Located in the rolling Appalachian hills of Southeast Ohio. This farm has been in our family since 1869 when our relatives settled here from Germany. Originally farmed for cattle and sheep with many orchards over the years our property is now mostly mature forest. Southeast Ohio, including our property is known for its hilly topography and microclimates. Hills range from 400 to 1,100 feet. Nearly 500 acres of land with an additional 200+ acres of Wayne National Forest adjacent to our farm and close proximity to other Wayne areas for outdoor activities. We have nearly 10 miles of available trails for hiking. Many activities can be done at or centered around our property. Such as excellent and challenging road biking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, kayaking and boating. We are two miles from the Little Muskingum River. A great river for kayak trips. The Wayne Kinderhook horse and hiking trail is roughly 5 miles from our location. Hike the Irish Run Natural Land bridge trail also a short drive to the trailhead from our property. Ride your motorcycle up Rt. 26 a great Ohio byway for scenic driving. This is also a great home base for dual sport or adventure bike motorcycle riders to camp while adventuring along gravel roads through Appalachia. If motorcycles aren't your method of entertainment and travel. Bring your horse and ride on several of our trails. From steep ascents to long flat ridge lines, you will have lots of time to immerse yourself with nature while hiking. We're next to a section of the Wayne National Forest and a short drive to other similar Wayne activity sites. If you like to camp, but don't want the busy public park experience then you will enjoy the privacy of our camping location. We are also only about a 20-minute drive to downtown Marietta. Where you can find restaurants, bars, and many other fun activities.

Weekend Trip to Glamping Cabin in the Forest

100% recommend! Brittany is awesome, and the cabin was perfect. There's tons of things to do in the area, but overall, if you're looking to unplug and get away, this is the place. Weekend Trip to Bear Pond

What a beautiful little niche to camp! We loved the catch and release pond, the convenience of the cabin when it started storming, and all the bigfoot sightings ☺️ It was a quiet and secluded place to enjoy nature for a bit. John was very helpful and responsive, and made great recommendations for activities nearby. We’re hoping to return soon!

Margie's property was excellent! Secluded and at the top of the hill. The firepit is awesome, made from a bunch of rocks, it just adds to the aesthetic. You definitely need a 4WD vehicle with some good ground clearance to get to the top of the hill but it's definitely worth it.

We loved this private getaway at Waldbaden Acres. The campsite was tucked away in the woods and felt very private, right next to the creek. The bath/shower house was incredibly nice and clean. We absolutely loved the experience and had top notch communication and service from Evan, he even helped us get out when we got stuck. Would totally recommend Waldbaden to anyone looking for a rustic but cute camping/glamping experience.

Weekend Trip to Yourway Camp

Came to Margie’s property for a family trip to Hocking Hills. We stayed at Site 3 on the ridge and camped the weekend. It was a fantastic stay, 10/10 recommend! Site 3 was at the very top with only one way up so we had total privacy and no worries of people driving by. The site was clear, had 2 tables and a very nice fire pit. Margie also had firewood waiting for us. Site 3 was a 4x4/AWD required site and agreed it is needed for a trouble free drive up. For reference, I drove up in my Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude. From base camp up to site 3 was roughly 242ft of elevation gain. The average incline up was 8-12 degrees with the steepest portion being 20 degrees. Loose rock and dirt so when dry, we had no problems climbing up. Had we been in the rain or post-rain storm, I would have been a little worried without proper tires. It was a very fun climb up, the family loved it. There was a pit toilet very close to site, a portapotty another 100ft down and a toilet/shower down at the base. Margie was very friendly when we met and was very responsive with directions and checking in. The camp site was roughly 12-15min from Hocking Hills which made things perfect for us. All in all, highly recommend!

We loved this place. It was quiet and relaxing, and the bathhouse was clean. When we went there wasn’t another soul around, and that’s exactly what we were hoping for. If you’re looking for a quiet place to kick back, and have a few with the sounds of nature… this place is it! Thank you hosts for providing such a wonderful little place!

Great place to stay! Had all the essentials we need to chill by a fire and cook some food. Cabin was small but comfy, shower down the road was perfect to cool off and clean up after a hot summer day. Would 100% recommend to a friend and hope to come back!

I drive the Amish from PA to multiple communities. This was my first time in Ohio. I hate staying in the constrained 4 walls of a motel room...I've been exploring alternate places. This was perfect! Sooo quiet, as my sleep is important for my 10 hour drive home with a van load. The property is gorgeous with plenty of walking spaces. The shower is heavenly! Unfortunately, after I was parked in the rv section, it rained like crazy overnight and with the 2wd Mercedes sprinter, I was clearly stuck. After knocking on her door, Basil was game to give it a try to pull me out with her small SUV all wheel drive. I was prepared to call a tow truck, but figured, give it one try. She did it!!! Crisis averted! I realize that without 4WD, I need to be more aware of where I am parking. So I love the property. Love the relaxation and sleep I was able to get to be prepared for my 10 hour drive home.

This was my first time camping alone in my car. I had a great experience, because I was not totally alone, the fact that there was a house nearby made me feel safe. The hosts are very responsive and the place is great, they even have a shower with hot water!
