The following are but a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; cruise the Blue Ridge parkway; pick apples at the Orchard at Altapss; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Tom’s Creek Falls or Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. The scenic drives to Asheville, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Sugar and Beech mountains make them each wonderful day-trip destinations as well.
We are happy to supply a comprehensive list upon request (including distance, drive time and links with directions) but there is also plenty of exploring to do right at here on site where nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to explore, on foot or mountain-bike, anywhere within our 170 acres (or the adjoining 250 acres owned by the US Forestry Service off our North Western border) and are likely to catch glimpses of turkey, beaver, deer, fox, eastern box turtle and the many species of songbird and raptor.

PLEASE NOTE, our rate is based on the number of vehicles in your group. The first vehicle is included in the nightly rate and admits 4 campers. WE CHARGE FOR ADDITIONAL CARS. The charge will be added to your booking once you select the number of vehicles at checkout.
Please note that each additional car admits four campers. For EXAMPLE, 2 cars = 8 campers total. If you only have two cars but more than eight people, YOU MUST select the "Extra Person" Extra for each night they are camping. Please select these extras at checkout. Our 95-acre farm was once owned by the Davis family who predominantly raised dairy cattle. We now raise the wooly Mangalitsa pig and sell to the best chefs and restaurants. We sell our pork at the farm too!
All of our campsites are next to running water except the two hilltop sites.
Two porta-potties are on the farm and private porta-potties are available for rent. Groups of eight or more are required to rent a porta potty should you not bring your own toilet system with you. We do not allow the use of our small wooded areas as toilets. No porta potties are provided b/tw Dec 15 and March 15

Festival season is fast approaching, and we are centrally located for you to take advantage of all the fun festivities! Sites are already booking fast, and we don't want anyone to miss out on the fun!
Please respect our land by not bringing firewood from off-site and burning it here. We are a working farm that allows camping, not a campground. Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, and we have large tubs too!
Our STORE offers firewood, meats, eggs, Tallow, lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE!
Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Free parking for additional vehicles is located at the office/store.
Looking for a camping experience with a little luxury to boot? Look no further than our Oasis at Harmon Creek Farms! You can drive right up to most sites, weather permitting. You will have access to a fire ring and picnic table (located at each site), firewood for sale on site (please do not bring firewood from off-site), clean well water (located near the pond), the creek to explore, our stocked pond to fish, and wooded trails to hike. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 160 acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣

Sleep under the stars while listening to the river run while staying on a working farm! During the summer months watch our vegetables grow and the pickers pick! The winter months you'll enjoy a sea of green as our cover crop takes over the field.
You can cool off in the river or check out the surrounding Pisgah National Forest. Dogs on leashes are welcome and owner is responsible for cleaning up after pet.
The farm provides a portable toilet but no other amenities. Campfires may be restricted, so check local regulations. This is a working farm, so please be respectful of the crops and workers and keep dogs on leashes. Fishing is NOT allowed on the river unless you have booked a trip with one of our guides. Please note, if it’s rainy the roads will be muddy and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are the best option.
Head 4 miles east to the town of Mills River for restaurants, stores, and services. You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The Confluence campsite is situated on 21 acres between the north and south forks of Mills River. This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper and lower meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River.
Four-wheel drive is needed during rainy weather.

This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company.
You can follow signs in the driveway.
Stay left all the way up the driveway.
After you pass the barn, you will see a small sign and stay left below the cabin. When you come to the field, follow the arrows to the right to your campsite.

This property is situated on 50 acres, surrounded by private property with views of the nearby Pisgah National Forest and a 10 minute drive to DuPont State Forest.
Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash.
Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is required. Message us with any questions.
Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded.
Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. We do provide a port a potty and firewood is for sale on site (Venmo, PayPal or cash). IF YOU ARE CAMPING WITH A RV OR TRAILER, PLEASE CONTACT US TO DISCUSS A SITE. All sites can accommodate smaller RV camper units. However, larger RV's have limited site availability.
Campsites are situated along the river edge. Embankments are steep and near deep water. Although not prohibited, constant supervision for children is a must to avoid serious injury due to natural hazards.

3Feather Sanctuary is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and has a creek meandering through it. The closest town is Hot Springs, which is 20 minutes away and the Hot Springs are a definite must-see if that peaks your interest! The town itself is also pretty cool. There are some good shops, restaurants & our favorite hardware store!! Downtown Marshall is also close, about 25 minutes and has a lot to offer! Gr8 restaurants, thrifting and cute shops along the river.
Our property is about an hour away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the adorable city of Asheville - which makes for a fantastic day trip with delicious restaurants, breweries, cool shops, and more! The Great Smokey Mountains and Deep Creek are about 1.5 hours away from the campsite. The Appalachian Trail is closeby and there are countless opportunities for stunning hikes. There's also kayaking, tubing, white water rafting opportunities as well as zip lining and horseback riding. There is something for everyone to enjoy and we can't wait to share it with you!
Full disclosure:
We have a camera pointed at the entrance and one at the bath house door, which we can move around to make sure that when people check in they make it to the right spot since I manage remotely part of the year. We have regular yard maintenance, however, we are Country natural landscape, not parking lot type campground, so the grass is slightly higher in some small areas but truly those things are part of a sustainable and uniquely beautiful camping experience!

