Our 2 acre property and house is located in the center of the small town of Leverett. We have two sites, a private camping spot located down by the stream, and a yurt at the edge of the yard. We are near a paved road with moderate traffic.
The property abuts many acres of woods and there are a number of great walking trails nearby. A half-mile walk behind the house takes you through the forest to an outlook on Leverett Pond.
The Peace Pagoda is just a few miles up the road. Other nearby destinations include Cushman Market and Cafe, the Montague Bookmill, and Mt. Toby waterfall, caves, and lookout tower.
Leverett Pond has a public boat launch nearby. We have canoes, paddles, and lifejackets available for rent--inquire for details!
The area has excellent bike riding as well. We enjoy all these activities and are happy to share further destinations, routes, and suggestions!

Our property is 85 very private acres with an open field surrounded by forest and open wooded area with many trails. The forest is very diverse including some old growth maples and birches, as well as hemlock and pine trees. The campsites are at the edge of the field set back into the woods. I have recently added sand and gravel to improve drainage since the heavy rain we have had last year. We have a portable composting toilet outhouse and a hot outdoor shower. Feel free to explore all of the trails on foot or mountain bike. You may see some turkeys or deer out there. There is a small pond with lots of frogs and salamanders near the camping area, and a few seasonal streams on the property. You can hike a one mile loop on our newest trail. It is medium difficulty because of the hillside it is built on so hiking boots are recommended unless you are on a mountain bike. Rock walls built in the mid 1800s circle the property almost entirely so the borders are easy to see.
The Deerfield river is a few miles away where you can fish for trout or go for a swim or kayak. The Connecticut river and the green river are about 15 minutes away as well. We have tubes, a canoe, and a kayak that are available to rent for some floating! Historic Deerfield village and Yankee Candle store and factory are about 10 minutes away. We are about 20 minutes from Northampton and Amherst.

Located in northern Connecticut, right up there by Massachusetts, Tunxis State Forest is wild and remote. The trees here are some of the oldest around, since it was already wooded when it became owned by the state in 1923. Most other forests were only just growing into what they are now from abandoned farms.
You never know what you might see in Tunxis State Forest, although we can give you some ideas. If you go for a hike through these old trees, you might spy a moose munching on foliage, or a black bear bumbling about. If that hike happens to be the Falls Brook trail, then you will certainly see a beautiful waterfall.

In 1686, Captain Samuel Ruggles and seven men purchased this land from the Nipmuck people for twenty British pounds. His grandson, Brigadier General Timothy Ruggles, became a notorious Loyalist — driven from Hardwick at dawn by his own brother Benjamin, who warned him: “Cross today and you will never cross again alive.” His daughter Bathsheba became the first woman executed in the newly independent United States, for murdering her husband — told in Murdered by His Wife by Deborah Navas.

Listen to the gentle brook and barred owls while nestled into the woods of Ashfield, MA on a small herbal homestead. The forest hut is a screened in platform that is lovely for camping on a warm summer's night. It has large windows and screens to keep out the bugs while enjoying a cool mountain breeze. There is a newly built composting toilet on site and small fire pit. This is not a cabin, no electricity, running water or plumbing. The bunk house is on the lower part of the pond, making it more accessible as parking is right at the door.
There are private camp sites for guests who prefer to pitch a tent or park their van or RV. There's a portable toilet on site seasonally for guests staying on the lower half of the farm.
We can accommodated small respectful groups of campers looking for a quiet stay in nature. It's a great spot for local Scout Troops to pitch their tents and explore nature. Message for more information.

There are two farm dogs, Viola and Jackson at Wilder Hill Gardens. They are friendly, well trained and mostly work along side me. But they do have free range of the farm and if anyone in your party has a fear or dislike of dogs this is probably not the best choice for you.
We have PYO fresh fruit, vegetables, cut flowers, eggs, and all of our nursery stock for sale in season. There is a newly built garden shop and art gallery with a 12 Ft. Mosaic made of thousands of handmade porcelain pieces.

