Choose between our extra large tent can hold a family/friend group of up to 8 comfortably, but is also cozy enough for a couple's getaway. Or our sweet-as-can-be tiny A-frame cabin. Our private site is in the middle of a mixed-wood forest. Deer roam free and you will surely hear the call of coyotes and owls at night. Centrally located within 10 minutes of downtown Amherst, 15 minutes to downtown Northampton, this tent is the perfect base camp to access all that this region has to offer. Flea markets and farmers markets on the weekends, malls, museums and numerous restaurants in the area should you decide to venture out for a bite to eat. Holland Glen, a popular hiking spot with waterfalls and swimming holes is a quick 3-minute drive to the trail head. It is an easy 1-mile ride to the start of the Norwotuck Rail Trail a paved bike path through wetlands and rolling farmland. Or simply stay put, unplug, and relax in one of the hammocks or enjoy our one of a kind wood-fired hot tubs! Our guests are welcome to wander around our little homestead have your coffee in the pollinator patch and watch the hummingbirds, butterflies and bees do their thing. Feed the chickens, then nibble your way through our berry patches, fruit trees and gardens and experience what it is like to live simply in New England. A private campsite on the edge of a woodland forest. Deer roam free and you will surely hear the coyotes call at night. Centrally located within minutes of Amherst and Northampton, this tent is the perfect base camp to this vibrant region. Relax in the hammock with a good book, play a rowdy game of corn hole, sip your coffee in our pollinator patch, tell stories by the campfire or rent our projector for the night for a fun in-tent movie! Winter camping is now available! We have an igloo tent for sleeping set up inside our large glamping tent! This inner tent is made for ice fishing in bitter, windy conditions. It has a quilted exterior designed to keep your body heat inside. A small table top heater is also provided for up to 6 hours of heating time. This along with plenty of cozy bedding makes winter camping pleasant. Keep in mind that only the inner sleeping quarters is heated.

Fern Gully Sanctuary is an absolute gem! It is a tiny off-grid A-frame cabin in the middle of a pristine woodland forest. You will fall asleep looking at the stars and wake up to a chorus of songbirds! (yes you can see the stars through the skylight above the bed!) If you are looking for quiet solitude this is your place! You will have a 360 degree view of the forest - no houses or roads in view. This site is reserved for solo guests or couples only (no children). This is meant for a place of quiet reflection, a place to unplug and relax. We ask all guests to respect and follow so the posted rules closely so that this beautiful refuge is left natural and undisturbed. Though charming and quaint, this is not a 5-star hotel. Be prepared for bugs, wildlife, and weather. Think of it as upscale camping. The "cabin" was made with 98% salvaged materials, which only adds to the charm. (The roof was once the roof to a greenhouse, the beetle-chewed pine was from a local sawmill, etc.). During summer months you can open the screened in window so that the cool wetland breeze will blow through. Expect a clean outdoor bathroom with composting toilet and pump sink. We will provide lanterns, clean sheets and bedding, and coffee or home-grown tea will be brought out to you in the morning if you choose. -There is a small platform for yoga/meditation amongst the ferns and a yoga mat upon request. ~We suggest you pack light - you will have a walk on a wooded path to get to your cabin. Since all bedding is provided and food/cooking supplies will be kept at the campfire site, your belongings needed for the cabin should fit inside a backpack. Bring your own headlamps/lantern if you have them. The wood-fired hot tubs experience is an excellent add-on to your stay! ($125) *Now that cooler nights are upon us we have added a "Nighttime Warm-Up" option. If you choose this you will have access to an electric cord and a small heater for 12 hours (7PM-7AM). This will warm up the cabin on the coldest nights, but be aware this is still an off-grid cabin and even with the heater it will not be as warm as typical indoor temperatures. ($25)

This is our most private site! Set back on the edge of a wetland forest, you will feel totally immersed in nature. Our brand new bell tent is spacious, clean and comfortably sleeps up to 6 (upon request). This site has a clean composting toilet and covered kitchenette area for making your morning tea, etc. a firepit and wood benches are also on site. A small table and chairs are provided. Sit on the tent porch and soak up the sounds of solitude! This site is about a 2 minute walk from the parking area so please pack lightly. A wagon will be available if needed. Overall a good experience!
Fern Gully Sanctuary
Overall we loved the experience and cabin as well as the location! While we were on our way there Andrea let us know that sadly her assistance for the bathtubs was not going to present and so we would either be refunded or allowed to attempt to get fires going for it ourselves to be able to use the tubs. We came with some fire starters to do this but sadly weren’t completed prepared (also on us) to really get the fires going and it was late so we put it to rest. This was disappointing but all else was great about our stay! The property is very nice to explore and the cabin was adorable. The BBQ was big and can fit food for many. The pancake package was a great touch and we enjoyed the farm fresh eggs and visiting the chickens! We also enjoyed the local Belchertown, some great hiking spots nearby, and had fun exploring the Amherst area which is not far from the site. Would definitely stay again and hopefully experience the tubs at another time!

