McKee Farm is rich in memories and rich in history. It has been in the family for over 150 years and we were told that it was one of stopping points for the underground railroad. The 240 acre farm boasts a hidden cave, wide open fields, breathtaking forest land, and historic and rustic barns. Nestled at the edge of a wooded creek, Tullihas in the Trees treehouse boasts a beautiful sunset view with rolling hills. Tullihas combines comfort with the thrill of being immersed in nature. Built using recycled electric poles, Tullihas in the Trees has a deck perfect for hammocking, an interior dressed with windows so that guests can feel as if they are living amongst the trees, and two small lofts ideal for a restful night's sleep. Oxley in the Woods is our newest treehouse cabin. Nestled in the woods with a view of the sunset, the lovely A Frame is filled with lovely woodwork, vintage parquet flooring, and private wooded views. The deck is huge! We've had guests set up a tent on the deck beside the treehouse for fun! Swings, and a slide make the Oxley a fun adventure. The double bed in the loft and the two stacked single beds are comfortable and cozy. The McKee Farmhouse was built in the 1800s and is rich in memories. It's a rustic old house, with wood trim, hardwood floors, and plenty of imperfections that make it unique. You can sit on the porch and drink your coffee with a view of the barn and pastures, or cozy up in one of the house's four bedrooms and sleep in. The house is fully air conditioned and heated, has all the amenities of home, but takes you back to a simpler time. Our campsites are all set apart from one another in various locations on the 240 acre farm. Secluded and unique, each campsite has its own charm. We provide guests with a fire ring and a shovel, and some sites have a picnic table. Hiking trails are marked throughout the land. Guests can hike with views of horses, cows, wildlife, corn fields, large boulders, and rustic barns. The dirt roads provide great places to drive ATVs and four-wheelers. An Amish farm borders McKee Farm. Guests should know there is minimal cell service, however, this can offer a great opportunity to unplug. Tullihas in the Trees provides a perfect remote and rustic getaway for anyone. In October and November, access to hiking is limited.

The owner Kim also lives on the property in the barn with her 2 golden doodles Scooby & Trixie. GloryField is an active farm so there are also people, vehicles, and farm equipment that have access to the property. They are the only people allowed to drive beyond the driveway. The nearest town of S. Charleston is 3 miles down the road and has a good grocery store, gas station, & dollar stores. Restaurants include Pizza/sub/salads, Chinese, Coffee shop, bakery, & Ice cream (unfortunately no delivery). Other popular destinations are... Cedarville University - 10 Minutes, Yellow Springs & Youngs Jersey Dairy - 20 Minutes. Larger cities of Springfield, Xenia, & London - 30 minutes. Dayton, Columbus, Kings Island, and The Air Force Museum - 1 hour.

Adventure Ohio, LLC At Adventure Ohio, we offer multiple camping options for you to choose from. Bring your own gear and set up at one of our riverfront primitive sites or our river-view site across the road. Enjoy beautiful river sunsets, access for paddleboarding and kayaking, fun swimming and rock jumping, campfires, and the peaceful rhythm of passing river barges. While a busy road passes through the property, most guests quickly tune out the traffic and instead become attuned to the whistle of the nearby lock, announcing the comings and goings of barges along the Ohio River. This is a family-owned property—my brother and his kids live on one end, and my mother lives on the other. Between them sits the Adventure Ohio campground, so there’s always someone around to help if you need anything. We also operate an Ohio River water guide company on-site. When available, you can rent kayaks, paddleboards, or river tubes during your stay for an additional fee. You’re also welcome to bring your own equipment. Things to Note Because this is a nature-based site, you may encounter bugs, mosquitoes, ticks, poison ivy, snakes (including the occasional copperhead), deer, raccoons, skunks, and other local wildlife. We do our best to keep poison ivy cleared from most areas and are continuously working on copperhead control as we encounter them. Please plan accordingly—bring bug spray, keep food secured from animals, and dress appropriately when walking in wooded areas to avoid poison ivy and snakes.

