Dogwood Cabin is an off grid experience. Think glamping. It is set on 25 acres in the rolling hills of Morgan County in southeast OH, close to the village of Chesterhill. Hidden in the woods, back a gravel driveway. No electricity, no running water, no central heat, no WiFi, no cell service. Truly getting out into nature without distractions.
Hang your hammock between trees. Build a fire to grill your meals. Relax on the porch swing or by the fire. Hike the property, play in the creek.
Dogwood Cabin has a small kitchenette. There is a propane camping stove and some pots, pans, coffee maker, and dishes. We have a grill to place over the fire pit.
There are 4 mattresses in the loft. No linens. Bring sleeping bags, etc.
No running water. Bring water in jugs for drinking, cleaning up and dousing the fire.
Buddy propane heater to take off the chill inside, but not make it cozy.
Bring a flashlight or lantern. We have several battery lanterns. On low, the lights should work for 6-8 hours. On high, much less.
An outhouse (think wooden porta potty) is not far from the cabin.
No cell service or internet. Chesterhill is about 2 miles and has service in numerous places on Main St. We have gone up the hill at the church in Todds - right on Goshen Run, left on St Rt 377, about 2 miles.
Firewood is not provided. You can bring your own or scrounge the woods for dead branches and twigs. Please douse the fire before leaving. Rake leaves away from the fire pit. Dry materials could easily start a forest fire.
8 plastic deck chairs are stacked on the porch. Please put them back and secure the cover before you leave.
We encourage you to get groceries on your way to the cabin, since it is 30 minutes to a decent grocery store. Chesterhill has Ron's Convenience and Restaurant where you can buy subs, pizza, burgers, fries, and groceries. Triple Nickel Diner in Chesterhill is another neat place to eat.
No motorcycles on the driveway.
You may enjoy hiking the 25 acres on the property. Nature is awesome, but check yourselves and your pet for ticks.

The Ranch Experience
Cherokee Valley Bison Ranch is a working ranch, home to plains bison, honeybees, chickens, and peafowl. We are proud to be a Certified Wildlife Habitat, Certified Firefly Habitat and Monarch Waystation.
Explore our scenic hiking trails that wind through rolling hills, wildflowers, and native grasses. The Sculptdecor Studio, run by my partner and master sculptor Dustin Weatherby, is on the 58-acres closest to the Art Lodge located at the bottom of the driveway. Dustin specializes in animatronics, steel sculptures, wood carvings, mixed media sculptures, and offers live art performances and experience packages for guests. Feel free to stop by the studio and say hello, our home is on the same 58-acre property. Although you cannot see our home from the Art Lodge or Tiny Bungalows, we're often nearby for assistance.

Incredible place to stay. The Bison and Peacocks were truly majestic. The TeePee was just beautiful. Everything for cooking was provided. I barely had to unpack anything. Carie was such a lovely person too. She kept communication open but gave us plenty of privacy. Carie clearly puts a lot of love and effort into her animals, land, and Hipcamp space. 10/10 would recommend and stay again!

We had a wonderful time staying at Pine Cove. It was very easy to find, was stocked with all the things you could possibly need, and was just as gorgeous as the pictures. We had a great experience at Hocking Hills Family Fun Center! The kids had an absolute blast and stayed entertained the entire time. We also stayed in one of the cabins for two nights while traveling home, and it was a fun and comfortable place to relax and recharge.
The bathrooms were clean, the showers had plenty of hot water, and the entire property was well maintained. What really stood out was the staff, they were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.
If you’re traveling with family and looking for a place where the kids can have fun while the adults can relax, this is definitely worth a visit. We made some great memories and would gladly stop again!

We had an amazing time at the Farm! Logan helped us haul our gear to the site with a little trailer on his mower, the outdoor shower was so cute and the outhouse was right across from our site. It's about a 5-6 minute walk from the parking area, so the help hauling was needed. The A-frame was perfect and we loved lifting the front, putting up the bug net (a must)
and sleeping in the open air! Logan even brought us an extra bundle of wood when I texted we were low and helped us motor out our gear in the morning. The site is SO peaceful, so many different birds. The 5 gallon jug of water, with pump, was perfect, outhouse has all you need and is pretty nice (as outhouses go lol). Super private (we were the only camper there on a Friday night). we had hiked cedar Falls/Ash Cave in Hocking Hill and then just about an hour drive to the site. My first camp trip taking my dog along and with a tieout he had roaming area of the whole site. Highly recommend, great hosts and site!

Weekend Trip to Birdhouse Farm Camp And Cabin
Jennifer and her husband are amazing hosts. The land is beautiful, and the campsite offers a private experience with lots of amenities and luxuries. I highly recommend any and all of their campsites, I know I will be returning in the future!

We just happened upon the Cherokee Bison Ranch at the last minute and it was meant to be. This site was the best Hipcamp site we’ve stayed at. What a special spot. Carie and Jarrod are warm, knowledgable and thoughtful hosts and my family of four enjoyed every minute learning about the bison, seeing the peacocks up close, and walking the expansive and peaceful property. The tipi was very comfortable and the site has lots of thoughtful touches like a percolator for coffee, a large container of water and tub for washing dishes, and a very clean and easy to use toilet. We biked around the nearby Buckeye Lake and made sure to taste a bison burger over the fire. We will definitely be back!!!

Weekend Trip to Woody Acres
Woody Acres truly is a magical place. There is so much to do, and even though we faced lots of rain while we were there, time seemed to not exist while we were with our friends and Austin and Kate under the shelter that Austin built with the camper. We also enjoyed a fun plant walk with Austin and a dip in the pond!
It's always very hard for us to leave because we love it there so much. The land is beautiful. The hospitality is truly unmatched. We can't wait to be back. 💗

We traveled with our 2 adult sons and our 4 grandchildren. (3 of the grandchildren parents didn’t attend). The kids loved the teepee and we had a great time, but sadly we didn’t stay our second night because it rained ALL day. However we really liked the area and the site and teepee. We plan on returning another time.

Weekend Trip to Geo-dome Glamping
Perfect blend of feeling completely off grid and private while being able to go into town nearby and get your essentials.
Jeff and Susan were very attentive as host and have laid out a site that has been one of my favorites so far on HipCamp.
My only heads up an insider tip would be if you foresee it raining during your stay plan to bring some shoe or boot covers for walking through the woods on the trail to your site.