⭐ 1 out of 5 stars I was not satisfied with my stay at all. I paid nearly $400 and didn’t even stay the full night. The breakfast was provided, but I didn’t eat it because I left early and honestly wasn’t worth the money spent a trip to I hop would’ve been more satisfying then what was in that basket . and the love books that were supposed to be included in my package were never there. I left around 2:30 in the morning, trying to clean up what I could in the dark, but there was no lighting around the area, which made it unsafe and nearly impossible to see. (With the amount charged nothing a nearby Dollar General couldn’t provide a few solar lights for their customers )the sink barely worked, so cleaning dishes wasn’t realistic. The firewood was wet, so cooking was already a struggle, and when I ran out there was no one available to help or respond. For what was advertised as a peaceful, candle-lit getaway, it didn’t come close. There were no candles, broken lights, and the tent wasn’t properly cleaned I was itching from the blankets. The hot tubs were nice, but the lights weren’t even turned on until I reached out. ( candle lit path was a big stretch ) more like a dark path to tubs with no lights Now after all that, I’m being told to pay for the pan and a cleaning fee, even though I didn’t sleep there and was gone before sunrise. Honestly, it feels like a come-up on their end more than a fair experience for the customer. Definitely not worth the price or the stress.

Andrea’s campsite was so well maintained and the tent had a very nice bed and was sososo cozy. There was loads of fire wood and everything was just so nice! Would definitely recommend this campsite for anyone looking to get away

The hut was very clean, quiet, and scenic. The site is really peaceful and private, yet close to all the activities that we wanted to do, like hiking and strolling Northampton. The spotlight of this place was the hot tub!! It was amazing to be in the hot tub in the woods. I felt 100 times more relaxed than those jacuzzi filled with chemically treated water. We will definitely be back!

The Woodland tent was exactly what out group of friends needed. It was quiet and secluded. It was a very hot weekend and we were provided a battery fan which was just perfect! After seeing the hot tub setup, we wished it was a cooler weekend so we could take advantage. The location was far enough from things to feel remote, but close enough that we could grab food (pans/grates were provided at the site but we wanted an easy trip). We loved going to Puffer Pond to swim & walk. Explored a bit on trails nearby too. Our host was very kind and accomodating. There were the cutest chicks too!

Wonderful, magical vibe. Warm, kind, easy-going host. Owls and other critters singing at night. How wonderful. But the beds? Terribly uncomfortable. (Come for some magic, not a good night's rest)

I can't tell you how grateful I was for Andrea (and her whole family)'s hospitality. We were through-hiking the Robert Frost Trail and ran into some weather and other issues. We arrived terribly late at night, soaking wet, with nonfunctional phones. I don't want to describe all the "trail magic" they provided because I don't want to set unreasonable expectations for future campers. But my friend and I would not have been able to continue our hike the next day without their unexpected kindness and help. My only complaint is that we had to leave fairly early as well and didn't have a chance to properly enjoy this sweet little place! So I hope to come back another time!!

This site was disappointing for a number of reasons, but the one thing you absolutely *must* know before you book is that the host has a rooster about 100 feet from the site that crows through the night— not just in the morning. We were woken up repeatedly though the night by alarmingly loud crowing and had I known that there was a rooster that close to the tent I never would have booked. This listing makes it seem like this is a peaceful wooded oasis, unfortunately that’s not the case. Other issues with the site: - only about half of the items listed as amenities were available at the site. Definitely pack everything you would pack for camping at a remote site and don’t expect to be glamping here. Don’t take anything in this listing as a given. - the tent had a large rip, so bugs get inside at night. So in some ways it’s actually worse than using a regular tent at a totally remote site. Unfortunately we had a lousy time, but if you’re up for the rooster noise, and don’t think of this a glamping experience with extra amenities in any way, you might be okay.

