What a fun place! Great vibes. Amazing stars. I especially loved swinging in the hammock and watching the birds. Thanks for the great trip! It was a necessary disconnect and a rad place to experience the solar eclipse.

We had such an incredible time at Whenland. This is a magical place with a unique style. This is an authentic out of the grid paradise created with an artful zero waste approach and design.
We can feel that this a a labor of love and a philosophie of care and respect to the land and it's creatures.

This property is magical. We had such a unique and fun time staying on Seth’s land. We explored the land and had such a fun time. We enjoyed the fire and then slept very comfortably inside. If you are looking for something different and special, this is the place to go. Absolutely loved it!!

I have absolutely fallen in love with the quirky and bizarre, yet homey Whenland. Seth's land and trailer are like renting a camp-able art gallery for your stay, where you find something different to gawk at everywhere you look. Even though I did not have the pleasure of meeting the man behind the madness, he was an attentive and wonderful host! For a place with trash literally everywhere...by design, mind you...I noticed that everything was immaculately clean. The first night of my stay, there was a surprise snowstorm and the little wood stove took the trailer from 40 degrees to 70 in no time at all, ending with it being one the coziest nights I've ever had. Warmer weather melted the snow the next day and made it possible for me to spend the afternoon outside by the campfire and exploring the land. Lots of opportunity for nature watching here! Saw an eagle fight a hawk, some deer chilling by my car (only a very short walk from the site) and a sleepy springtime snake. Seriously, if you've been considering this unique stay like I had been for a few year and just haven't bit the bullet, do it. You won't be disappointed! I'll be back, and I'm bringing my son next time!

Whenland Off Grid Eco-trailer
We had a great time! However, it wasn't as remote and secluded as we thought it would be, we could see and hear neighbors, and it wasn't as nice as we were thinking for the price. We knew there would be a lot of stuff on the property based on the description and photos, but there are a lot of unsafe aspects to the property. Definitely would not bring kids here. Our first night I was cut on the leg by a metal wire by the fire pit. There's a fine line between using what was on the property and knowing when something is trash and should be taken away. The porch is seemingly falling apart. We didn't sleep in the trailer, opted for our tents. It was really nice and convenient to have the kitchen. The post says there is electricity, but be warned there are no outlets - you can only use cords with USBs.

The trailer was so cozy!! It was the perfect getaway for the weekend! Everything was clean and Seth was easily reachable when needed. We would definitely come back!

Seth camp is strangely unique but in the best of ways. Went early December, it was cold and dark so didn't explore the property much. The trailer is rad and the wood fire stove got the place toasty in like 2 hours. It was fun to stay up and make sure we stayed warm. Looking forward to experiencing this place in warmer weather.

The only thing missing was a scavenger hunt to guide you around the junk land of treasures! Really neat place in a beautiful region of NY. Seth’s place is an upcycled wonder of wonders.

Such a charming and cozy trailer! What really makes it is all the details. Inch by inch you can tell how much thought and care has gone into this place. If you forgot something, chances are you will find what you need. The lighting inside is excellent. The same is true with the grounds, so many details thought out. It exceeded expectations. Would definitely return!

Travel back in time to the 60’s in the groovy psychedelic Whenland trailer. Host was great, bed was comfortable, stars were bright, wood stove kept us warm all night. Nearby wildlife sanctuary was teeming with life.

The Eco-trailer is a great spot to get away. Seth has a great attention to detail and provides a lot of little things that make your experience easier. I wouldn't say this is "glamping" at all, but having a rustic serving bar built next to the fire made camp cooking very convenient. It looks like Seth really took "reduce, reuse, recycle" to heart and made renovations with old, found material that I'm willing to bet took a lot more time and energy than just buying new wood/fence/railings at Lowe's would have. Some of it may seem "trashy" but it all serves it's purpose and works. If you want a 5 star hotel experience, you'll probably want to be at a place with running water anyway.
My dog loved jumping in and out of all the ponds on the property. He had plenty of room to run freely. I thought the cabin was exactly what it needs to be. The propane stove inside was great when we came back late one night and didn't want to cook outside in the dark. There's big windows and a sliding door in the trailer which helped make the trailer feel more open. My only piece of criticism would be to put curtains on these. My dog woke me up at the crack of dawn when he started barking at some deer outside. Had I gone to bed after sun down like I regularly would have when camping, this wouldn't have been much of an issue. Instead, the solar powered lights in the trailer let me and friend stay up late catching up, so waking up at first light wasn't my favorite. The next night I swapped beds and slept in the part of the trailer that does have curtains and my dog slept through the morning.
There's a ton of things to do in the area. We spent a lot of time hiking and fishing at Hemlock Lake. The camp has plenty of benches to sit and enjoy being outside. With the ponds and marshy areas around, it does get pretty buggy during some parts of the day, but that's nature for ya. Thanks for the experience, Seth!

