A grassy meadow nestled between a forested ridge the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, an open access walking and bike path. The Rosendale Rail Trail Cafe is just across the meadow from you and Rosendale trestle bridge is a short bike or walk away.
We do have hot water showers and heated bathrooms in the Owlwood. Use our hand drawn map to find your way around the farm.
Please drive extremely slowly while on the farm road, there and kids and critters everywhere and your car will thank you! Also, we encourage everyone to drive as little as possible while on the farm, why drive when you can walk and enjoy the land.
If you want to sleep in a car or rv make sure to contact us so we can let you know where to car camp. No cars are allowed in Red Fox Meadow. Also, if the meadow seems too wet to camp give us a shout, there are other areas to camp that are dryer in the wet moments, just not as private.

the locals know our street because of the indigenous people and early Dutch settlers mixing with the slaves. Much history here, with the small town of stone houses, making Hurley a national historic destination.
This serene is secluded on a mountain surrounded by trees with seasonal views. The campsite is neighboring 105 acres of beautiful conservatory land available for hiking. No true trails are available, but you can be adventurous and hike further up the mountain, arriving to a clearing, providing you with a lovely mountainous view. From the mountain, you can hike to a waterfall or even hike across a lovely plain field surrounded by mountain ranges on both sides and crossing the creek over to Historic Stone houses in Hurley. Within a 10 minute drive check out some of the local restaurants like Alebrijes, Hickory BBQ & Smokehouse, and the Hurley Inn where the movie “Tootsie” was filmed!. Hurley Marbletown Trailhead and Rail trail parking are only a 6 minute drive away! The town of Kingston is about 15 minutes from our site where you will find Bluestone Wild Forest, antique shops, restaurants, other outdoor activities!
The nights are just spectacular as you look into the sky surrounded by a blanket of stars, able to see the many constellations looking like jewels on a black cloth. The sounds of nature and all of it's distinct calls including that of eagles, is truly an experience. And we cannot forget our other friendly neighbors, the wild turkeys and deer! We are very appreciative of this beauty and would love to share this sacred place with you.

Feels like you’re away from civilization but yet close to all the Hudson valley has to offer. 15-20min from Woodstock, rosendale, stone ridge, Rhinebeck, red hook, New Paltz and Mohawnk short 30 min drive. This 17-acre site has diverse habitats, from an upland pine and hardwood forest to wild native meadows full of blueberries, asters and milkweed. The most special feature is a large tributary and creek waterway system with areas of wetland. Once choked with invasive plants, it is now a largely restored native plant and wildlife habitat that supports migrating herons, trout, amphibians and clouds of Monarch and other butterflies. In the fall I've seen Monarchs circle up in vortexes from the meadows and take off on their migration. There are several large swimming holes where the creek turns or joins with its tributary. Bridges have been installed over the tributary and over brooklets feeding into it.
A lot of care and love is going into this land. Over 500 native trees planted along the creek banks are growing into a forest - you'll see many still in protective tubes and cages. Thousands of native pollinator ground-plants have been planted or sprung up on their own, some like tiny flowering gems on the shady forest floors.
The old stone walls running through the property and around its boundaries speak to its history as a farm and an apple orchard. Swimming, hiking, fishing and bird-and-wildlife watching will fascinate you in this dynamic landscape that is constantly coming closer to what used to exist hundreds of years ago and is now reestablishing itself.
In the vicinity, there's Tetta's, a deli/cafe/gas station and small emporium with made-to-order pizza, local raw honey, mushroom, crafts, and all kinds of food, pretty much everything you need; it's been in the family for generations. Find it Northeast on Samsonville Road (County Rt. 3) at the junctions of Rts. 2 & 3. There's a hike to a waterfall if you drive a few miles down Upper Cherrytown Road from the end of Sundown Road: you'll see a parking lot with signs for the falls; the DEC-maintained trail is across the road (https://www.catskillmountaineer.com/SD-vernooy-falls-east.html). There's venues nearby along Rt. 209 with local musicians on Saturday nights: places like The Outpost Barbeque, 6611 Rt. 209 in Kerhonkson, Lydia's Cafe at 7 Old US Hwy 209, Stone Ridge. Near Lydia's is a favorite afternoon hang-out, Cherries Roadside and General, which not only has literally hundreds of ice cream flavors, but an excellent, informal restaurant. I can talk to you about many other fun places.

Lake Taghkanic is a great place for both summer and winter stays, with plenty of tent campsites as well as cabins and cottages, and a variety of activities to do year round. For winter folks, there's cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails, as well as ice skating and ice fishing areas, and plenty of fire pits to warm those chilly bones. For summer lovin', there are two beaches, so if someone kicks sand in your potato salad (accidentally, of course), you can just go to another beach and pretend like it never happened. The only sleeping quarters that are on the water are some of the cottages in the West End Cottage Area, so if you're planning on playing Beach Party Bingo, plan accordingly or be willing to walk a bit from your tent or cabin.