We really liked the hilltop campsite. We travel in a 37 foot motorhome and it was easy to navigate through their Campground. We also ran out of propane on the way into their Campground and they do fill fixed propane tanks in motorhomes so that was a nice addition we didn’t have to go search for that somewhere else. We stayed there for three nights. It’s quiet and they have activities for kids and adults. They have some nice trails that lead down to the lake . The surrounding area had lots to do.

Convenient location and easy to find! Love the option to have a cement porch and rocking bench at the campsite. Dog friendly always a plus they even had conveniently placed dog poop bags around the property.

I needed a place to spend the night on my cross-country trip. This place was perfect during the planning stage, 8 hrs of driving and a pull thru spot. The pluses were huge, full hook up, easy to navigate, helpful staff, friendly neighbors and quiet. I needed a place to sleep after being on the road, the place was great, flat spot so no leveling, I didn’t even disconnect and 12 hours later I was back on the road. Great place!

Lovely views of the surounding hills! The site was very clean, lots of families, very quiet. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Lots of fun extras for the kids like a jump pillow and a nice little 9 hole putt putt course. Would stay again for sure!

Truly a wonderful campground! We were bummed the pool wasn’t open, but one of the fishing ponds provided us hours of entertainment. Showers and bathrooms were very clean and accessible. Many spots including ours (hillside #33) were nicely shaded. If you have kids, I recommend bringing bicycles and fishing gear!

Took my mom out camping for mother's day and we both loved staying at Camp HiYo. It was quiet, short ride to town if you need anything. Staff were very friendly. Clean dog runs for your fur babies. Gold Coast was really nice there was loungers, picnic table, fire pit and a propane bbq. All concrete with a gravel pad. 10/10 will be back.

Helpful staff when booking and using the facilities on site. The campground had all the hookups: electric, water, and grey water disposal. Bathrooms were clean, and I felt safe. We were surrounded by trees and nature. We only stayed one day, but would definitely stay here.

We loved camping at Hilltop over Halloween weekend. We went hiking in Hocking Hills on Saturday and had trick or treaters and decorated and won the best decorated contest! Karen was very thoughtful and had breakfast on Saturday morning. The only thing that I would change is the site itself. Some weren’t level but we adjusted our camper to be level. Bath house was great and clean with showers. We loved the dog park all fenced in at the top.

This campground was super clean, family friendly. The camp store has a ton of stuff. Love that's there's firewood on site and pretty cheap. Not to mention hot food at the camp store We ended up at the brewery. Good drinks, good food. They have food trucks and entertainment on a rotating schedule. Dog loved the dog park! Nice bonus. All around amazing experience

Great Lakes Plains

Sandy beaches and island getaways dot the 312-mile shore of Lake Erie, stretching from Toledo through Cleveland to Conneaut. East Harbor State Park is a highlight of the Lake Erie Birding Trail, and birders flock to nearby Maumee Bay State Park during the spring warbler migration. The most scenic spots for summer camping are on the islands, and regular ferries set out for the Bass Islands and Kelleys Island state parks.

Till Plains

Cornfields and farmlands blanket Ohio’s central region, but there are also more than a dozen state parks within a short drive of Columbus. The limestone gorges of John Bryan State Park harbor some of the region’s best hiking trails, while to the north, the Mohican River is one of Ohio’s top spots for canoeing. For beaches, boating, and lakeside campgrounds, Indian Lake State Park and Alum Creek State Park are both popular choices.

Appalachian Plateau

East of the Till Plains, the patchwork farmlands of Amish Country lead the way to the state’s only national park, Cuyahoga Valley. This is where Ohio’s adventurous spirit comes into its own—take a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Railroad, go ziplining or caving in the Hocking Hills State Park, or enjoy backcountry camping in the heart of the Wayne National Forest.

Bluegrass Region

Rambling woodlands and steep cliffs line the banks of the Ohio River in the state’s southernmost region. Just outside Cincinnati, East Fork State Park has one of the largest state campgrounds in Ohio, while the rugged landscapes of the Shawnee State Park are just a 2-hour drive from the city. For hikers, the ultimate challenge is the North Country National Scenic Trail, which cuts through southern Ohio.
