Welcome to Dirk and Lori's Riverside Acres This is our home, our pride and joy, and we are so excited to share it with you. We've opened our backyard to give you an authentic, primitive, natural outdoor camping experience right along the river. In return, we ask that you respect our land, our river, and our family. We welcome you to enjoy the tranquility of our peaceful, wooded 5-acre retreat along the Little Miami State and National Scenic River. Located in Warren County, “Ohio’s largest playground,” we are just 3 miles upriver from the quaint river town of Morrow, Ohio, and 2 minutes from the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail. We offer secluded natural primitive camping, the way nature intended it to be. Fall asleep to the sounds of river rapids and hooting owls, then wake up refreshed and rejuvenated under century-old sycamore trees. Our spacious campsites give you access to your private river frontage and our 5 acres of wooded trails for campers to explore. Our property offers the perfect blend of tranquil waterside camping and forest adventure while maintaining easy access to local amenities. Our camping mission is to connect our guests with the river and nature in a respectful, sustainable way. “Enjoy the wildlife, don’t become it.” We’re not a party destination, but rather a sanctuary for nature and for campers who appreciate the quiet beauty of a riverside camping experience. What We Offer We provide four primitive camping sites on the banks of the Little Miami River, with two primitive camping cabins coming soon. Guests have access to 5 of our 11 acres of peaceful woods with walking trails to explore. Each site accommodates up to 6-8 guests, two leashed dogs, and three vehicles. Portable toilet facilities are available on-site, and we maintain a quiet, generator-free environment for authentic outdoor experiences. Our land is a prime location for fishing, tubing, swimming, and river activities, situated just minutes from Lebanon and Morrow.

Our premier riverside site with one of the best views on the property, looking upriver at the top of the rapids. About 100 feet of river frontage with a gravel beach, easy water access, and a small swim hole great for kids. Sandy, level area for several large tents, plenty of trees for hammocks, and good shade throughout the day. You’ll hear the sound of the rapids and enjoy a quiet, private spot right on the river. And keep an eye out for the Bald Eagles who rule the river!

A nice riverside site next to the preserve, with about 60 feet of river frontage and a mix of sun and shade. Level areas with space for 3–4 tents and easy access to the water. Find a spot for fishing and relaxing in the shallow riffles and gravel beaches. Fall asleep to the calming sound of the rapids nearby. Watch the kids play in the river and keep an eye out for Kingfishers chattering along the shoreline.

A peaceful, shaded riverside site with level sandy ground and room for 3–4 tents. Approximately 90 feet of river frontage with easy access to shallow riffles. Riverside Maple trees provide shade with a sunny open space, enjoy a peaceful view of the Little Miami from your campfire. On sunny days relax in the rapids and watch the kids enjoy the easy flow of the rapids in front….Keep an eye out— it’s likely you will hear the call of our resident hawk overhead.

A favorite riverside site right next to the rapids, where you can hear the water flowing all day. About 60 feet of river frontage with easy access to the water. Level ground for a tent, Sycamore trees for shade and a few hammocks, and a natural border along the river. A perfect spot to relax and watch canoes and tubers float by. And Perhaps a Blue Heron fishing the shallows.

We had a fantastic time camping this weekend. Dirk and Lori were incredibly helpful and warm our entire stay, such gracious people! As previous Morgan’s campers, we were so excited to be back on the property and Eagle Point didn’t disappoint (we saw a Bald Eagle and Osprey). The grounds were pristine, quiet, beautiful and the fishing was great. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Dirk and Lori!!

I have been camping on Dirk's and Lori's land for over 10 years. Seeing the transformation from what was already an incredible campground to a very beautiful, well thought out smaller scale campground on their personal land was great to see. You can tell they put a ridiculous amount of time and care into the vision they had for this setup. Site 40 felt like we had an entire campground to our self. Huge! Looking forward to camping here again soon!

My father and I have been camping with the Morgan family for about 20 years now. We were devastated when the campground closed. Once we heard that they were opening up 4 sites, the best sites available, we knew we had to camp with them again. Dirk and Lori have put so much work into making their riverside campground a place to make lasting memories with your loved ones. I am grateful that they have so graciously opened up their land once again so that people can enjoy the beauty of the Little Miami once again. The campsites are spacious and private, each with river access and a size-able fire pit. Our site had 2 picnic tables that made food prep and relaxation a breeze. If there is a campsite you need to visit, it is Riverside Acres!!!

Wow, just wow! I’ve been enjoying Morgan’s riverside property and the Little Miami River for 30+ years, so it’s safe to say when I heard about Dirk and Lori reopening a small number of campsites after closing their doors, I was ecstatic. I had the chance to experience the new and improved Morgan’s this past weekend and I was BLOWN AWAY!!! It felt just like home but better than ever. The amount of hard work and TLC they have put into the reopened part of the property is undeniable. Nice new pathways to each campsite, improved fire pits, easy river access, larger campsites, even a private deck overlooking the scenic Little Miami. Communication was personal, clear and easy, the porta potties were well lit and clean, but my favorite part of it all was the increased and unbothered wildlife! Preserving the majority of the previous land/campsites has done wonders for the natural habitat. I stayed two nights and saw at least 15 deer, enjoying the land right alongside me. If you have a chance to experience the “leveled up” Morgan’s, consider yourself lucky! 10/10 in all areas.

I was told 2 years ago they decided to retire after all the years of their devoted work.I can understand where they was coming from but was expecting for them to sale it.But was learned the state of Ohio made them a offer they couldn refuse,I still prayed all year last year because I was suffering major withdraw being Morgans campgroung was my favorite camping territory in the world .Well when I was told they decided to open just a few camgrounds in which is better than none I was on cloud line.Made my reservation s ealy in which was last week sunday and monday.I experienced one of the biggest highlights in my life when I stayed there last week,I felt I died and was experiecing Heaven on Earth.Had the honor of talking with Dirk last week it gave me a even bigger highlight in my life.Just cant thank Dirk and his great wife enough for deciding to open it back up

Dirk and Lori’s campsites are the most beautiful and peaceful sites you’ll find in the whole area! Set right along the Little Miami River, makes for all the fun and natural beauty you could ask for in a camping trip. We’ve been visiting for years and will continue to stay as long as they’ll have us. Dirk and Lori and very attentive, thoughtful, and kind hosts and deserve the same from their campers.

We loved camping at Hawks Shadow! The property was beautiful and the view was unbeatable. Dirk and Lori were wonderful hosts and keep the property well maintained. Our kids loved the space and river view. Would recommend to those that are looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to camp. We will be going back for sure.

It was such a joy to come back to our beloved campsite on the river. Dirk and Lori put such care into their land and were incredibly gracious hosts. The return of wildlife to the space was a highlight. I've only recently gotten into birdwatching but Merlin picked up so many that I've wanted to see and hope still to catch site of - scarlet tanagers, indigo buntings, baltimore orioles. The red-shouldered hawk made a couple appearances and Lousiana waterthrushes were bobbing around on the rocks. We got to share this with new-to-camping friends and it was a perfect experience despite the rainy Saturday. Sunday was tubing and paddle-boarding, reading by the river. Looking forward to many more lazy weekends riverside.
