Situated on and between two peaks of Little Phoenix Mountain range in Jefferson Ashe County. Our sites’ altitudes range from 3100 feet to over 3600 feet, which is a lot of slope and hillside to say the least. As a guest you will be offered insane long views and limited exposure to the oldest registered breed of bovine in the world. Our Scottish Highland Cattle are majestic and fit in quite well in the NC mountainside. Located in the Blue Ridge mountains, we have natural water springs popping out, some of which are tapped to drink from. (10.1.23 currently farm springs are not accessible to guests, shatley springs up the road approx 4miles north has a public spring that we highly recommend) If you are looking for a camping spot that is only 5-10 minutes from town (Jefferson NC or the quaint Downtown West Jefferson) but feels like you're in the middle of no where, then we have it! The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 20 minutes away and the New River equally close. Looking Forward: July update. We are currently working on provided an all downhill mountain bike trail from 3600 to 3150ft. This path will be double wide for the most part and wide open at first to soak in the se view. Newly constructed tiny home provides GLAMPING at its finest! The Liberty cabin shares a space with a few tent sites along the river. With the addition of Liberty, I have limited the number of campers to 4. (Exceptions may be made for holiday weekends). There is plenty of space for everyone and the cabin sits above the tent sites for amazing views and privacy. While HWY 16 can be a bit noisy during busy times, step into the campsites and let the peaceful noise-canceling river serenity whisk you away. Forest views across the river with endless fireflies and stars that light up the night! Zaloo's Canoes, Kayak, and Tubes is within eyesight and will set you up with an amazing float or paddle down river. Plentiful small mouth bass and trout fishing just steps from your site. Outhouse w/washing station. Fire pits at each site as well as a large communal fire pit and picnic tables. Downtown West Jefferson is just 15 minutes away with local breweries, quaint restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, shopping, music, art, and a wonderful farmer's market from May - October. The quaint little town of Lansing, NC is quickly becoming a favorite stop of mine. Check out the Old Orchard Creek General Store, Pie on the Mountain Pizza, the Old Orchard Creek Blueberry Farm, and Molly Chomper for a perfect day in Ashe County. The New River State Park is an easy walk, float, paddle or drive away. This park is absolutely GORGEOUS and impeccably maintained, including hiking trails, public facilities, showers, boat launch and pick up, etc. Just a short drive to multiple Blue Ridge Parkway entry points for ease of access to Boone, Appalachian State University, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, and the Linville Gorge. Mount Jefferson and Grayson Highlands are also just a short drive away for unlimited hiking and incredible mountain views. My personal favorite is hiking with the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands! We have Firewood available for a nominal fee. Just let us know and we will make arrangements to have it ready for you upon arrival. Please respect quiet hours between 10 PM and 8 AM each evening.

Before the Kerr Scott Reservoir was built, in the 40's and 50's, this neighborhood was a local swimming hole and vacation area. Public buses came from neighboring communities so people could boat, swim, camp, and picnic. While we don't have access to the pond, our part of this land still is calling out to people, 'Come, rest, unload your burdens, and find peace.' When we started this project with Hipcamp, we didn't fully realize that we were reconnecting with the history on this property. So, come, take your shoes off, and wade in the creek. Read a book while laying in a hammock. Sit by the fire and chat with family and friends. Come and participate in our little homesteading project, and leave your burdens behind. LOCAL ACTIVITIES: To the west is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is 30 minutes away. 15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, pontoon boats, as well as other sporting equipment. Fish, go mountain biking on the extensive trails, and hiking. Prayer Mountain is right up the road, about 2 miles away. Heading east, you can find several fine wineries andvineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town. About a half hour away is an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public. To the south, there is Rocky Face Park, where there is hiking and rock climbing. Nearby, is Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can go and find, and keep, precious stones you find in the nearby river. There is also a great disk course course, Highland Hills Disc Golf Course, one of the top 25 in the country. There is fun for all ages. Merlefest, the last weekend of April, is a world class Bluegrass festival, is located right in our town. Be sure to look at the activities section below for additional information.

The bathhouse is a little primitive but it has hot water, toilets and showers. We also have a covered shelter which offers an indoor fireplace you are welcome to use. The town of Sparta is 12 miles away and offers several restaurants and local shops. Brush Creek is only a mile from the campsite and trout fishing is popular there. Stone Mountain with its trails and water falls is a great day trip with only a 20 minute drive and the New River is a great place canoeing and kayaking.

Lots of hiking on property as well as State Parks close by. Hanging Rock is a great place to explore, with a lake and swimming for reasonable price and picnic areas in the park. We are also 20 minutes from Mt Airy, fictitious home of Mayberry.

Very private and peaceful. Deerfield spot is huge and pretty level. Compact toilet was not located so plan on bringing your own potty. Still would 100% recommend and would stay again.

Weekend Trip to Rogue Trout Retreat

Another great trip here! I was able to paddle around on the water a little bit and my husband caught a 13" and two 14" trout in 45 minutes! This is a safe place to stay and we like that it's got (Verizon) cell service, too! The openness of the field is beautiful. It makes you feel a real sense of community all camping together while also being able to spread out. We've been able to meet some GREAT fellow campers here! We'll return 10/10 😊

The camping location is between two roads, but no cars traveled through the night. It has all you need for a basic camping. On the day we were supposed to check out Kim allowed us to leave the trailer and go hiking and come back to collect it after the check out time.

This was our 7th stay and we had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Blue Ridge Ranch with our B-Class RV! From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, making check-in seamless. The site itself was spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained, with plenty of room to maneuver our RV comfortably. The surroundings are stunning—lush greenery, rolling hills, and serene views that make you feel instantly relaxed and away from the hustle of everyday life. Hookups and amenities were excellent, everything worked perfectly, and it was obvious the park takes pride in its facilities. We especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, which made our overnight stay feel like a true mini-getaway. Safety and cleanliness were clearly top priorities, and it felt like the perfect mix of convenience and nature. We left feeling refreshed and impressed, and we will absolutely return. Blue Ridge Ranch is a gem for any RV traveler seeking comfort, beauty, and attentive hosts—highly recommended!

I would recommend this campground over and over again! Not only was the site absolutely gorgeous, but the cleanliness of the entire location was truly impressive. Laura and Steve went above and beyond to ensure a safe and beautiful space to retreat. This was my birthday camping trip with my wife, best friend, and fur baby. After the success of our adventure, we plan to make this trip annually.

If this spot is available, stop reading and go book now! My partner and I camped here in October with our two dogs and had a great stay! Lois and Mike have thought of everything. The site is easy to find in the dark and the road is well maintained. The tent area is level and there is ample seating. They supplied tons of firewood as well as a grate/hot dog stick for cooking over the fire. We really appreciated they also left a shovel/water to ensure fires are fully put out. The site is really private and the views are awesome. The only downside was a bit of animal noise at night (dogs, owls, and maybe a donkey) - our reactive dog struggled a bit at first but way less than at other sites we've stayed. We didn't use the poop shed but peaked our heads in and it was immaculately clean. It's about 25 minutes to Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain State Parks. Buffalo Creek Farm nearby has great ice cream! Highly recommend!

Quiet tucked away site in the woods. Tight road for larger vehicles (we have a camper van) but doable. Everything was dry when we went so no issues with mud, etc. The site was slopey but not a problem to set up once we found the right area.

Beautiful little treehouse with a magical feeling! Absolutely recommend as a way to reconnect with your inner child and nature. Elizabeth also has the cutest pups who love to pop by and say hi. Definitely will be back ☺️
