Camp TedRock Adirondack Forest Retreat provides private and secluded off grid campsites and structures on 5 forested acres within the Blue Line of The Adirondack State Park in Thurman New York. Just minutes from I-87 and the Lake George Region, our A Frame site offers a 120 square foot authentic A-Frame cabin with an open Adirondack Lean-to approach. This 1-4 person A frame comes with 2 to 4 sleeping cots, 2 hammocks (available) with hanging space inside or out and plenty of space to pitch a tent all around, tent included. Down by the runoff stream (sometimes there is no runoff!) you'll find a fire ring with a cooking grill and outdoor seating. Inside the A frame you're provided a lantern, gas cook stove, kitchen ware, food storage cooler and small table and chairs. 14 gallons of potable water is provided. There is a small corner loo inside the A frame with a flushing RV type toilet for the ladies and also a comfortable Adirondack outhouse with an ecological waste removing system. Although the A frame is UNHEATED, there is a small propane space heater available to take off the chill of a cool Adirondack evening. A 1 lb Propane bottle is provided. Additional Propane is available to purchase. This 5-acre quiet paradise is surrounded by on site walking trails where the only sounds are the owls and an occasional airplane. Camp TedRock is close to many popular Adirondack adventures including nearby Crane Mountain, spectacular Garnet Lake, Lake George, the Hudson River and many more. Top quality kayak packages are available upon request at an additional charge. The popular Lake George and Adirondack High Peak Regions await your exploration and provide endless adventures, all just minutes from your camp. Camp TedRock is awesome! The site is beautiful, well maintained, and peaceful. There are lots of details that show the care put into the experience, like the extra cot, extra lanterns, a bag of kindling, and hand written notes on nearby mountains and lakes. We would definitely come back!

Weekend Trip to Camp TedRock Adirondack Retreat
My buddy and I booked with Ted for a weekend hiking trip up to the ADK's. Coming 9 hours from pittsburgh after work on friday we got in super late/early saturday morning. Knowing our mid night arrival. Ted went out and hung glow sticks for us to help us navigate back to the cabin. Was unexpected and came in clutch!
The a frame was perfect for our needs. The outhouse is in great condition. Beautiful property. Peaceful and well maintained.
Will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin in the woods on Randy & Allison's homestead. It was very relaxing to walk the trails, visit the farm animals, and relax in the peace and quiet for a few days. We have tent camped here a few times as well. Always a great visit- a beautiful spot convenient to many local attractions but also a great place to kick back and do nothing!

Beautiful property at the top of the hill. At night the sky looks like a planetarium! This was our second time staying here and we loved it just as much this time round. The cabin is cozy with a good spot outside for meals and a fire. We had our two kids with us (5&3) and they loved it too - the animals, wild space, and bunk beds for them. It's also a great launching point for lots of nearby attractions and Randy and Allison are lovely humans.

Weekend Trip to Camp TedRock Adirondack Retreat
Ted has created a campground that meshes beautifully with the woods and nature that surrounds it! We've stayed in the A-Frame twice now and plan to return next fall to enjoy the colors. It is a very quiet place except for the sounds of birds and tree frogs. We heard a barred owl and a wood thrush this time around. There's a variety of native trees and the ground is very soft and covered with pine needles.

We had such a great time staying at Randy and Allison’s homestead! The cabin doesn’t have electricity or water, but it still stays pretty cool and the temperature was perfect at night. We loved the privacy and being able to disconnect in nature for a few days. And we also loved getting to meet all the animals! We can’t wait to go back and see PJ again!

Had a great time during our stay at Ted's A-frame cabin! The camp site was clean and had all the basic necessities including propane stove, cooking instruments, and cooler. Ted was nice enough to take us out on his kayaks to see one of the nearby lakes which was beautiful. Highly recommend!

Allison & Randy have a beautiful farm, and the cabins are lovely. I chose the cabin in the woods, but after seeing the site in person, I would choose one of the other locations next time for closer restroom proximity. The cabin itself was truly beautiful – built by hand with lumber they milled themselves, and very private. Thanks again!

The cabin was exactly what we wanted: quiet, serene, cozy, with a perfect fire pit, secluded enough but close to all the farm action. We stayed in the Cabin in the Woods for the first time. It was cool even with extreme heat. It was very comfortable for a family of four. The fire pit and the picnic table were a lovely bonus. There were lanterns available for use if we needed it. When we spent time outside, our daughters got to catch fireflies. It was awesome!

The A-Frame is great! Ted has so thoughtfully prepared for his guests, providing everything from a camp stove and propane to water, cookware, and more, meaning you don't have to lug all your usual camping gear for a trip. We had plenty of room in the a-frame, appreciated the cots for cozy sleeping, and I swear the outhouse is the most tidy and well-stocked that I have experienced while camping. I highly recommend this fantastic site!

Where to go
Hudson Valley & the Catskills
Close enough to NYC for a weekend break, head to the Hudson Valley to hop between Hudson River towns, picturesque vineyards, and farm-to-table restaurants. There’s great camping and hiking at Harriman State Park and Bear Mountain State Park, while Hudson River Islands State Park has kayak-in tent sites reachable only by water. Or head to the hills to explore the forest trails and wilderness areas of the Catskills Mountains.
The Adirondacks
With more than 6 million acres of rugged mountains, untamed forests, and glittering lakes, the Adirondacks is New York state’s largest park and home to its highest peaks. There are miles of hiking trails, canoe trails, and scenic byways to explore, plus dozens of campgrounds to choose from. Central New York & Thousand Islands
Woodlands, lakes, and more than a few waterfalls dot the landscapes of central New York. In summer, head to the lakeside beaches at Green Lakes State Park, Gilbert Lake State Park, or Bowman Lake State Park, all of which have popular family campgrounds.
