In the cold months, it's heated by a wood burning stove. Also next to the house are logging roads that allow you to hike the Ripshin Mountains. The Yadkin River is near by, and so is Boone and Blowing Rock. If you like mountain biking, bring your bike to ride Kerr Scott, or Zacks Fork trails. Also, check out the workshops at Pattersonschoolfoundation.org They offer sustainable living classes such as cheese making, mushroom foraging, blacksmithing, soap making, kimchi making, etc... Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat is a small slice of paradise in Mocksville NC. We are the last property at the end of a dirt road surrounded by woods on all sides. We built this space as our little stay-cation spot and knew we had to share it with fellow lovers of all things outdoors. We have 3 primitive sites and 1 authentic tee-pee. There is a bath house with a heated shower, and a port-a-john that is cleaned regularly. There are 2 picnic tables and a charcoal grill. We have a 24x16 enclosed stage that can be used for bands, educational classes, karaoke, yoga... ect. There is also an outdoor movie theater that we will occasionally play movies on for guests but it is also available to rent for an evening. There are a few restaurants close by. We are about a 5 minute drive to Lake Myers RV resort that has 2 Olympic size swimming pools. There are a lot of wineries and breweries within a 30 min drive from our property. We are also about 15 minutes from river access to the Yadkin river for anyone looking to Kayak. We have 2 dogs that live here and will greet you at the gate. Please be respectful of the neighbors and drive slowly down the dirt road to our property to limit dust. Gate code will be provided prior to guests arrival. This is our story , well I have this land its 6.43 acres . This is how it all started there was a hippie fest going on in town and it was posted on social media . Someone posted they were looking for a place to camp but they didnt have camping at the fairgrounds where the event was . So I messaged this person and said I have a big yard maybe they could camp here but I have no facilities water toilet etc. We spoke and the gentleman said he would like to do that him and his group . I have never done anything like this they paid me to stay ,but before I knew it I had 32 people coming here 2 pop up campers a 30 ft pull behind and 12 tents WOW . So of course I had to get the porta toilet thats how it ended up down there . The weather was threatening us so some people cancelled but in all we ended up with 16 people here it was a fun time for all . Thats when I decided to join hipcamp now we are on our hipcamp journey . My fiance Henry built a shelter and a rain barrel water isnt drinkable , as time goes on we will be cleaning out more of the land for more camp sites . Hope y'all come visit . UPDATES !!! Babbling Brook Campground

Before the Kerr Scott Reservoir was built, in the 40's and 50's, this neighborhood was a local swimming hole and vacation area. Public buses came from neighboring communities so people could boat, swim, camp, and picnic. While we don't have access to the pond, our part of this land still is calling out to people, 'Come, rest, unload your burdens, and find peace.' When we started this project with Hipcamp, we didn't fully realize that we were reconnecting with the history on this property. So, come, take your shoes off, and wade in the creek. Read a book while laying in a hammock. Sit by the fire and chat with family and friends. Come and participate in our little homesteading project, and leave your burdens behind. LOCAL ACTIVITIES: To the west is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is 30 minutes away. 15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, pontoon boats, as well as other sporting equipment. Fish, go mountain biking on the extensive trails, and hiking. Prayer Mountain is right up the road, about 2 miles away. Heading east, you can find several fine wineries andvineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town. About a half hour away is an Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public. To the south, there is Rocky Face Park, where there is hiking and rock climbing. Nearby, is Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can go and find, and keep, precious stones you find in the nearby river. There is also a great disk course course, Highland Hills Disc Golf Course, one of the top 25 in the country. There is fun for all ages. Merlefest, the last weekend of April, is a world class Bluegrass festival, is located right in our town. Be sure to look at the activities section below for additional information.

Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat is a small slice of paradise in Mocksville NC. We are the last property at the end of a dirt road surrounded by woods on all sides. We built this space as our little stay-cation spot and knew we had to share it with fellow lovers of all things outdoors. We have 3 primitive sites and 1 authentic tee-pee. There is a bath house with a heated shower, and a port-a-john that is cleaned regularly. There are 2 picnic tables and a charcoal grill. We have a 24x16 enclosed stage that can be used for bands, educational classes, karaoke, yoga... ect. There is also an outdoor movie theater that we will occasionally play movies on for guests but it is also available to rent for an evening. There are a few restaurants close by. We are about a 5 minute drive to Lake Myers RV resort that has 2 Olympic size swimming pools. There are a lot of wineries and breweries within a 30 min drive from our property. We are also about 15 minutes from river access to the Yadkin river for anyone looking to Kayak. We have 2 dogs that live here and will greet you at the gate. Please be respectful of the neighbors and drive slowly down the dirt road to our property to limit dust. Gate code will be provided prior to guests arrival. Shacktown Falls is across the road from our property and is definitely a fun family trip.Our property gives great access to hiking and swimming. There is hiking on and off of our property and swimming at the falls across the road from camp.We try to greet each guest and show you around the property. We live on the property so for the most part we are always there!About the listingOur listing is for tent campers and includes three distinct sites. You will have access to a fire ring and picnic table (located at each site), firewood for sale on site (please do not bring firewood from off-site), clean drinking water and a Porta Potty (located near the pond), the creek to explore, our pond to fish, and wooded trails to hike. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 150 acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges. ;) Our cows, pigs, goats,sheep, donkeys, and chickens are all eager to meet you, as are we! We currently have fresh eggs, pork and beef for sale on site and will soon add fresh organically raised vegetables and herbs in season.
