to explore and activities to check out near the pond. Steve introduced us to the chickens and sold us some eggs and firewood which was very helpful. The firewood ended up being a bit green so we had to run out and purchase some but that wasn't an issue at all! There are other campsites nearby and you can hear other campers but it was still very private and peaceful! We ended up befriending some neighbor campers and had a great weekend!!! Great location near some wonderful state parks and preserves as well. We loved our time here!

This was a great, kid-friendly site! If you are looking for a good place to take your kids camping, they have a catch and release pond, sand pit, and bathroom! Not much privacy and could see other campsites nearby. It worked for our needs!

Weekend Trip to GloryField Hospitality Farm

The tent and bathroom setup worked great for us! The shower is 1/2 mile from tent, right by the parking spot. We did not use it or look at it. Toilet is near tent. Super private tent and toilet set up The walk isn't bad and you can use her barn wagon to haul your things if you aren't trying to keep your stuff super clean....worked for us! The friendly host met us upon arrival and told us where to go, super communicable and available if you should need any help. The fishing pond is incredible- you will likely catch smaller large mouth bass but also a couple other types. We caught 10 fish in 2.5 hrs, fishing in the evening and around 10am. Our son had a blast. Even on a cold night, the tent on the hill was suprisingly warm, so I'd rather stay here in milder weather since I'm hot natured. Bring bug spray for ticks if you plan on walking around a lot. Stay out of tall grasses. She gave us an extra bed and bedding for the three of us to sleep comfortable and that took up the whole tent. But our large dog could fit to sleep on the floor at the front entrance with tent zipped shut. There's board games, fire pit and tons of fire wood, grill, drinking water, and water for bathroom sink. Hope this helps someone to book here! Would stay again. Enjoy!

We loved our stay at Melissa’s and couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We also purchased a Swiss log they had made and it burned great! Would definitely recommend this site!

Very clean and nice campground. Sites are a little on the small side perfect for one big tent or 2 small ones. Perfect spot for a getaway. Sites are private enough but you are still able to see and hear other campers close by. The shower and bathroom are about perfect for camping and nicer than other places we've been.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. First, the hosts are wonderful. Was greeted with a sweet treat, and treated very kindly. The spot is perfect. It’s right next to a gorgeous creek and sleeping next to it was phenomenal. It has a surprisingly nice outhouse with water and soap to wash hands. It was very nice to not have to stress about hauling in wood. We will absolutely go back! Don’t think about it, BOOK IT!!

2 nights at Rustic Retreat

I totally loved staying at this rustic retreat! So much nicer than staying in a hotel, woke me up in the morning and a very nice black cat visited me on the morning I left:-) excellent hosts in a very peaceful place to stay. Highly recommended.!

My stay at Lisa's was just magical. The vibe was just heaven to this old hippie's heart who felt like a kid in a candy store exploring all the Wonders that can be found in every corner. This place is so unique warm and welcoming there's a little something for just about everyone unless you just want to hold up in a room alone and then you might as well go to a Motel 6 because this place is all about engaging in life in all forms whether it is chilling out to good music, creating some art or playing music on one of the instruments or cooking a nice meal for the first time in 6 weeks, even just sitting and watching the rain through the beautiful floor to ceiling Windows surrounded by plants. I have already told many friends and I'm planning a return visit. Thank you Lisa you are a gracious and beautiful hostess

This was a cozy spot by the creek. Really enjoyed being able to hear it all night. The outhouse is nice and not far from the tent site. Felt very private. Would come back.

We had such a great time camping at Fairhaven! The campsite was nice with a lot of shaded trees, privacy and a picnic table. We loved how peaceful it was at night and the close proximity to a real toilet (which was especially clean)! Our little ones really loved looking at the chickens and had fun playing in the sandbox area. Melissa, the host, was very communicative and hospitable. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely be back!

We loved camping here. Our new favorite spot. The owners were incredibly kind and went above and beyond on the amenities! We were greeted with cookies (for us and our pup!)--what a start! Those cookies are HEAVEN. Firewood was available, the outhouse was clean (they even provide reading material!). The spot was secluded and the creek babbling in the background was soo relaxing. The farm animals were sweet and didn't mind us visiting everyday with our dog. They provided trash/recycling bins, an excellent cooktop and a well-thought out space to set up camp! We even had trees to hammock in and the grass was cut around the field so we had a wonderful walking path. The turkeys were a hoot to listen to! 😆 We will absolutely be back and feel so lucky to have found this place!

My adult daughter and I do a get away each year to celebrate our birthdays. We both are exhausted professionals and need to truly wind down. Lisa’s place was exactly what we needed. The house is so deeply chill and comfy! So many cool things to look at and touch. The added plus of the hanging hoop really blew my daughter’s mind and I loved watching her play like a girl again. We will 100% be coming back!!!

Vaughn's got a great space. After camping with a group the last couple of trips, I was looking to camp solo and this was a good creekside spot that fit that mood. While I was a lone camper, this spot works for a small group as well, with the benefit of a nice outhouse. Which the sound of the creek will have you visit a few times. Overall, a fantastic spot where you can get a nice mix of farm and nature, and to take a break from the world beyond the creek.

