Weekend Trip to Marshall Creek Farm

If you want good quality unplugged "togetherness" time with family and to get back to nature, then Marshall Creek is your destination. Cabin is nice and cozy, and the bed is incredibly comfortable and gave a great night's sleep. We will definitely be visiting Marshall Creek Farm again and again! Darin Helms

Weekend Trip to Marshall Creek Farm

We stayed in the cabin. It was wonderful having such privacy with it nestled in the woods. Everything was clean and well maintained. They suppled firewood in crates for us to use in the fire pit! It was fun showering under the stars. Luckily, when we were there, it was warm during the day and cool at night so the evening shower water was warmed up by the sun. The bed was very comfortable, and Darin and Beth were kind and very responsive to any of our needs and questions. The location is close to Mt. Airy, Pilot Mountain, and Hanging Rock State Park. All three of which we visited. We plan to visit again soon.

This was a nice site and I loved it here it was right off the road but it was still private and it was perfect having river right there and there was no one there when I stayed which made it even better. There’s a cute cabin if u keep on going past the campsite which was really more private and next time I’m I area I’ll get the cabin instead. There’s only issues I had were the directions to the place . There’s no signal once you get off the main rd so maps kept rerouting me and there’s no directions directly on hip camp so I had to turn around several time I finally found it . Either way great spot to stay

Our stay at Jeanene’s Hipcamp was nothing short of amazing! We were able to truly connect with nature, enjoy a beautiful hike, and take time to recharge our souls. One of the highlights was hanging out with Sila, the sweetest dog who made our experience even more special. We’ve traveled to many places, including Colorado, but this spot has a unique charm that sets it apart. The peaceful surroundings and thoughtful touches made it a perfect getaway. We will definitely be back—thank you, Jeanene!

Darin and Beth have been great hosting us at their beautiful property. This past weekend there was a countywide fire ban and temps dropped into the 20s overnight Darin was kind to upgrade us from a tent site to the cabin and even brought us a portable heater for the evening. The cabin is so cute! The decor inside is lovely all the little touches and complimentary coffee was so nice. The hot tub was nice and firewood ready at the cabin for campfires. If I had one complaint it would be that I was expecting a little more privacy there’s close neighbors in every direction so just not quite what I was expecting but still room to roam. We walked down to the creek which is so pretty and later watched deer explore the creek too. We would definitely return

Weekend Trip to Marshall Creek Farm

This was the perfect get away in the middle of the woods to spend some quality time with my 9 year old Son and our dog Barney. It felt like we had the whole forest to ourselves sitting by the fire enjoying the sites and sounds of nature with a very nice little cabin and cozy bed when it was time to call it a night. The space is large enough for a couple of tents along with the cabin and we plan to come back with my wife and daughter in the spring or fall! The hosts kindly left us with a cooler, two jugs of water and everything we needed for a lovely stay! We also loved the trails and stream at the bottom of the hill! Great experience!

I had a great time at Darin & Beth's cabin. I decided to try for a last minute clamping trip for New Year's Eve. Darin was quick to answer questions, before booking and after. Darin & Beth have a beautiful space and very thoughtfully designed cabin! It made a great, quiet night for my dog and I. We stayed warm at night under the blankets on the bed, solar lights offered some light inside the cabin. The stove, fuel, fire pit, everything supports a comfortable stay. Highly recommend.

Was a good experience. The road to the A-frame is extremely easy to find. Is a nice little set up. Propane is provided for the stove (bring a lighter, the one provided did not work), water is provided in a copper dispenser, lanterns are charged up, firewood was a nice addition, and the outhouse is the nicest one I have ever used (the wood chips keep the smell to a minimum). The hosts also ensure you understand the directions and message you ahead of time. There is 1 bar of service at the parking area. Overall 10/10 experience, would definitely recommend, just pull the trigger you won’t regret it, wish I got to spend more than one night.

Jeffrey's property was fantastic! He was very flexible with the colder temps and we were able to stay in the cabin which was cozy and relaxing for a winter getaway. Definitely would stay there again!

The cabin was a perfect getaway weekend for my husband and I (and our dog). It was 20 degrees outside the nights we stayed, but the cabin was warm and cozy with everything we needed. We loved hiking up to the tower and having a campfire at night. The hot tub was the best part! Stone Mountain Park is a short drive away and is one of the best parks in N.C. highly recommend!!

Elkin NC is about 40 minutes east, Wilkesboro NC is about 40 minutes south, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is 20 minutes away. We--Emma and Jonathon--live in an off-grid cabin on the property. The loft is over our farm store and accessed by a curved staircase (no door between) . The farm setting offers a comfy spot for someone looking for a quiet spot to relax and rest after a day exploring out and about. The cozy space it perfect for 2 people who are looking for a unique spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of their normal lives. The farm store space on the first floor is a public area that is frequented by our regular customers during the day, especially on Saturdays. We allow our Airbnb guests to lock the farm store from 6pm to 9am each night for ultimate privacy and enjoyment of the space. There is a bistro table can that be used for picking up take-out or a simple meal cooked on the wood stove or outdoor grill. The back porch is a perfect spot to enjoy a nice rock in our Troutman Co. rocking chairs while listening to the farm sounds and seeing our crew gather eggs, move the cows, or re-stock the Farm Store. Not in the mood to hike into a spot? You can pull straight into the driveway and park to the left of the farm store. Other things to note **Please note that you are staying on a working family farm. There are multiple farm animals (chickens, pigs, cows, horses, farm dogs and cats) that are in close proximity to the Farm Store. We ask that you maintain and do not go into the fenced areas, greenhouses or our barns for biosecurity. We also ask that you not feed the animals, even though they may come up to the fence. *We do have farm workers (including ourselves) who are in and round the farm all day feeding animals, tending to the garden areas, filling orders and re-stocking the farm store. All of our team will maintain social distancing, but feel free to ask any questions of them while you are here. *Saturdays are our "busier" days on the farm.
