SPACIOUS SKIES WOODLAND HILLS
is a family-friendly campground located in upstate New York amidst the Taconic and Berkshire mountain ranges, set between Albany and Pittsfield, MA, and only two hours north of New York City and two hours west of Boston, MA.
We offer both wooded and open sites that can accommodate any size trailer. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, water, 30 or 50-amp electrical service, and many offer sewer. Groups and tent campers are welcome.
Woodland Hills campground is easily accessed from Interstate 90. The campground’s private pond offers swimming, fishing, and paddle boating. Come in for the classic camp atmosphere and our camp store carries many convenience items and treats. We have three Riverside Retro trailers to rent for campers who don’t have their own rigs but who also don’t want to tent overnight, as beautiful as our wooded tent sites are!

Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self-reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at an accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is an alternative. We produce much of our own food. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are no swimming holes on our property, but many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive (see list below). A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville Cave is a short drive away. Visit their website for list of proper gear and rules. We do rent some of the equipment needed.

Easy entry off a quiet well maintained country road in the town of Conesville, NY. Sitting on 5 acres you will notice the beautiful views of the Catskill Mountains. Feel free to hike the entire property. Hike down the gorge approximately 80ft to the seasonal mountain fed creek. You will find massive boulders, and various artifacts as this property was once a mining operation dating back to the early 1920s. Be mindful of partially fallen trees on the hillside along the south end. It’s a steep hike down so get your hiking poles and good boots. The north end is an easier hike. If you find any cool artifacts they are yours to keep or just leave them and we will add them to the display for the new cabin. Check out the iconic ‘57 Chevy Bel Air halfway down the gorge. With your stay we are offering 20% off your cabin stay when it becomes available. 20 minutes to Windham, Minekill State Park and Bates State Forest(down the road.) The Milk Run is approximately 15 min away back toward the interstate. There is a dump station, gas station and they have great sandwiches for the ride home. So many great things to see, just ask. Lake Taghkanic is a great place for both summer and winter stays, with plenty of tent campsites as well as cabins and cottages, and a variety of activities to do year round. For winter folks, there's cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails, as well as ice skating and ice fishing areas, and plenty of fire pits to warm those chilly bones. For summer lovin', there are two beaches, so if someone kicks sand in your potato salad (accidentally, of course), you can just go to another beach and pretend like it never happened. The only sleeping quarters that are on the water are some of the cottages in the West End Cottage Area, so if you're planning on playing Beach Party Bingo, plan accordingly or be willing to walk a bit from your tent or cabin.

For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka.
Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups.
It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below.
The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls.
Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside
At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water.
This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty!
Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log.
The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by.
Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

We are conveniently located next to the NY Thruway exit 19 & 209 Highway yet super secluded and in nature’s paradise adjacent to the Sawkill River and across a large private Forrest. There is some road noise from Sawkill road & the Thruway dependent on the spot you choose to set up. If your’e tenting you can be in the woods way up in the forest, but most campers prefer our spot near the Sawkill River. I have fire pits, common outdoor furniture & a gasBBQ’s that can be used. There is chickens, bees & goats & 2 guardian life stocks dogs that live with the goats. I also have a small Terrier & a farm cat. A lot of outdoor activity with bird watching, bunnies, deer & the groundhogs say good night. It’s rural yet only 10 minutes to Kingston uptown and about 20 minutes to Woodstock. About 1 hr from Hunter & Windham Mountain resorts and 45 minutes to Belleayre Ski.
We also have a wood fired oven and offer pizza making classes as well as catered meals.

This serene is secluded on a mountain surrounded by trees with seasonal views. The campsite is neighboring 105 acres of beautiful conservatory land available for hiking. No true trails are available, but you can be adventurous and hike further up the mountain, arriving to a clearing, providing you with a lovely mountainous view. From the mountain, you can hike to a waterfall or even hike across a lovely plain field surrounded by mountain ranges on both sides and crossing the creek over to Historic Stone houses in Hurley. Within a 10 minute drive check out some of the local restaurants like Alebrijes, Hickory BBQ & Smokehouse, and the Hurley Inn where the movie “Tootsie” was filmed!. Hurley Marbletown Trailhead and Rail trail parking are only a 6 minute drive away! The town of Kingston is about 15 minutes from our site where you will find Bluestone Wild Forest, antique shops, restaurants, other outdoor activities!
The nights are just spectacular as you look into the sky surrounded by a blanket of stars, able to see the many constellations looking like jewels on a black cloth. The sounds of nature and all of it's distinct calls including that of eagles, is truly an experience. And we cannot forget our other friendly neighbors, the wild turkeys and deer! We are very appreciative of this beauty and would love to share this sacred place with you.

We hardly noticed other "neighbors" were there and the ones we saw were super friendly. We used the bath house also, and it was the cleanest toilet and shower we have ever seen!! Had a great time RV camping. Hookup was good and the hosts make sure you’re all situated. They helped us back in and made sure we were able to hook up to everything. There’s good space between you and your neighbors. Showers and toilets were very clean and the upkeep was good. The staff is good about making sure the bathrooms stay clean. People play music and enjoy themselves but it’s still nice and quiet in the evening. Met other campers and most people were friendly. Would refer others to camp there and I would return.

We loved our quick overnight stay at Spacious Skies! The site was easy to access, quiet, and perfect for a restful stop on our Northeast road trip. There was plenty of space to park our camper van, and we appreciated the clean facilities and friendly staff.
Our dog had room to stretch and explore, and the peaceful surroundings made for a great evening walk. Bonus points for the starry sky and quiet night’s sleep!
A great little transient spot—safe, well maintained, and just what we needed. We’d happily stop here again.

The perfect camp for families. Everyone was welcomed, so many activities, the campground is so clean and nice (yes, even the amazing bathrooms), and we felt so safe. Spacious camping spots and welcoming neighbors make this a magical place we hope to return to. Thank you for all of your hard work to maintain this beautiful place

The people and workers at SoHi are SUPER FRIENDLY. They were very helpful in getting us set up in our camping spot. It was very quiet and clean. It was awesome having electric, water, and sewer. We hope to go back soon!
