1 night at Quiet Creek Valley

We loved camping on Martha and her husband’s land. They greeted us upon arrival and her husband showed us back to our site, which was perfect! He also made sure we had enough firewood. Our girls (4&6) and our German Shepherd had a BLAST! There was a perfect spot to pitch our tent and set up our solo stove. We brought a pop up tent for shade as other reviews said the site is pure sun, so we were prepared for that and it really is a good idea to bring something for shade. The site is right on the creek which we all loved. If you venture down the creek far enough each way, you will come across some deeper spots that are good for swimming so bring life jackets or floaties for small kiddos. We brought one tube and could float nicely in some areas. There’s so many little streams and flowing little “waterfall” areas that our girls loved playing in. Our dog Nash loved being able to run free and explore the fields and water. As other reviews have mentioned, there is a train close by and the road is fairly close but we were having so much fun and were so tired once we went to bed, that we barely even noticed the noise. We felt very safe here which is big for me with our small girls. We would 10/10 recommend and we plan on coming back! Thanks Martha & Dave!

What a beautiful farm to camp at! My 8 year old daughter and I had such a lovely time in the A Frame exploring the wildlife trails, hanging out with the koi fish, the chickens and Aimee! Everything is so well thought out and obviously a lot of care has gone into this property, it’s absolutely magical, we can’t wait to return!

This was my first ever weekend at a Hipcamp spot and it went great. The owners were helpful and the site was perfect! Definitely recommend it!

Weekend Trip to Cabin and Company (RV/Campers only)

If you’re looking for a relaxing and unique Hipcamp experience this is the place. The cabin is so cozy. The front porch is a perfect location to relax and read a book. They offer 30 and 50 amp hookups. The grounds were meticulously maintained. I will most certainly book again!

We had a great time camping here! Very nice, very private but not too far from town. You can hear the train every now and then but not enough to bother us. We loved swimming and fishing the creek, and we would definitely stay here again!

I can’t say enough good about the whole experience!! The hosts were awsome people!! So happy they’ve opened their land up to share with others! It was a beautiful experience all the way around! We so enjoyed our stay on the river at site 4 on Martha’s land with our 8 year old and 2 dogs. The site is so perfectly secluded. Dave made sure we had plenty of firewood and even provided an inner tube for us to enjoy on the river. We will definitely be back.

We had an excellent time! Even though it rained a lot, the property is gorgeous and our site (site 2) is situated in a great spot with lots of privacy. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to The Land of Milk And Honey

Checking on was a great song the whole farm and getting some delicious, home made cookies! We set up and enjoyed two days of peace and relaxation. The creek was refreshing, the latrine was convenient, and the animals were a real treat! I highly recommend this spot for a quiet getaway!

Weekend Trip to Sky Lake Camping & Fishing

Loved the spot. Was a bit hard to find-GPS doesn't tell you that you have to turn right on Opposum Road again to find the entrance. Next issue is recognizing that this is RIGHT NEXT TO a traditional RV campground. Even the host's personal instructions were a bit unclear. If you go left at the second "fork," as directed, you end up in the campground. What they call a first fork I would call a 90 degree right turn. When we came in at 8 pm, the couple who came to greet us in a golf cart asked if we were looking for the campground and we respondeded yes, thinking they meant Hipcamp. Very confusing. Once you get there, it's beautiful.

Madden Farm has been in the Madden family and its descendants for seven generations. The original farmhouse on Madden Farm dates back to the 1860s. In 1980, a second dwelling was added to the property when a cabin on a nearby farm was moved across the fields and placed near Madden Pond. In recent years, the family has endeavored to be good stewards of the land by planting trees, growing fruits and vegetables while incorporating sustainable practices. Also of interest, since 2014, family members from Madden Farm have hosted the Madden Road Music Fest, a one-day music festival held annually on the second Saturday in August. Please be aware that if we have had a lot of rain, the creek side spots may be too wet and difficult to get back up the hill with the wet grass. If this is the case, we do have the gravel barn driveway that can accommodate your stay. During peak busy season, the barn drive may have additional guests due to site, weather or general camping conditions. The barn drive offers a view of the creek area about 100 feet away and is about 175 feet from the patio common area. WiFi covering the entire camp and all cellular carriers work great here. 30 Amp electrical in many spots. White tank water fill is available in select locations. You don't have to be an experienced fisherman to catch a fish in this pond! Swimming, kayaking, paddle boat, cornhole, small beach area for the little ones, and 2 acres of wooded trails for those who enjoy a peaceful walk. Wildlife is abundant and they prefer to be left alone. Please stay on the trails to preserve all vegetation. If you see a fawn or other babies, please do not touch these animals. Momma will be back! If you see one in distress, please contact the host. The community area at the gazebo offers a charcoal grill (charcoal available for purchase), seating, electric outlets, and water. Please be considerate to other guest while using this area. Trash receptacles are available at different areas on the property. Fresh eggs and produce will be available when in season. Please ask if you are interested. Campsites are located in the woods and are primitive. Sites include picnic table, fire pit, and trash can. Here you can pitch your tent, build a campfire, catch and release a few fish from the pond, or choose to sit on the floating dock with your feet in the water. A shooting range for target practice is available or take a short walk through the wooded trail. The camp site sits next to a wooded wetland so you'll fall asleep to the sound of croaking frogs and various other creatures communicating back and forth. A clean porta-john is close by and a small charcoal grill and picnic table with seating for 8 is available. The Marysville Upground Reservoir is just 2.4 miles down the road for more outside activities. There's also a dog friendly winery and brewery 2 miles away. Marysville boasts 5 golf courses and has several quaint bakeries and boutiques in the uptown area. Come visit Union County and discover the unique history behind its 7 covered bridges then return to Good Knights Reserve for smores around the campfire and a peaceful night's sleep. The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). You will be surrounded by trees and the spot is completely private. Directly across the road from our property (a 5 minute walk) is the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the third longest paved trail in the US (amazing for biking). The unique village of Yellow Springs is only a 5 minute drive away with a great local grocery store and several cafes. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING. Notes: 1) For camper vans: we do allow camper vans (not RVs or trailers) but you will need to park at the entrance of the meadow where there is gravel. Recently a camper got stuck in the meadow due to rain/mud (which is why we do not allow RVs or trailers). 2) We are still building a compost toilet so the option on the property now is to dig a cat hole at least 6" deep. There is an open public toilet in Yellow Springs and several businesses with open bathrooms. 3) The campsite is right off of Route 68. You cannot see cars from the site but you can hear them. The amount of noise from cars is lower at night. 4) The meadow is ideal for tent camping, though it is NOT a built campsite so it is not perfectly level throughout.
