Originally built in the 1920's for early visitors, the Rustic Log Cabins are one of the oldest lodging establishments in the area. All four of our cabins have a great farmers porch on which to relax and enjoy your favorite local wine or beer and watch gorgeous sunsets over Seneca Lake. Afterwards sit by your own fire pit and enjoy a quiet and starry evening - a feature of cabin life that our guests tell us brings them back year after year. The cabins are situated on three beautiful park-like acres with plenty of room for games of all kinds. The view from the grounds takes in an apple orchard, rolling vineyards and Seneca Lake - a perfect setting for a small wedding or reunion if you rent all four cabins. Built of whole pine logs all four are spacious one-room cabins with electricity, hardwood floors and stone fireplaces. The cabins are equipped with table, chairs, comfortable beds, dressers, stove and fridge. Two of the cabins will accommodate three persons and the other two will accommodate up to 6 people. A Bath House in the center of the campsite is convenient to all four cabins and contains a separate mens and women section with showers, toilets and sinks. Guests are encouraged to provide their own towels and bed linens to avoid per bed linen fee. The Rustic Log Cabins are located on the east side of Seneca Lake on Route 414 in the town of Hector. We are central to the Finger Lakes National Forest, wineries & breweries, Watkins Glen State Park and also the towns of Corning, Geneva, Ithaca, Seneca Falls and Hammondsport NY. Beautiful property and so convenient to not have to put up my own tent. The tent is wonderful equipped with a wood burning stove. I camped on a reeeealllly cold & windy night so it was nice to have my Mr. Buddy heater to supplement in the middle of the night when I didn’t feel like tending to the fire. I didn’t have time to explore the other paths and I’m so bummed because it looked like an amazing place to frolick! If you are a star gazer, this is your place! The hosts were so amazing and very accommodating. I appreciated the fire!

Weekend Trip to Stoney Goat Homestead

We loved our time on the homestead! Gary is a very gracious host and was nothing but helpful the whole trip. The wagon stayed warm so long as we got off our butts to stick some wood in the stove. It was very comfy for our little trio, and my dog thoroughly enjoyed exploring the trails with us. The only downside of the entire trip was the hike down to the outhouse, but even that was manageable - we just needed to plan ahead for bathroom breaks. The goats were friendly and we appreciated the rooster alarm clock. I know the homestead is still a work in progress, which is why we're very excited to see what it looks like when we come back next year :)

Weekend Trip to Overgrown Ridge Camp By Letchworth

The site is tucked back in hidden from everything but a field. The tent is great and the wood stove worked wonderfully once we remembered how vents work. The bed was quite comfortable but pick your side wisely if you are over 6 ft. The outhouse seems brand new and the short trails around the property are a nice morning walk. We were comfortably warm in the 30s, except for when I let the fire go out. Will definitely be stopping by again when it warms back up.

Beautiful location and views! The cabin is so lovely- straight forward but also well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches and art! Loved hanging on the screen-in porch and being able to take a hot shower outside. Sauna was incredible, just takes time and patience :) Air mattress was comfier than I expected too. I hope to return for another staycation in the woods soon!

Cozy and warm A frame! Nice wood stove that is easy to use. The loft bed was comfortable, remember to bring your bedding! We brought a couple strands of twinkle lights and made this magical little getaway perfect. Solar lights illuminate the pathway to the outhouse. We left a candle for the next guests. Enjoy! Very responsive host. I definitely recommend and will likely be back!

I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Stony Goat Farm. It was magical. Gary is a humble and helpful and generous host. We had a romantic and adventurous little getaway and I definitely want to go back. The fall foliage was majestic, the animals were endearing and the cabin was quaint and perfect. It got pretty chilly during our late October trip but the stove kept us cozy. This place is a hidden gem of New York.

Thanks for having us!! I must say your cabin was perfect! Secluded and no neighbors, much room for the dogs to run on your private, well maintained property! The cabin was extremelyclean and spacious. The wifi worked great and the big TV came in handy for the rainy day. We couldn't have asked for a cozier place to stay. This spot is a hidden gem — peaceful, private, and beautifully maintained. The site has small walking trails that are great for a quiet morning stroll or an evening walk to unwind. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, from the setup of the site to the little touches that make your stay comfortable and relaxing. It’s also conveniently located — only about 10 minutes from town, with easy access to gas stations, Walmart, and McDonald’s if you need to grab anything. You get the best of both worlds here: the calm and privacy of nature with the convenience of nearby amenities. We had a wonderful stay and left feeling refreshed. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax, recharge, and enjoy a bit of nature without being too far from town!

2 nights at Stergelandia

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at Stergelandia. We stayed in the Gumdrop cabin which was decorated beautifully and peacefully with colorful tapestries and pillows. Despite it being chilly out we were able to sleep comfortably with extra blankets and some hand warmers. It rained one morning and watching/hearing it fall on the plexiglass wall was amazingly beautiful. We enjoyed the observation deck and took a short hike. We made a cozy fire and used the cooking gear provided to make a nice dinner. We cannot wait for our film to be developed as every part of this trip was stunning. We will definitely be back, Jennifer was a great host and has made a beautiful nature oasis on her land.

Our second visit. This place is just magical. One weekend is not enough time. If it were open in the Winter we'd totally come here to ski and get away-even if there was no indoor plumbing...hint hint :) Just need a wood stove or pellet stove situation :)
