Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods.

Make a stop back in time to our quiet woodland retreat with an updated 1800’s log cabin nestled on the property. At Cabin and Company, you will be parked beside this beautiful cabin and will be allowed access at your leisure for a place to sit and relax. (No overnight sleeping allowed inside) Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea (provided) while watching tv or on our covered porch outside. You may also select a movie or two from our large selection of DVDs or find a book to read among our stash of books. Play cards, engage in one of the other games provided, or just sit in the quiet of it all and rest your mind. There is a golf chipping area as well as basketball. We have WIFI at our residence on the adjacent property and some areas of the camp will pick it up better than others. There is a fire ring on site with an adjustable grate for cooking and plenty of seasoned firewood available.. We will have a few items available for purchase inside the cabin including local honey (when available) apple butter, coffee, hand crafted walking sticks and you won’t want to leave without some of these goodies. This semi secluded property is a gem and we hope you will enjoy this piece of history as much as we do. You may see wildlife such as whitetail deer and of course, there are plenty of birds and squirrels around. You won’t be disappointed in this cozy Midwest retreat and will want to make this one of your places while passing through our beautiful Ohio. Most of all, relax and enjoy.

City of Springfield is less than three miles away. A Sheets and Loves Truckstop are 300 yards away with the Loves having a dump station. Next door to this property is a BP Station and Carryout. The Loves Truckstop has a Wendys, Subway, and dog park. Sheets also has a food court. All within walking distance.
Great location as Columbus is 30 min to the east, Dayton is 25 min to the west. 13 min to I 675 and 20 min to Interstate 75 N/S. I 71 N/S Columbus is 35 min away in downtown Columbus...
NOTE: Little over a quarter of a mile off of Interstate 70, and on a State Route, If looking for absolute silence and desolation, this is not for you. Back off of the road but all the sounds carry.....

You don't have to be an experienced fisherman to catch a fish in this pond! Swimming, kayaking, paddle boat, cornhole, small beach area for the little ones, and 2 acres of wooded trails for those who enjoy a peaceful walk. Wildlife is abundant and they prefer to be left alone. Please stay on the trails to preserve all vegetation. If you see a fawn or other babies, please do not touch these animals. Momma will be back! The community area at the gazebo offers a charcoal grill (charcoal available for purchase), seating, electric outlets, and water. Please be considerate to other guest while using this area. Trash receptacles are available at different areas on the property.

Campsites are located in the woods and are primitive. Sites include picnic table, fire pit, and trash can. Campers have access to a bathroom with a shower that is located in the basement of the cabin. All campers need to check-in with the on-site owners. All gear can be transported with a golf cart.

Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods.

Make a stop back in time to our quiet woodland retreat with an updated 1800’s log cabin nestled on the property. At Cabin and Company, you will be parked beside this beautiful cabin and will be allowed access at your leisure for a place to sit and relax. (No overnight sleeping allowed inside) Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea (provided) while watching tv or on our covered porch outside. You may also select a movie or two from our large selection of DVDs or find a book to read among our stash of books. Play cards, engage in one of the other games provided, or just sit in the quiet of it all and rest your mind. There is a golf chipping area as well as basketball. We have WIFI at our residence on the adjacent property and some areas of the camp will pick it up better than others. There is a fire ring on site with an adjustable grate for cooking and plenty of seasoned firewood available.. We will have a few items available for purchase inside the cabin including local honey (when available) apple butter, coffee, hand crafted walking sticks and you won’t want to leave without some of these goodies. This was a first for both of us...winter camping...and mother nature gave us quite the run for the money with temps dropping from 69 when I arrived to 12 degrees by morning with thunderstrorms and 50-60 mile winds. Jeremy was so gracious and helpful...perservering thru 3 dying generators and making sure I was safe and warm. I'm looking forward to seeing the place next summer when it's all green and with weather that allows exploring! Lol.

Loved this spot… although we made a mistake and had planned for an electric hookup for heat. We stayed one night anyway and loved having even a short time on this property. The farm was really an incredible property. We brewed coffee on the provided propane stove and enjoyed a quiet morning on the swing by the creek while enjoying our hot coffee. It felt like a happy accident that we accidentally stumbled on a site that we’ll return to with our solar panels for a boondocking trip in the future. And If you are a tent camper, this spot is one of the best we’ve seen, hands down. Book now!

I had no problem finding the entrance to the property. I pulled in and contacted Amanda as was asked for in the sites posting for the reservation. I waited and didn't get a reply after about 25 minutes or so I explored and I found my site. It was numbered and found it quite easily on the edge of the large pond which I found out later was once a dolomite quarry. Setup and while I was doing so Amadas parents pulled up and greeted me.
View was great of the water and site was level with a large area to turn around my for vehicle and trailer to leave the next morning. No electric or potable water which I knew beforehand but the porta potti was appreciated. Would definitely use Amandas property again.

Definitely recommend booking this campsite! It was a lovely property, including highland cows (a baby was born just a few weeks ago!), the farmhouse, and the campsite itself. There is a great fire pit, picnic table, outhouse, and porch swing - what more could you need! The stream next to the campsite was so peaceful to sleep to. The owners were very kind and even surprised us with some cookies when we checked in. Cannot wait to book again!

Our tent camping getaway was a dream!! Plenty of space to enjoy board games or cards at the picnic table, cook on the provided propane stove top, or chat around the stone lined fire pit! This place was decked out with so many bells and whistles! The entire property is beautifully maintained and the host was an interesting and witty man. The outhouse was uber clean and had a water source (bath and body works pump soap! Bonus!) with a sink for washing and rinsing! The camp site location was nestled in a cozy cocoon alongside a stream and surrounded by trees, but just a quick walk to hike trails, visit chickens (yes, you can buy fresh eggs!) peacocks, bulls and a couple pot bellied pigs! We were given homemade cookies and pup treats in adorable packaging upon arrival and I’m here to say….we are already planning our next trip!! See you in the Spring, Vaughn! Could go on and on!! Just splendid!

Owners were great- he met us with his golf cart and made setting up our camp site super easy. The site itself was secluded and primative- exactly what we were looking for. Shower/bathroom was clean and very handy. Also, this site is close to the lake which was ideal for fishing. The pond on-site was also great to fish in. Had more success there than at the lake! Would recommend! Only thing to note- we brought our hammock and at this particular site we had to set it up on the entrance path as there wasn't a ton of great trees to use at this particular campsite at Fairhaven.

Tent camping at Melissa’s was quiet and peaceful. There was a large metal fire ring perfect to enjoy an evening and morning fire. Large picnic table to sit around and a great surrounding area. Convenient indoor bathroom and shower for campers. Close to Yellow Springs.
