We really enjoyed our time in Whispering Pines. A very relaxing and beautiful place. A rabbit even came and gave us a visit after a light rain (it liked to eat the growth under the pines). We also saw a cute toad on the forest path. Overall a very peaceful place.

We were looking for a private, peaceful, wooded campsite, and boy did this hipcamp deliver! Beth & Brian’s campsite land is tucked away in the woods of Meig’s county, nestled across from their farm. It was wildly hot & humid the July 4th weekend we went (felt like 105 midday), but in the shaded woods where we camped, it was at least 15-20 degrees cooler. Highly recommend taking a swim/float in their pond, and stargazing on the open field just at the end of one of the wooded trails. Also encourage folks to take advantage of the ATV haul of your gear to & from the site, and the jackery for the camplights. Their firewood is well seasoned & massive, and there’s plenty of tinder to be found in the woods around camp. Composite toilet is a huge plus, but otherwise it’s primitive camping at its loveliest.
Their hosts are gracious. The land is secluded and cozy. This spot is a gem of a site.

Weekend Trip to Woody Acres
Everything here is magical. We stayed in the peppermint wagon and two days was not enough. July 4th weekend Temps were 95 but we found shade under the outdoor kitchen. And the trails were pleasantly cool under the trees. At night a little fan provided and the windows open kept it at a comfortable temperature. We loved the outdoor shower! And the Privy is stocked and clean. We really enjoyed our campfire visits from Austin. He really made you feel welcomed on his property. We are coming back next month and bringing our mother. She's going to love it just as much as we did! So close to all the hocking hills trails. We never ran out of things to do! It was fun to hike a trail, come back to camp and cook lunch and then head back out to our next trail. Thank you Austin and Kate for sharing your beautiful land with us. Can't wait for the next trip out there!!!. Would love to rent every spot and bring the entire family sometime !

We love staying at John and Julie’s Off Grid venue! This was our 3rd time staying and our favorite. It was private, beautiful and full of memories. The rope lights on the inside of the shelter lights were the perfect touch and did not drain the solar battery. John and Julie are very kind, flexible and welcoming.

Altenbrauch farm was mostly a dream spot. I happened to be the only one there and it was private, and quiet-- save for a few vehicles on the gravel road from time to time and their mowing. I had a shaded spot next to a shallow water course which was excellent given the heat.

We had a wonderful time here. It was spacious and clean and peaceful. The directions from Google were accurate. Limited cell service on T-Mobile. The field was mowed and well cared for.
Bugs were moderate at night but we didn't notice any major issues with biting flies or mosquitoes. It was mostly just moths and gnats and the kinds that buzz around your head.
We were a little surprised/disappointed that there was not a dumpster or other waste disposal option available on site. We had to travel a fairly long distance with garbage bags on the car to "pack it out". Our particular campsite had lots of broken glass and aluminum cans in the fire pit that we had to cleanup and haul out.
