This was a beautiful campsite, especially with the creek nearby! There were areas to explore within a short drive but the site still felt private. John & AC were very accommodating!

John & AC's campsite was amazing! The bunk bed was extremely comfortable & we were able to also fit a twin size air mattress so we could comfortably fit 5 people. The site is secluded and very well maintained & the creek provides a serene soundtrack to the entire stay. John & AC were so communicative & welcoming, would 100% book again!

This is my second time staying and I absolutely love this campsite. It is so beautiful and convenient. There's just nothing better than a site surrounded by trees with plenty of room, and a view of two streams converging in front of some rolling hills. We saw animals. We had great meals cooked over the fire. The outhouse is convenient if you need it. I love that you can't see the road or really any humans at all the whole time. That said, if you need Wi-Fi or have questions, you can always go right down the road to the owner's home, and get what you need. I also love that there's lots of firewood on site, both at the actual campsite and closer to the house. It's like they thought of everything. I've enjoyed exploring the area too. Really I would make no changes at all other than magically making this closer to where I live so that I could go more often!

John and AC’s site is the perfect getaway! Nestled at the bottom of the mountains and next to a gorgeous stream, this site is meant for anyone who wants to disconnect from every day life and reconnect with nature. Owls sang us to sleep and the stars were abundant. We’ll be back soon!

This campsite was a dream for my kids, ages 5 and 8, plus my husband and I. We had a wonderful time. The tent and beds were luxurious, and everything, including the outhouse, was spotless when we got there. The creek provided endless fun for the kids, and when they weren’t at the stream, they were playing wiffle ball in the huge field next to the tent. John and AC couldn’t have been nicer hosts!

Perfect weekend getaway at the “secret spot.” John & AC are expert hosts and devoted stewards to their “slice of heaven.” The spot is a true gem nestled in the Catskills. The campsite is easily accessible yet private and spacious. Hosts added thoughtful amenities and local recommendations. I definitely would camp here again. 5-stars!

This was a very beautiful and private campsite right off the main road. It has a big wide open area to hang out so it's great for a large group and there's a small hiking loop that takes you to a small creek in the back. John & AC even left us a bag of smores. We can't wait to come back.

The campsite was extremely spacious!! Plent of room for yard games and the creek near the camp site was a great addition. There was a great hiking trail about 20 min from the campsite. The host was very nice supplying us with plenty of drinking water and even left s'mores materials for us!

Absolutely stunning camping site that was totally private. A.C. was super sweet & showed us around upon arrival. The outhouse was spotless—not even any bugs inside. There are two trees that were perfect for our hammock & a flat grassy area for the tent. We fell asleep to the sound of the stream. We definitely want to come back!

One night is not enough at this beautiful campsite! You get a spectacular view with a mountain backdrop, trees, and the creek flowing gently. We were lucky enough to get clear skies at night and saw a ton of stars. The outhouse was a nice little a perk. John was also a great host and showed us to the site. I highly recommend staying here!!!

We loved the night we spent camping at John and AC's spot. The site itself is beautiful, with plenty of flat grassy spots from which to choose for your tent. The amenities (the outhouse, the picnic table and the fire pit) were spotless. John and AC are excellent communicators, generous hosts (AC saved the day by lending us a lighter when we forgot matches!) , and loving stewards of their gorgeous property. Thank y'all so much! We will definitely be back.

Truly a special spot in Big Indian! Very private, quiet and perfect for the family. Great river access for dip. John was very helpful in guiding us to location. Nothing but good things to say about this site. We will be back!

Everything at the camp itself felt so clean, and you can tell they take the time in between guests to make it feel like you are the first campers there. Loved this place

I’m a heavy camper, with a team of friends who are over 40, so we need some comfort. And this spot nailed it! Super safe and comfortable site. We drank delicious natural spring water from the mountains, we meditated by the beautiful river, we had spectacular view of the stars - witnessing the Perseid meteor shower made it even better. Oh and have I mentioned the fun, friendly and welcoming hosts, who were always ready to make our experience the best it could be? In my opinion this was one of the best camping trips of my life. We will be back!

John & AC’s campsite was a dream! it was the quintessential “glamping” experience. i met john upon my arrival and he was so helpful and kind and informative, then was able to enjoy total solitude for the rest of my trip. the space was so serene, you could hear the creek rushing which rly added a nice level of zen to the vibes. honestly it was no frills for sure but i had everything i needed and was quite comfy. i will note there’s a road pretty close and u can hear the occasional car passing but that didn’t bother me. you can tell they love doing this and care about the guest experience and that is so special. would definitely recommend and would definitely love to visit again one day!

We absolutely loved camping at Big Indian Wilderness Paradise! My wife and I took our (almost) 2 year old daughter here for her first tent camping experience and she loved it. The campsite is child friendly with a HUGE lawn/clearing for kids to run around, not to mention great for our dog! Plenty of room for us to set up our own tent. We used the canvas tent onsite to relax in during some scattered showers. John was great, giving us some great information, and stocking the campsite with fresh water and some firewood to start with. We plan to return, hopefully soon!

This is our second stay on John’s campsite (previously through Tentrr). It’s a nice site near a creek with a small swimming hole and a big lawn to sunbathe or play some games. Tent has memory foam mattress which makes for a comfortable night’s sleep. Hosts are responsive with any inquiries you might have. It’s also near small towns and hamlets and lots of hiking destinations. We camped as a couple and had a great time staying on John’s campsite.

Big Indian Wilderness Paradise
Everything was perfect! The beds are extremely comfortable (huge plus!) and the site was gorgeous. The creek was a short walk away and we enjoyed playing and cooling off all weekend. John was a great host and we can’t wait to come back.

the creek behind the site is the most divine way to cool off and relax.
site is equipped with all you would ever need! solar shower, weber grill, outhouse, firepit even with extra wood!
will be back as soon as time allows!

John and AC's place was just magical. Absolutely perfect for what we wanted which was lots of gorgeous nature, some peace, some quiet and privacy. Well built canvas tent with big comfy queen bunk bed (perfect for families of up to 5), great fire pit, picnic table and Weber BBQ and lovely big meadow to look over. A one minute walk down to the private stretch of creek which kept us entertained for hours. Hosts were very friendly. Highly recommend this place, it's exactly what we hope for when we book a Hipcamp.
