Adventure Ohio, LLC At Adventure Ohio, we offer multiple camping options for you to choose from. Bring your own gear and set up at one of our riverfront primitive sites or our river-view site across the road. Enjoy beautiful river sunsets, access for paddleboarding and kayaking, fun swimming and rock jumping, campfires, and the peaceful rhythm of passing river barges. While a busy road passes through the property, most guests quickly tune out the traffic and instead become attuned to the whistle of the nearby lock, announcing the comings and goings of barges along the Ohio River. This is a family-owned property—my brother and his kids live on one end, and my mother lives on the other. Between them sits the Adventure Ohio campground, so there’s always someone around to help if you need anything. We also operate an Ohio River water guide company on-site. When available, you can rent kayaks, paddleboards, or river tubes during your stay for an additional fee. You’re also welcome to bring your own equipment. Things to Note Because this is a nature-based site, you may encounter bugs, mosquitoes, ticks, poison ivy, snakes (including the occasional copperhead), deer, raccoons, skunks, and other local wildlife. We do our best to keep poison ivy cleared from most areas and are continuously working on copperhead control as we encounter them. Please plan accordingly—bring bug spray, keep food secured from animals, and dress appropriately when walking in wooded areas to avoid poison ivy and snakes.

Riverfront Primitive Camp Site

Riverfront Site #1 is a flat semi-wooded space on the banks of the Ohio River. This site has direct riverfront view and access to the water. Beautiful sunset views, swimming, fishing and hand-powered boat launch are all available from this site. Guest will enjoy a semi-private space, but please note there may be another site booked about 35 feet up the river bank from you that will use same access point for facilities and river access. Our space operates much like a campground with shared amenities but private spaces to also have your quiet enjoyment. Guests will have access to communal water spigot for drinking and dish cleaning all a few minute walk across the road and up a slight hill, as well as a communal fire pit on the river bank with wood provided. There is no electricity or other hook ups at this site. There is ample shade and afternoon sunshine should you like to charge solar devices. You are encouraged to bring your own camp potty and shower as we have no amenities besides water. Worth noticing, if we have an event scheduled during your stay, we will launch from the river near this site. Additionally, while we want to ensure your privacy and quiet enjoyment of the river and site, our family often launches from the river near this site and swims on the rocks. You may see us while you are here, but you don't have to engage with us. We will politely say hello and likely ask if you are enjoying your stay, but won't bother you beyond that unless you want to engage with us. This site is also near a road so you will have road noise in busier parts of day and evening. 30 amp RV Hook Up Site

This site is designed for those who already have their camper and equipment, but want a quiet river view space to retreat to. Park for a weekend or a weeklong vacation at this 30 amp site with a Riverview. This site is within 50 feet of our RV and 20 feet of our soon to be bell tent. There is no gray or black water hook up for this site. You will need to be prepared with your own drainage solutions. Additionally, water hook up available 100ft away (bring a hose), or carry it from the spigot to your camper. Our river space offers rocks for jumping, fishing, swimming and relaxing, optional kayak or tube rentals, and many other add ons for an enjoyable time in nature.

Glamping Tent

Enjoy an elevated camp experience in our 10ft by 12ft glamping tent. Equipped with a comfy queen bed, well equipped camp kitchen, large cooler for food storage, private outdoor patio and seating with river view, board games, books and a private fire pit for cooking or relaxing. Our open air clawfoot tub and shower give you privacy and luxury for nature bathing. Outdoors you will enjoy views of the Ohio River, short walk to access swimming or fishing off our rocks, option to add kayak or tube rentals through our onsite rental company at a 20% discount, and a communal riverbank fire pit. What you won’t have: • We do not have wifi in this tent, though most phone carriers have some level of service there. • We don’t have TV streaming services, just books and board games to unplug and take a digital detox. Our goal is to get you connecting to nature, enjoying the sunsets, paddle trips, searching for arrowheads on the beach across the river, perking up to the whistle from the lock announcing a barge will be coming soon, stargazing, board games, bonfires and generally just connecting to yourself and each other. Enjoy an elevated nature experience in our 2BR, 2 bath 2015 Forest River Cherokee RV. The master bedroom is equipped with a comfy queen bed, separate on suite toilet and shower as well as a private entrance and plenty of storage space. Second bedroom is equipped with a queen size bed, on suite bathroom and shower, private entrance and plenty of storage space. You’ll also enjoy a fully stocked kitchen with stove and oven, full sized refrigerator, dining table all equipped for 4 guests. Relax in a 2 seat cozy recliner by the electric fireplace and kick back in the evening with a DVD on the TV over fireplace mantle, or listen to records and play board games. Outdoors you will enjoy views of the Ohio River, short walk to access swimming or fishing off our rocks, option to add kayak or tube rentals through our onsite rental company, a fire pit near the camper and also on the river bank.
