The entire tent and vestibule are on a raised deck - off the ground. Private fire pit and picnic table by the pond. No pets allowed. Only 8 miles from downtown Marquette and 35 miles from Munising and the Pictured Rock National Lakeshore. A short 5 minute walk to a lovely sand beach on Lake Superior. Bathroom and shower are located at the Gitche Gumee RV Park entrance 100 yards from the tent. No smoking, cooking or open flame in the tent or tent platform. Firepit for reasonable fires.

Weekend Trip to Acorn Trail

I surprised my husband with our stay at the Cabin Tent. To say he was pleased would be an understatement. The owners were exceptionally accommodating of our late check-in. They gave great directions to the site. We had opted for the bedding upgrade and found the bed made up with extra blankets at the foot of the bed in case we needed them. They had even set up the fire pit for us, so all we had to do was light it after we arrived. Our only disappointment was that we couldn’t stay longer. We would definitely stay here again.

Easy check in with very kind owners. The yurt is really well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. We loved the fire pit area and enjoyed the area and overall peace and quiet. Wonderful stay, we’d love to come back!

Weekend Trip to Bear Woods Resort

Everything went well!! I love to travel and when I tell you I deeply appreciate when the accommodations exceed expectations! The pics and the descriptions do not do this camp ground and resort justice. We stayed in the yurts. Reserved both for 4 days. My site was for myself and my dog. My sister had her 2 boys next door. Reserving was easy, the owner was quick to respond to questions and even had propane stoves ready for us at the covered pavilion. We ended up not using them because we brought a charcoal grill. I can’t say enough about how clean and just how meticulous everything was from the bathroom, to the playground, to the trails, and the yurts them selves were OUTSTANDING. My boyfriend and I are looking at dates to go in the fall. And my girlfriends and I are looking at dates to go next month.

Weekend Trip to Acorn Trail

This was a great experience and we can't wait to come back! We went up on the motorcycle and having everything ready for us like the bed and plenty of wood for a fire and of course the ice cold water was great! It rained on Saturday so we were lazy and napped and read a book and it was so peaceful. Falling asleep to the owls and waking to the trees made this trip one for the books. Robert and his wife were great hosts and the tent is so much bigger than we expected!

Everything was absolutely wonderful! I chose to take a solo trip for the weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday, and I am so grateful that I did! They were very friendly and helpful, check-in was easy and maps were provided for the couple minute drive to site. The international dark sky park is about a half hour away and it was just absolutely stunning, I would highly recommend visiting that on your trip as well. The tent was large and very comfortable, the wood stove and bonfire space were both a lot of fun to use. It was the perfect getaway to the woods, and I will most definitely be back in the future 😄

Such nice and friendly people to deal with! The cabin is wonderful, pretty much an open-air hotel room (with screens of course). Camping with a comfy bed. I’ve been there twice now and will be back again.

Glamping tent was great! Comfy bed, nice to have water cooler, microwave and chairs on front porch. Maybe bring a lantern and a fan if its hot. Shower house was a great addition, however cold water, which was OK cause it was 90 degrees out. They are still working on it though, so maybe they are planning to add water heater. Enjoyed walking in the woods on the trails. Sat on porch at Portage Point resort and ate pizza for dinner, ate ice cream by Portage lake at a park. Enjoyed breakfast by the lake at Lakeside Cafe. Beautiful grounds. Cabins looked cute as well. Would definitely come again!