Over regulation made it very difficult to manage so we let it lie foul for years.
Then we let a fellow farmer use it to graze his cattle.
Now our children has taking it over and are raising beef cattle on the property.
Our campsite lies on the beautiful two and a half century old LeFevre family farmstead with rich history and stunning views of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge. The property is on a 40-acre old apple orchard that is super private and filled with dramatic views and spectacular sunsets. We are conveniently located next to the NY Thruway exit 19 & 209 Highway yet super secluded and in nature’s paradise adjacent to the Sawkill River and across a large private Forrest. There is some road noise from Sawkill road & the Thruway dependent on the spot you choose to set up. If your’e tenting you can be in the woods way up in the forest, but most campers prefer our spot near the Sawkill River. I have fire pits, common outdoor furniture & a gasBBQ’s that can be used. There is chickens, bees & goats & 2 guardian life stocks dogs that live with the goats. I also have a small Terrier & a farm cat. A lot of outdoor activity with bird watching, bunnies, deer & the groundhogs say good night. It’s rural yet only 10 minutes to Kingston uptown and about 20 minutes to Woodstock. About 1 hr from Hunter & Windham Mountain resorts and 45 minutes to Belleayre Ski.
We also have a wood fired oven and offer pizza making classes as well as catered meals.

We cannot rave enough about the beautiful Hilltop site. The views were incredible of both the surrounding mountains and the orchards. It is very quiet. And there was a restroom close by. We arrived on Sunday in time to enjoy the brewery and the live music. I highly recommend arriving in time to do that as well. Of course, we had cider donuts in the morning. The site would be perfect for a couple and also wonderful for children as there are many places to run and play. We have a truck camper and had plenty of room at the site. Note that you will need to park in the grass. The Hilltop site also has a beautiful terrace that is used for special events and it adds real charm to this site. And remember to buy wood at the farm store because they have a large fire pit at the site. The Wright family is so creative and hard-working. We are glad to support their efforts to keep this a working farm. . And we’re grateful that they offer camping among the apple trees.

The day we arrived, it was raining pretty heavily. We had a short walk from the parking area to the meadow, which wasn’t terrible but not ideal in the rain. The meadow was also extremely muddy for the rest of our stay, basically a wetland. I would not recommend staying during the rainy months, but the location itself was really nice. It’s right off the rail trail and we walked from the site to a nearby town and explored a little bit. It’s also a short drive to New Paltz which was very fun to explore. Would recommend B Side diner for food. There are two outhouses a short walk from the meadow, which were clean and stocked with toilet paper. Would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone planning to visit during the drier months.

Delaney's land was beautiful. We camped at site 2 during a rainy weekend. Despite this, our site was on a nice hill so water drained away, and the elevated wooden platform kept our floor dry. Two Adirondack chairs were set up at the site. The steel drum fire pit was perfect for building our fire while keeping it shielded from the rain. The campsite is nicely mowed, and parts reveal slate deposits. We even split a rock anchoring our tent and found a cool fossil!
Delaney was so friendly. Excited we were there despite the weather, she brought a 5-gallon water jug to our site and went above and beyond lending us a towel when we needed one. The bathrooms were so clean, well stocked, and heated. The sauna attendant was just as friendly, lending us logs and tips for starting a fire. We had a lovely dinner over the fire as fog rolled over the mountains in the distance.
In the morning we awoke to birds singing, a beautiful clear view of the mountains, and the babbling river below. We got to speak with Delaney's father as he walked 3 super friendly dogs around the property. Getting to pet them genuinely made our week as college students away from our own pets. The farm store is well-stocked with meats, honey, and butter, and Delaney even told us to pick and take some parsley for ourselves!
Site 2 is nicely secluded without feeling disconnected from civilization and plumbing. My group and I will absolutely return. It is the perfect distance from New Paltz and it's many hiking trails.

The Wright family are terrific hosts. The apple orchard is beautiful but they are much much more. The camping sites are cool and you have plenty room. Make sure to enjoy the beer and entertainment but whatever you do buy their apple cider donuts. They are spectacular.

We had a wonderful 2 nights at Mohonk Mountain View Farm. The mountain views were stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset. The campsite felt peaceful, private, and well cared for. Robibero's vineyard was the perfect spot for us. Harry was a great host—helped us check-in later than planned, and he showed us where to get wood for a small fire. The outdoor bathrooms were still closed from the winter, so Harry allowed us access to his barn bathrooms, which were immaculate.
We had the whole field to ourselves mid-April. Such a treat. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table, and we picked the site by the trees. The entire field is very flat, with the exception of one hilly spot. The one by the trees had a slight slope going left, but that can be avoided with tent placement. We will absolutely be back! We loved it!