Tellurian Family Campground offers conveniently located spacious travel trailer, camper, RV and tent camp sites with incredible views and access to a pristine mountain river. The property consists of 93 acres and 2780 feet (1⁄2 mile) of river frontage on the First Broad River. The First Broad River offers canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and fishing. Smallmouth and freshwater sunfishing is incredible on this stretch of the river and there are also opportunities for mountain river catfish.
Tellurian’s scenic location offers stunning vista views of the surrounding countryside, sprawling views of the South Mountain and Cherry Mountain ranges, as well as long range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The sunsets are amazing and the star lit skies are uninhibited by city lights. One of the few lights that can be seen at night lights up a steeple silhouetted against the mountain ridges. It’s truly a peaceful site.
Tellurian is centrally located between Charlotte NC, Asheville NC, and Spartanburg SC in the small town of Casar, NC. We are located in a rural setting in the foothills on the edge of the South Mountains Range, a branch of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We have always enjoyed quiet secluded campsites, river floats and sitting by the river. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views.
Naming our campground proved to be one of the most challenging tasks throughout the process of developing it. After many ideas and brainstorming sessions as a family, we decided to go with Tellurian. We know it’s a bit different; that’s what we like about it. We think our place stands out and, after visiting Tellurian, we think you’ll agree it does too.

My wife and I had a great time in our 30 foot Class C in site 1 which was located right on the creek which was crystal clear. Saw 3 deer both days. It was very relaxing with no rd noise. There was a beautiful view looking south up into the mtns. The host Mellissa was great and offered us their local honey and fresh eggs from the chicken coop. It was fun cooling our feet in the creek and watching the stars at night. There were very few bugs and a few short hiking trails in close proximity. They also have a fishing pond. Would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely beautiful site! Completely out of the way, like almost 4 miles of gravel road, which was exactly what I needed with my 2 dogs. Never saw another person but I felt very safe. The site was inviting and well maintained. Having a broom was a plus! Sleeping under the stars and listening to the roar of the water made the trip well worth it.

Absolutely amazing campground. Location is 10 out of 10. Go up river for a mile or so for some winding swamps before it becomes a more straightforward river. The cove right by the campsite has the most impressive cypresses nearby. The backwaters near site 1 are beautiful and fun to crawl into. The current isn't too strong, my 70 year old dad could go a few miles upriver no problem. The sites are well maintained, the community area is superb, the beach and boat launch is beautiful, and wildlife is incredible! We will be back for sure. While you're in the area, definitely put in at Henrys Landing and paddle down through the swamp towards the Hunt's Bluff campground. 12 miles total, we did it in 4 hours, but I'd recommend at least 6-8 for a relaxed trip and time in the swamp.
Ask Lisa for Todd's number from Cape Fear Paddle (or go to capefearpaddle.com), as Todd will rent you kayaks, dropped off and picked up from the campsite for the cheapest rate in the state. Amazing service and it goes hand in hand with Lisa's amazing home.

We absolutely loved heartstone! The gravel road is a bit long and you need to go very slow because it is quite bumpy, but nothing my Subaru couldn’t handle! The setting is extremely peaceful and remote, with the canopy forest providing a ton of shade and keeping it cool even in mid August! I’ve never been somewhere so beautiful and restorative. We can’t wait to come back!

This is currently my favorite campground in North Carolina. The location is free of traffic sounds, full of stars, and hosted by great folks. Not far from Highlands, Dillard, and Franklin do plenty of options for things to do. The creek in the summer is awesome where you may see rainbow trout, Great Blue Herons, river otters, and other fauna. The eggs, honey, and firewood are perks! Full connections and great WiFi?

Peaceful, beautiful and perfect. 5G cell service. The trees by the river provided wonderful shade and kept us cool even in this 90 degree humid weather. We saw cows in the river, humming birds not even 15 feet away and even heard the donkeys yelling around 5pm when it was feeding time. The ground by the river was good and flat for our tent with no sticks or rocks to worry about. We can't wait to come back.

We recently took our teardrop camper up to The Rocky Knoll for a quick getaway, and it was exactly what we needed. Even though the site is situated near a neighborhood, it maintains a fantastic sense of privacy and offers a great view of the Sauratown Mountains. It makes for an excellent basecamp if you're exploring Hanging Rock, Belews Lake, or any of the nearby state parks.
The location is super convenient with a couple of gas stations and a grocery store close by—though stepping into the local Ingles felt like walking right back into 1983! We got hit by a quick thunderboomer of a storm that made the onsite camp wood a bit stubborn to light, so it was a huge plus that the nearby convenience store sold dry firewood. Once we got the fire going, we settled in for a great camp-side meal cooked over the coals.
Despite the usual high heat and heavy humidity of a North Carolina summer, we were treated to a wonderfully cool breeze all evening. I definitely recommend this spot to anyone passing through, looking for a solid basecamp for the state parks, or just needing a quick, peaceful escape!

This was our first time camping and we really enjoyed this spot. The running creek is very peaceful and the dogs enjoyed playing in it. The bathroom, charcoal grill, and picnic table made things easy.

We loved our two night stay at Candy Mountain! The goats were absolutely adorable and friendly. Scott was a great host, and we really enjoyed learning more about the farm. The outhouse was super clean. The WiFi also worked really well, which was an added bonus. We also got goat milk lotion and soap from their shop, definitely check out their store! Overall it was a very peaceful and a much needed relaxing stay for us.
