The Adirondack Park (ADK) consists of old growth forests that cover more than 100,000 acres of public land in the Park and we live in the park. The Adirondacks also includes the headwaters of five major drainage basins. Lake Champlain and the Hudson, Black, St. Lawrence and Mohawk Rivers all draw water from the Adirondack Park. As far as we know, this land has been occupied since shortly after the civil war. It is actually two farms, combined into one around 1900. The main farmhouse was built out of the logs they cleared in 1879, and there are old foundations of the other original farm houses/barns as well. All over the property (now woods) there are piles of stones that the original inhabitants pulled from the fields. The second farm house was built in 1901. Most of the total 240 acres were cleared pasture land at that time. During the twenties and thirties the property was owned by an industrious couple from the City that lovingly turned it into more of a "rustic retreat"; damming a pond, planting ornamentals and upgrading the buildings. There have been many owners over the years, but we are proud to say it has been with us the longest. Our family bought it in 1961 and we have been trying to be good stewards ever since. Come and visit our little patch of wilderness!

Camp Way Wild offers our Lean To with a View, a 10' by 14' shelter large enough to accommodate up to a family of four within its sturdy frame. Just a short walk away is the newly finished bathroom, featuring a flush toilet, hot shower, and sink. We also have a rustic, traditional outhouse available for use. Situated around the property are 200 year old barns, a personal firepit, as well as a large grassy lawn great for games and activities. Local attractions nearby the property include local area trails state land Lake Champlain boat launch. Kayaking on the Bouquet river. Local farm market bakery and train station close by. Shop locally at Amish farm stands, organic farms. Enjoy near by dining on Lake Champlain. Boats kayaks available at local marina. Watch a beautiful sunset from Lean to and listen to the owls and the coyotes 70 acres of diverse topography and ecosystems. I joined by 50 acres of wildlife sanctuary. 3 nights at Fall Water Farm

This little cabin was a nice retreat away from home for a few days. Having bedding provided was a nice touch and the bed is very comfortable. The parking is not far from the cabin (maybe 50-100ft) and the driveway was even plowed very shortly after a few inches of snow fell during my stay. There’s a fair amount of yard space available, great for playing in the snow this time of year, and the steam right outside the cabin door is a pretty sight and sound every time you exit. This cabin is also perfect for anyone who doesn’t like dealing with a wood stove to keep warm, instead a gas radiator controlled by a digital thermostat keeps the cabin warm exactly how you like it, a very surprising but much appreciated bonus I found out after arriving. Overall, this cabin was fantastic, warm, and cozy, and I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for somewhat easy cabin camping in the winter.

Lori and Ray are the BEST hosts! The site is very well maintained, clean and spacious! Their driveway is wide enough to accommodate even a large motorhome. When you get here Lori and Ray will be there to welcome you and are a wealth of information to the area and all the things to see and do. The site is set up to easily reach everything from your water, power, sewer and trash. The property is very private but yet a stone throw from town and just a 30 min drive to Lake Placid, Plattsburgh etc and some of the best apple orchards in the United States! The views are stunning and hiking trails galore. If you come here expect to see lots of wildlife grazing nearby and the night sky is amazing. We spent a month here and we can’t wait to come back, Ray and Lori were the perfect hosts, friendly, accommodating, and just the nicest people ever. Every year this will be our “go to place” and our hidden gem to escape every day life. We can’t recommend enough! They get five star rating from us!

I stayed two nights while exploring the trails and really enjoyed the view over the field with their horses during the day and the stars at night were amazing. The outhouse was convenient and clean as well. I definitely plan on returning someday soon!

Lori and Roy were fantastic hosts at Adirondack Magic. Upon arrival, they were very welcoming, and walked me through all the steps to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. They also provided me with information on what events were going on in the surrounding area which made me feel very connected to the surrounding community. After introductions, they were very respectful of privacy, and only reached out if there were important updates to be shared. They're proximity to the main hiking areas is so ideal, and its such a short drive into town to stock up on supplies if need be (hardware store, groceries, gas ect.). Lori and Roy even arranged an outing with myself and fellow campers, and drove us to a local brewery to enjoy some local beer, pizza and live music. such a fun experience! hope to be back soon!

The open secluded space provided was amazing and having firewood on site was top notch. Very beautiful view to wake up too and the trails were great and the trees was so beautiful. Would definitely come back again!! The host was great and showed us where our campsite was when we got there late, 😅 she was nice to wait up. They have hot showers which was great and a cute little farmers market where she had the veggies and eggs there to purchase. Plus there were cows there to see, so cute! Thanks again and would definitely come back again!!

My family (7 year old daughter, husband and dog) had the most wonderful time tent camping at the Hops site on Heather and Paul's beautiful farm. It's such a special, expansive place with so many cool spots to hike to within the farm that we didn't feel like we needed to leave the property. We loved the peace and privacy of the Hops site but next time we'd like to try to Oak tree site which has stunning views. My daughter loved drinking directly from the spring behind Heather's house, and visiting the pergola near dusk. The highland cows against the backdrop of rolling hills and the beautiful slate structures look like paintings. I'd definitely recommend taking the tour of the property to orient yourself. Heather is a lovely person and a knowledgeable and engaging host.

Ken hosts one of the most incredible campsites I’ve had the pleasure of staying at, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s one of the kindest souls I’ve met too! Make sure to bring a camera when you visit, the view is not something you’ll want to forget, nor the beautiful sites around the campground. This is a must-stay, and I won’t be surprised if Ken ends up being booked year-round!!! (Also, we recommend a car with higher suspension and four wheel drive as to make the trip up to the lean-to easier!) Thanks Ken :)

Stayed at the Oak Tree Site on Heather’s land and I can’t recommend it enough! The site the peaceful, secluded, and on the opposite side of the road and up the hill away from the main farmhouse and other sites. The site had a picnic table, fire pit, a grate to cook over the fire, a charcoal grill, and an outhouse. The site is an open area with a beautiful view of the Milky Way on a clear night. Make sure you’re driving a 4x4 vehicle up to the site - bit of a climb. Heather is a lovely host and is available for any questions or recommendations - lovely hiking trails onsite (go sit at the quarry!)

Ken’s site is just perfect. To die for view. Very nice lean to with a hammock where we stood our tent. Clear instructions. He sent a map and called to make sure we will settle good. You need a four wheel vehicle to get close to the lean to. Otherwise, there’s a nice campsite near the bathhouse as well. We loved our stay here. Felt super safe. And the outhouse is very accessible too if you need to go in the middle of the night. Thank you, Ken!

Excellent stay! Beautiful spot, nice and quiet. We spent a decent amount of time just reading books with the windows open. Close to everything. Fire pit was nice, also had a charcoal grill you could use. Would love to stay again, highly recommend!
