Our little campground began as Bailey Wayne Bike Camp. In 2023 we learned that Wayne National Forest wanted to drop "Wayne" from its name, so we decided to rename our campground and campsites in memory of Raleigh and Blue, two wonderful dogs who we wish were still with us.
This area was once a booming coal mining town in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
The hollow was made up of hundreds of company homes, several mines, and other company buildings.
As the mines died, the forest slowly took over.
In the 1980s the National Forest began acquiring ownership.
Today, we are just a stone's throw from the new Baileys Trail System.
My wife and I have been biking for years; we've spent a lot of time camping and biking in OH, KY, WV, and NC.
We primarily ride gravel routes on our tandem mountain bike
around Athens and Washington Counties in Ohio.
Our property is 3 acres, which offers enough room to open up a couple primitive campsites so we can share the peacefulness of the forest.

As you arrive at the yurt you will be welcomed by a calm and serene aesthetic. Our portico was constructed from 100 year old barn beams that were salvaged from West Virginia. This unique structure with 10 ft exterior walls and over 17 feet to the center dome was hand crafted by Blue Ridge Yurts in Floyd Virginia. Every space in this property has been custom built to create an unforgettable experience. This is the only 10 ft walled yurt in the region offering a spacious loft. Lay back and enjoy watching the clouds go by and seeing the rustling of the trees in the wind through our 5 foot dome. At night stare up at the stars as you fall asleep on your full sized queen beds with memory foam mattresses.
The main floor offers a very spacious living area with in floor radiant heat system to keep you toasty warm in the winter. The space also includes a mini-split unit that offers additional heating as well as A/C in the summer months. A pull out couch is provided to accommodate any extra guest. The living area is open to the beautiful kitchen with custom made cabinets and rustic center island constructed out of old salvaged barn beams. The large marble island top provides ample space for food prep and dining. Our kitchen has all full sized appliances with large farm sink, full sized French door fridge and a convection oven. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics you would need to prepare simple dishes including cooking oil, spices, flour, sugar, basic cookware and baking utensils. A Keurig coffee machine and pods are provided as well as a drip machine with ground coffee.
Our bathroom provides every convenience and luxury during your stay. A large 6 foot walk-in shower is spacious and inviting. Admire the custom built vanity also constructed from salvaged barn beams. A full sized washer and dryer are located in the nook of the bathroom and guests are welcome to use throughout their stay.
Our main floor also includes the master bedroom complete with full sized queen bed with memory foam mattresses, Storage ottoman and TV.
As you make your way out the back door you will find a little oasis awaiting. Our patio area provides privacy and the opportunity to relax in nature. Soak in the 6 person hot tub or gather around the fire pit in the evenings with friends and family.
A 6 person dining set is a perfect place to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee in the morning.
This property was thoughtfully created to provide a unique and special experience for each and every one of our guests no matter what the occasion. Visiting the Hocking Hills ? No interest in crowded campgrounds ? you have found 75 acres mostly wooded with trails. Close to and easy access from US 33 There are 4 primitive and secluded campsites around the property for tent camping. I can transport you and your gear to the remote sites. ATV's and Horses are also welcome on the property. Firewood will be provided for free and in abundant amount. The site on top of the hill is a very secluded and mowed crest of hill surrounded by dogwood trees and the invasive Autumn Olive bushes, making this the most desirable site for getting full body sun, and shade when wanted in complete privacy. The site above the Rockbridge Winery is a secluded, mowed clearing in the mature woods, making this a preferred site for privacy, shade and easy access to the winery. There are also 2 sites in the valley that allow you to be near your vehicle, one out in the open sun and near the driveway while the other is in the coolest spot on the property with a very nice rock formation to admire and secluded for privacy. While on my property, clothing is optional but respect for other campers is expected. Hiking the trails naked rarely encounters other people. Sunny Rest Skyview can accomodate an RV with no hookup, generator is allowed. This is a valley and may get soft after heavy rain. Please keep wheels near the lane if there's any question to the ground conditions and maneuvering your vehicle, please contact me. Apple product GPS will not get you to this location, use the pin on Google Maps.

Wonderful little camping area tucked away in the middle of nowhere, yet close to everything! Site had no grass so be prepared for mud! We actually stayed in a tent during severe flood warnings and the site never flooded or became unusable (minus while it was raining) so even in not so great weather it didn’t become chaotic. Hocking hills was very close and it was a quick drive to get to the state park and spend the day hiking :)

This was our second time staying at this little piece of Heaven. So peaceful and quiet - and fun! We loved floating in the little pond and listening to the nature sounds (because that is all you could hear up there) The little cabin had everything we needed and everything was very clean. If you're looking to truly disconnect and get back to nature, this place delivers in spades. The land here is absolutely gorgeous – rolling terrain that feels like you've stepped into your own private slice of wilderness.
Jim is a fantastic host who clearly cares about creating a welcoming environment for everyone. He's knowledgeable about the area and always ready to help with recommendations or just chat about the local wildlife.
The clothing-optional aspect adds to the liberating, back-to-nature experience. There's something incredibly freeing about being able to enjoy the outdoors without any barriers between you and the environment. The property is very secluded, so privacy is never an issue – you can truly relax and unwind.

Jim was very accommodating and very kind. We had animals and they ran freely without issues. If you go outside your camp probably best to keep a leash on hand (you just never know) if you like more privacy id say get another site. (This was still wonderful) but right off the main rd.
My one recommendation create a number or Signage for campers to know which parking lot but absolutely wonderful host.

It was an amazing site! Photos didn’t do it justice. Pretty spacious and able to drive up to site. Free dry firewood was a huge perk. The kids had fun finding little crawdads in the creek and climbing up on the rock formation. Very secluded and private, we felt very relaxed. The dogs also loved being able to roam around. The owners dogs came once but left, no issues. Great location too! We were 8 minutes from the Walmart in town (Logan) and about 20 from old man’s cave. We definitely hope to camp there next time!

Pop's Place is a great place to stay! I car camped in one of the tent/RV sites and added on a bundle of firewood, which was very generous and thoughtfully placed at my site before I arrived. While my spot was next to the road, there was very little car traffic after 10 PM.
The property is extremely well maintained, and Ed and Michelle are just delightful people—so welcoming and friendly. The portable toilet and outdoor shower were absolutely spotless, and I loved the cute little touches in the décor.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Pop's Place to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-kept place to camp!
