My stay was short, as I arrived after 6pm in the rain and left by 9am. Everything seemed fine. I would have enjoyed staying a bit longer in the morning to enjoy the many birds around my site. (I heard an owl just outside at night!)I also would have loved to have roamed the farm a bit to check out the animals and whatever else was there.

We really enjoyed staying here, but I’m very grateful we brought along our tent because the cabin was infested with bugs which made it inhabitable. But everything else was perfect! We loved the outdoor shower and private access to the creek for launching our kayaks. There was a little more noise and light pollution than we cared for (could hear vehicles from highway 24/7) and of course the donkey and roosters but that was expected, and comical! The property is beautiful and it was a great weekend 🩷

We stayed in the cabin. It was wonderful having such privacy with it nestled in the woods. Everything was clean and well maintained. They suppled firewood in crates for us to use in the fire pit! It was fun showering under the stars. Luckily, when we were there, it was warm during the day and cool at night so the evening shower water was warmed up by the sun. The bed was very comfortable, and Darin and Beth were kind and very responsive to any of our needs and questions. The location is close to Mt. Airy, Pilot Mountain, and Hanging Rock State Park. All three of which we visited. We plan to visit again soon.

This is such an amazing cabin with so many nice touches. The views are outstanding and the hot tub perfect! The Starlink wifi is top notch! We hope to someday return!

This was a nice site and I loved it here it was right off the road but it was still private and it was perfect having river right there and there was no one there when I stayed which made it even better. There’s a cute cabin if u keep on going past the campsite which was really more private and next time I’m I area I’ll get the cabin instead. There’s only issues I had were the directions to the place . There’s no signal once you get off the main rd so maps kept rerouting me and there’s no directions directly on hip camp so I had to turn around several time I finally found it . Either way great spot to stay

We had a great time although we picked a "weather challenged" weekend to visit. Diane kindly offered us the small cabin instead of the dome since it was roomier and there was a high possibility of severe thunderstorms overnight. The creek was absolutely beautiful and full of skipping stones. Their dog, Bug (I think that was his name) was sweet and welcoming! My daughter's and I look forward to coming back on a less rainy and warmer weekend to explore the creek a little better!

The little cabin was so cute! The bed was comfy and there was enough room in the loft for our 9 YO to sleep at the foot of the bed on their sleeping pad. The electric heater was helpful during the cold night. The wood stove was fun to cook on. The outhouse was perfect - it was the first time we had used a compost toilet. The swing and all the hammocks were fun. The outdoor fire pit was perfect for cooking and s'mores. The open space was perfect for frisbee. All the little touches were so thoughtful. The signage was great! And the night lights were perfectly timed. We loved walking to Abbot's Creek. We loved seeing the animals. It was all so lovely.

We had such a relaxing time! The burbling little creek by the site provided a lovely backdrop for stargazing. We also enjoyed the nightly chorus of frogs. Quiet place except for a few trucks rolling by on the road.

Longbottom Leaves is a working permaculture homestead. We have two creeks, a (swimming) pond, an off-grid house, a cob pizza oven, a fruit-and-nut orchard, a huge vegetable garden, and over three acres of forest with walking trails through them. We are only 4 miles from Stone Mountain State Park in North Carolina. Hiking and fishing are fantastic in both Doughton Park and Stone Mountain SP, and Stone Mountain also has rock climbing routes. In addition, we are less than a 30-minute drive from about a dozen or so vineyards. Elkin NC is about 40 minutes east, Wilkesboro NC is about 40 minutes south, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is 20 minutes away. We--Emma and Jonathon--live in an off-grid cabin on the property. We both garden and write (travel- and sustainability-type stuff), and we are happy to share info about the property and stuff to do around the area.

While the main focus of Crossings is always to be a community farm, we love opening our home and farm to respectful visitors. The loft is over our farm store and accessed by a curved staircase (no door between) . The farm setting offers a comfy spot for someone looking for a quiet spot to relax and rest after a day exploring out and about. The cozy space it perfect for 2 people who are looking for a unique spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of their normal lives. The farm store space on the first floor is a public area that is frequented by our regular customers during the day, especially on Saturdays. We allow our Airbnb guests to lock the farm store from 6pm to 9am each night for ultimate privacy and enjoyment of the space. There is a bistro table can that be used for picking up take-out or a simple meal cooked on the wood stove or outdoor grill. The back porch is a perfect spot to enjoy a nice rock in our Troutman Co. rocking chairs while listening to the farm sounds and seeing our crew gather eggs, move the cows, or re-stock the Farm Store. Not in the mood to hike into a spot? You can pull straight into the driveway and park to the left of the farm store. Other things to note **Please note that you are staying on a working family farm. There are multiple farm animals (chickens, pigs, cows, horses, farm dogs and cats) that are in close proximity to the Farm Store. We ask that you maintain and do not go into the fenced areas, greenhouses or our barns for biosecurity. We also ask that you not feed the animals, even though they may come up to the fence. *We do have farm workers (including ourselves) who are in and round the farm all day feeding animals, tending to the garden areas, filling orders and re-stocking the farm store. All of our team will maintain social distancing, but feel free to ask any questions of them while you are here. *Saturdays are our "busier" days on the farm. Our Farm Store is "open" and staffed that day for our regular customer needs. Up the loft steps, a twin bed is located in the "Eagles landing", with a new memory foam double bed in the bedroom. Please be aware that the stairs are quite steep and were not designed with railing. We recommend exercising caution when using them, especially for guests with mobility concerns, young children, or those who may be less sure-footed. Your safety and comfort are important to us, so please take care when choosing your sleeping arrangements. There is one bathroom with a shower downstairs, located off the kitchen. A small washer dryer is also available. Please note, these can accommodate only small loads of laundry. You'll find bath towels and smaller towels specifically for drying off after a relaxing soak in the hot tub. We've stocked quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as some basic toiletries in case a guest forgets to bring an item. In the living room, the 55" TV streams Netflix, Hulu or any app on the Roku TV (you will need your own log in). The internet is provided by Starlink and is high speed! The queen bedroom also has a Roku TV, and a selection of board games, cards, and some children's activities are available below the TV. Outdoor Amenities: Take a relaxing soak in the hot tub while watching the local wildlife in the meadow. Enjoy our spacious fire pit area, complete with Adirondack chairs with a grill grate—perfect for evening s'mores or grilling under the stars. When exploring the field and creek area please look at boundary map in our pictures for property lines to respect our neighbors.