It was super peaceful camping at Turtle Bend Farm. I tent camped for two nights here. Although the train did wake me up several times the first night, it did not bother me the second. The area is beautiful with several great day hikes nearby, and I saw so many birds in the field especially in the early morning.

Very kind and helpful host. She went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed for a pleasant stay, including offering me some organic vegetables from their garden. They only accept one Hipcamper at a time so it was private and quiet. They have full hookups on site including sewer which is rare for a Hipcamp location in my experience. All in all, if you need a base in Central Massachusetts, this is one to consider for sure.

Weekend Trip to Atland Artist Residency
We loved the cabin! there were other tent/glamp sites nearby, and the communal sink with well water was right outside the cabin too. We got to use the wood-heated hot tub - Tori kindly prepared and heated it up in time for our arrival. The tub was a true highlight of the stay, especially with the cool and rainy weather. The trails nearby are worth checking out and we befriended so many newts!

We really enjoyed camping on the farm! So many great experiences in a place that is so obviously well loved and taken care of! Our first stop was the farm store where we stocked up on farm raised steaks, nice big bundles of firewood and they even had a lighter (which we forgot). Even though it rained, the standing tent and the air mattress bunk beds kept us super dry and comfortable. It was like our own perfect country world! 10 out of 10 would recommend. David was great, super responsive and a wonderful host.

Weekend Trip to Winimusett Brook Farm Retreat
I’m so glad we chose this cabin for our trip. The weather was awful, but we didn’t care because we had such a cozy little space that still had beautiful views of the woods around us. The land is gorgeous and there are a lots of fun breweries to check out within 20 minutes and closer. The bed and the linens provided were so comfortable and we slept great. The wood burning stove kept us warm and dry and the propane stove was great for cooking and coffee. You don’t need to bring much to this place!

We stayed at the platform site, and it was great, despite the rain we got! The spot was quiet and private with plenty of space for our city dogs to explore and play in the woods. Two tents fit nicely on the site, one on the platform and one right beside it. The provided propane stove and kitchen equipment came in handy.
We enjoyed a hike to the overlook right from our site along well-marked trails. Baby lambs were an adorable bonus. Dennis and Robyn were very welcoming and friendly. Would return if camping in the area again!

We had a really great day here. The land was beautiful and it was so nice being surrounded by the native plants and flowers. My daughter loved the chicks that were in the hen house. The two campsites on property are close together but we didn’t really hear much noise from the other site. There was a large fire pit and natural benches around the pit. The host, Lilian, was really welcoming and gave us a tour of the property. She was very attentive and kind. She said a new addition to the property was an outdoor shower. We took advantage of that and it was fantastic after a day exploring and fishing. All sorts of wildlife on the property; at night we heard owls which was a highlight. Can’t recommend this campsite enough!

The cabin is incredibly cute and comfortable, on beautiful land. It is well stocked - including nice touches like a hooded cotton robe, comfy bedding, a tiny coffee maker, a headlamp, and a tarot deck :) I could imagine that the loft could be difficult for some people to maneuver in and out of if they have any mobility issues, but I found it super cozy.
My favorite thing was the outdoor shower. Wow, so lovely. And the outhouse is even pretty and tastefully decorated! A lounge chair near the cabin would have been really sweet, but overall the stay was absolutely wonderful.
The hosts were welcoming, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend AtLand and hope to return!

I cannot say enough great things about Rosy Goat. My partner and I have camped here two years in a row now and have loved every moment. Everything is extremely well-tended and all of the animals so sweet (not to mention the delicious eggs that we bought from the chickens and ducks!). This stay was amazing! John was a great host! His communication and responsiveness were excellent. The camping spot is great, right by the pond. There is a walk to the campsite; we brought a wagon to help get equipment from the car to the site. There are also a lot of hiking trails near by. We had a good amount of rain on our trip but we had an awesome time and will definitely be back.

Lovely private campsite overlooking a rolling gassy hill surrounded by forests. New picnic table, stone fire pit, mostly covered wood pile provided by host. Would recommend!
