Small creek near residential area. Choice of wide open spaces, partial or full shade spots available. Short walking trail along the creek line is maintained. 'Rocky Cross' Geocach nearby. Please be aware that if we have had a lot of rain, the creek side spots may be too wet and difficult to get back up the hill with the wet grass. If this is the case, we do have the gravel barn driveway that can accommodate your stay. During peak busy season, the barn drive may have additional guests due to site, weather or general camping conditions. The barn drive offers a view of the creek area about 100 feet away and is about 175 feet from the patio common area. WiFi covering the entire camp and all cellular carriers work great here. 30 Amp electrical in many spots. White tank water fill is available in select locations. Plenty of room for tow vehicle at your camp site.

If traveling here from the South (only on Ohio State Route 127), please note the height restrictions on three roads that connect SR 127 with the parallel Wayne Trace Road. The names of the roads to avoid:

Brower (Height restriction 10' 0" over Seven Mile Creek)
7 Mile Road (Height restriction 10' 6" and very sharp turn to bridge)

A suggested route from traveling North on State Route 127 to Camp Rocky Run is to turn in Camden, OH on State Route 725 and head East to Wayne Trace Road.
!! NOTE on RV types !! You must have a self contained RV with on board restroom facilities. We have no restroom facilities available. For this reason, we do not offer tent camping.
!! NOTE on camp fire location !! The fire ring provided on the shared creek side patio is the only spot a camp fire, of any kind, can be built. (Sorry, but we have had too many damaged spots in the grass from the use of 'portable' fire ring units.)
!! NOTE on Class A RVs with towed vehicle !!
If it is too wet to access the creek side spots, we can still accommodate your stay in the nearby barn driveway but if you are unable to back up with the 'toad' then a detach will be required. Again, this is only if it is too wet to access the creek side camp spots. Generally we will be able to help you back in, but at times we may be away and suggest a helper in guiding you into the barn drive. Note, the barn driveway is not a pull through site.

Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods.

Make a stop back in time to our quiet woodland retreat with an updated 1800’s log cabin nestled on the property. At Cabin and Company, you will be parked beside this beautiful cabin and will be allowed access at your leisure for a place to sit and relax. (No overnight sleeping allowed inside) Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea (provided) while watching tv or on our covered porch outside. You may also select a movie or two from our large selection of DVDs or find a book to read among our stash of books. Play cards, engage in one of the other games provided, or just sit in the quiet of it all and rest your mind. There is a golf chipping area as well as basketball. We have WIFI at our residence on the adjacent property and some areas of the camp will pick it up better than others. There is a fire ring on site with an adjustable grate for cooking and plenty of seasoned firewood available.. I have two properties which offer two different kinds of camping, which I have tried to itemize separately in the Hipcamp listings. The pictures were hard to sort out.RV's and Campers will park on the upper level at the Panama Street address which has water and electricity. You cannot actually see the Ohio River from the parking lot, but it is a short walk. Any pictures of water were taken from the tent camping site. If you are in a large vehicle, but are looking to spend a lot of time by the river,, you can hope that the site is available for use, which usually it is, (somehow I rarely book both places at once), or book both sites.
Tent campers set up their tents right beside the river. There is a very simple house with a bathroom, cold running water, electricity, and also provides shelter in bad weather. It's an unusual set up, as perhaps Hipcamper spots often are. It feels like the middle of nowhere sometimes on these (small, very not fancy) properties by the river. Small planes, trains, barges and pleasure boats, and motorcycles pass by at times. AI wrote that people have called it trashy. Not so!
California is just a few minutes off I-275 from the Kellogg exit, and a 15 minute drive from Cincinnati. It is the eastern-most neighborhood with a quaint village feel. Safe, flat, scenic and walkable, California offers several dining experiences, one a brewery, and quite a variety of recreational experiences. Riverbed Music Center, in season, is a mile away, walking distance, as is Belterra, the race track/casino. The bike trail is a few blocks away and connects to all the other area bike trails including the Loveland Bike Trail along the "Wild and Scenic" Little Miami River. A local nature preserve, California Woods, offers hiking and nature programs, and there is even the California Golf Course. A park with large, grassy open spaces and small playground is a few blocks away. Bring your game of horse shoes, corn hole, a frisbee to throw, your skateboard, golf cart, or some bikes just to cruise around and take in the scenery. The Little Miami River flows past Armleder Park a few miles away, which has a gravel river beach, a dog park, walking and biking trails and connects to the 5 mile loop around Lunken Airport. There is a lot to do in Cincinnati.

An active "choose-n-cut" tree farm until 2019, we're letting most of our farm grow wild with some deciduous trees also. There are walking trails throughout the "woods" and around our 3/4 acre fishing pond (catch n release please). Relax on the bench on the old country store porch or by the fire ring, fish, or stretch your legs and walk the dog. Absolutely loved our stay here! The campsites felt private and secluded, making it the perfect peaceful getaway. The views of the water and surrounding farmland were beautiful, especially in the mornings and evenings. We spent hours exploring the woods, relaxing by the creek, and enjoying all the wildlife around the property.
The host was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful from start to finish. They made us feel right at home and even offered to show us around the farm and trails. If you’re looking for a quiet nature escape with amazing scenery and great hospitality, this is the place. We will definitely be back!

This was a great camping experience that I was craving! I stayed at the campsite right against the river. Very rustic and isolated. I appreciated the firewood that was provided by donation and the sound of the water was very calming! Would definitely stay here again 😊 I met a few folks that were staying at the air-bnb while I was at the campground and they were wonderful people. I can tell this host takes great care of their land and brings in kind and wonderful guests!

We loved bring our Airstream Interstate Class B camper van there. We ere able to pull right off the dirt road on top a level area which mae this site super easy. There are actually 2 ways to get to the sites. We went through the back side which made for no turning around and an easy departure in the morning. We odered wood from our host that was delivered right to your site upon arrival. The sunset was amazing! We walked down to the beverage company on the property for drinks, dinner and live music, then back to our site for a bon fire and games! LOVED our stay. We will definitely be back!!

Private and peaceful campground. I live less than an hour away and didn't know this area exited. Her farm animals (horse and donkeys) greeted us upon arrival. There was a trailer house next from the camp site but there was some distance and it did not bother us at all. RV site is not next to the river, but Polly was kind to let us use the tent site next to the river while we were there. This area is so convenient and lot of things to do.

This is a great Hipcamp host and property. Incredible creek side views a plenty of area to walk along it. If you enjoy primitive and private camping.this is it. I can’t wait to return! In addition to the scenery the resident farm dog Iris is a fantastic host, social director and guide. She knows all the best places to swim and sit in the shade. The site is wonderful! A nice private space on a beautiful property. Camping next to the water was so relaxing. The hosts are friendly but not at all intrusive. Some of our plans were cut short by rainy weather, but if we are in the area we will definitely be back.

I loved my overnight stay at Away at Green Hill! The property was beautiful, and had a remote feel without being too isolated. There are multiple sites, perfect for families or an individual getaway.
I enjoyed the trails and log cabin. The host was very attentive and easy to reach. Will definitely be back!

The site was nice and secluded. There was a nice area to play in that our son enjoyed that had a trampoline and some other games. Overall it was very enjoyable.

20 ft campervan
Site 3 at Todd's Fork is a hidden gem, no other way to put it. Well maintained, private and clean, plenty of stream access and privacy to explore. WOuld reccomend to anyone