Our night at Whenland was a fun filled evening for all! The peepers sang all night by the pond, our camp fire was host to dinner, dance, and laughter, and the trailer provided cozy shelter through a drizzly night. Seth has carved out this wonderland, transforming trash to treasure, a great location to let loose with some friends, with the Finger Lakes at your fingertips!

What a wonderful place! Everything was as described and clean and welcoming. The host had started a camp fire for us when we arrived. The kids loved this place and were kept busy by all the wonderous things. We slept well. Neighbors were a bit noisy in the morning but late enough not to be a problem

The site was a mixed bag.
The positives: Seth, our host, was awesome. Very communicative, accessible, and thoughtful (leaving toys for my kids). The site itself has a vision, to be funky and artsy. There are beautiful ferns and nature abounding. The beds were nice. It was the perfect size for our family of 4. There were 3 ways to prepare dinner (stove, grill, fire). The drum tree was fun for all ages. The wildflowers were breathtaking and the stars bewildering (we could easily see the milky way on our clear night)
The negatives: the "art" comes across as junky. There is junk everywhere. It is obvious this is a site in progress and I appreciate that. The porch was cluttered, the trailer was cluttered. There were no comfortable places to sit. The neighbors were obvious (but we did feel immersed in nature). The paths are not well cleared.
All in all, I think I little more work and this place could really be somewhere special that I know the host is trying to make it. For now, it was a fun experience, but not one we need to repeat.

We had a great time at the eco trailer. The inside of the the trailer is cozy, but still has plenty of space for 5-6 people to stay. It rained heavily while we were there, but the trailer has got a great roof overtop so it wasn’t a big deal at all. We also loved sitting by the pond and looking at the stars late at night. It was very peaceful sitting in the little nooks with all the windows open and the rain beating again the tin roof overhead. Seth was very responsive, and it’s clear he has put a lot of time and energy into this space.

This was a great place to stay to just get away and relax. The kids really enjoyed banging rhe clunkamaphone and nights by the campfire. It was more spacious than I expected which was really great for our last night since it rained much of the evening. We also loved exploring Cummings Nature Center, literally just down the road. Seth was also a very gracious host, making sure everything was ready for our stay and easy to communicate with.

Had a really lovely time staying in the Whenland Trailer. It was cozy inside and the futon we slept on was plenty comfortable. The property was isolated from the neighbors and we felt like we had the entire place to ourselves (except one quick visit from a neighbors dog). Features like a rock garden, found-material sculptures, and other art around the property felt like they were intentionally integrated into the land and were really fun to interact with. Seth gave us some really great recommendations for places to hike and check out in the area. Being out of cell reception was also a welcome joy to really enjoy the time. Will definitely look to make a return trip & recommend to anyone looking for an off the grid experience close to all kinds of Finger Lakes beauty!

It was so beautiful and the pond sounds were great. If you’re truly looking to unplug, look no further. None of us had service but just a short drive down the road fixed that (just in case of emergency). Seth was super friendly and accommodating. I hope I can go back again soon!

Our Stay at Seth's Whenland Eco-Trailer was wonderful. It was an artistic getaway tucked into the woods. The forest growth thick enough to not see the neighbors and have plenty of privacy. There is tons to look at on this property. Seth is artistic and has made some rubbage art pieces including a fun hanging drum center. The fire pit area is cozy and there are plenty of chairs and hammocks to hang and lounge in. And Seth has tons of fun crafts and entertainments to play with. Seth himself is super chill and laid back. Would recommend to a friend :)