It was a peaceful stay. A nice retreat while in town for worlds WGI (drumline competition). Lisa made breakfast & coffee each morning. Other guests brought their doggo Fox. It was nice having a furry friend around. I hope to come back next year & bring my husband & dog too!

This 5 acre property is loaded with activities! The stocked pond (catch and release) is a great place to teach your kids how to fish. You don't have to be an experienced fisherman to catch a fish in this pond! Swimming, kayaking, paddle boat, cornhole, small beach area for the little ones, and 2 acres of wooded trails for those who enjoy a peaceful walk. Wildlife is abundant and they prefer to be left alone. Please stay on the trails to preserve all vegetation. If you see a fawn or other babies, please do not touch these animals. Momma will be back! If you see one in distress, please contact the host. The community area at the gazebo offers a charcoal grill (charcoal available for purchase), seating, electric outlets, and water. Please be considerate to other guest while using this area. Trash receptacles are available at different areas on the property. Fresh eggs and produce will be available when in season. Please ask if you are interested. Campsites are located in the woods and are primitive. Sites include picnic table, fire pit, and trash can. Campers have access to a bathroom with a shower that is located in the basement of the cabin. All campers need to check-in with the on-site owners. All gear can be transported with a golf cart. Down a private drive, tucked back in the woods, this A frame sits on 3 acres. In the warmer months, the home is far more secluded. In the winter months, neighbors homes are visible through the brush, but we just planted 28 7ft trees to help with this. The property features 2 acres of fenced in property, which is perfect for all size dogs. Hot tub and sauna on large wrap around deck, plus two propane heaters. Top floor features main king size bedroom with large deck. 2 couches and one giant bean bag chair, plus 2 TVs with PS5. 2 king size bedrooms on the main level. All 3 king bedrooms feature black out curtains. A queen "bedroom" in the downstairs next to the bar, pool table, and full gym. Aerial silks on top floor and main level. Two hammocks-- one by the grill and the other tucked in the woods. They are the wonderful cocoon type that you can easily fall asleep in. Beautiful trails weave through the fenced in property. Giant firepit area with plenty of space to pitch tents if some of the group would like to enjoy being outside. Bulb lights spaced around the property. Lots of wildlife that comes to visit, including multiple generations of deer who have been having and raising their young on our property for years. (There is NO hunting on our property) Property backs up to 50 acres of designated Green Space with a small creek that runs through it.

Ohio River experience

California, Ohio is a community on the Ohio River about a twenty minute drive upstream from Cincinnati. Actually the eastern-most neighborhood of Cincinnati, it has it's own small town or quaint village atmosphere. Safe, flat, scenic and walkable, California boasts several dining experiences, one a brewery, and quite a variety of recreational experiences. Riverbend, a music venue in season, is a mile away, possible walking distance, as is Belterra, a race track and casino. The bike trail is a few blocks away and connects to all the other area bike trails including the Loveland Bike Trail along the Wild and Scenic Little Miami River. A local nature preserve, California Woods, offers hiking and nature programs, and there is even the California Golf Course. If watching baseball leagues play games is your cup of tea, there is a large sports complex with ball fields in California. A town park with trees and large, grassy open spaces and small playground is a few blocks away. Bring your game of horse shoes, corn hole, a frisbee to throw, your skateboard, golf cart, or some bikes just to cruise around and take in the scenery. Nearby, and right the Wild and Scenic Little Miami River is Armleder Park, also with walking and biking trails which also connect to the 5 mile loop around Lunken Airport. I have two properties which offer two different kinds of camping, which I have itemized separately in the Hipcamp listings. RV Campers will park on the upper level at the Panama Street address , and have one set of amenities. It is a short walk lead down to the Ohio River where there is a small patio with table and chairs overlooking the river. Tent campers set up their tents right beside the river and have a different set of amenities, as itemized on this website. It's an unusual set up, as perhaps Hipcamper spots often are. It is interesting and relaxing to watch the barges and pleasure boats go by. On one hand I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere when I am on these (small, very not fancy) properties by the river. On the other, there are planes, trains, barges and pleasure boats, and motorcycles passing by at times. The River can be mesmerizing and serene, shimmering in the western sun, or busy with weekend pleasure boats and barge traffic. Take a walk around town, then sit by the river and watch the boats go by. Relax, set up your grill and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Ohio River. Perfect for river rats. Downtown Cincinnati is 15 or 20 minutes away with no traffic, and there are two or three ways to get there. There is a lot to do in Cincinnati. My place in California is just a few minutes from the I 275 exit.

GloryField is an active farm so there are also people, vehicles, and farm equipment that have access to the property. They are the only people allowed to drive beyond the driveway. The nearest town of S. Charleston is 3 miles down the road and has a good grocery store, gas station, & dollar stores. Restaurants include Pizza/sub/salads, Chinese, Coffee shop, bakery, & Ice cream (unfortunately no delivery). Other popular destinations are... Cedarville University - 10 Minutes, Yellow Springs & Youngs Jersey Dairy - 20 Minutes. Larger cities of Springfield, Xenia, & London - 30 minutes. Dayton, Columbus, Kings Island, and The Air Force Museum - 1 hour.