Mossy Glen Bell Tent and Hot Tubs
The Mossy Glen Bell Tent is one of three beautiful campsites here. The area is gorgeous and magical, with fairy-lighted paths leading to the campsites. This was "glamping" in the sense that we did not have to set up our own tent and Andrea set up a double-size cot, an air mattress, and a big bean bag with blankets, pillows, and sleeping bags. I am glad we also brought our own sleeping bags and pillows to add to the bedding options and make it even more comfy. The bell tent itself is like a big army-style tent with a zippered door. We were a group of 3 and had plenty of space. The first night it rained a lot, but we stayed cozy and dry in the tent. The floor is not very even (it's set up on pallets to keep the floor dry and elevated) so be careful walking around. The campsite also featured a covered kitchen structure with counter space and a place to lock up food and trash. Andrea provided a cast iron pan, 3 tin cups, a cutting board, and a glass growler full of water, which she refilled once for us. Bring your own water too. Attached to the kitchen structure is a composting toilet (for poop only, you should pee in the woods). There's also a table, 2 plastic chairs, a bench, and a fire pit. Andrea provided one bin of firewood for free, and we bought a second bin for $8. This kept our fire going all day! There is a huge expanse of beautiful, magical forest right behind this site that we explored for hours. This place is amazing; highly recommend! Andrea is a great host!

This was the best camp trip! The tent was so nice to avoid the poor weather and the host was so accommodating with beds and firewood for our group. We got the egg package and made fresh eggs for breakfast

Backyard adjacent bliss

Andrea was a great host to us during our short weekend stay. The space is homey and quiet despite being in a residential neighborhood. We felt safe and alone. I booked this site because of the bathtubs and began to feel very hesitant about it since we had a lot of wind, some rain, and it was exactly warm out. Once the time came to enjoy our soak though, it was soooooo worth it. We cut our stay a little bit short due to a steady increase of critters trying to get out of the rain but none the less had a wonderful time. We spent our days skipping around the local towns and buying everything in sight both edible and not. We’re leaving with full cars and bellies.

My group who stayed at Andrea’s glampsite had such a great time. Andrea was communicative, attentive and friendly. She made sure we had everything we needed. The hot tub experience was just magical, and the fire pit was perfect to cook a meal over and gather around. We loved how close this campsite was to town, yet it also felt like a little private getaway from it all. The tent itself was spacious yet cozy. What a special time and space. Highly recommend!

This site is such a magical place! The Fern Gully Sanctuary cabin is adorable and had everything we needed. It got pretty chilly on our second night but Andrea was so kind and brought us some extra blankets to make sure we stayed warm. It was also the perfect mix of wilderness and civilization for an impromptu fall camp trip!

What a great spot! We loved the feeling of privacy combined with Andrea’s unique offerings (wood-fired hot tubs, move nights) and the accessibility to Amherst and other nearby towns. Not to mention the sweet chickens that wandered our way one morning and spent time clucking around us. Andrea is attentive and communicative over message and set up the tent space with bedding ahead of time. We went in the fall, and brought our own sleeping bags as well which was a must, but it was nice that Andrea had supplied extra sleeping bags and blankets as well (in addition to water and firewood).

We had really fun in andrea place. We got there little late so couldn’t do much things and hard time finding the area. It was a great place in really private area. Direction to cabin was really hard so it’s better to get there early and meet host or else you will get lost like us. It took us 1 hour to find the cabin. Overall it was great experience

Our first night was a total downpour and we stayed warm and dry. The car was parked close and easy to access. Anyone that reads this should make sure to take a light/camp lantern/head lamp, etc. I might have missed it in the description, but I don't think one was provided. Host was nice, directions were clear, and we were happy.

We had a very nice and relaxing stay at Andrea’s. The woods are beautiful and the hot tubs were really great. We got the pancake breakfast, which included homemade maple syrup and homemade tea. Both were so good and we recommend staying here.

Overall we had a good time but it is not what we expected. I wouldn't call it glamping but pre-set up camping. There was a few amenities that were listed that they did not have. But it was still pleasant and the people were pleasant

We very much enjoyed our stay at Andrea's site. We were passing through MA on our way home from Acadia, and it happened to be quite a rainy evening. The lovely tent kept us all warm and dry. We'd love to visit again with more time.

I had a great time and really enjoy the location, unfortunately my girlfriend wasn’t so comfortable. It be nice if she could be more transparent about the air mattress, the outlet didn’t work , there was also very little wood available to keep the fire on for the whole night. Me personally I would definitely come back since I know what to expect, but my girlfriend not so much. We also felt for the price that should have put in more effort.

Much needed getaway

Don't let any negative comments prevent you from booking. I packed too much stuff because someone said that this listing was misrepresentative. I have no idea what they are talking about. I didn't end up needing any of it. I've also owned a canvas tent before, so I know how absolutely impossible it is to keep from getting spots. The bed was super comfy (not broken), yes the spot is in a neighborhood, but it felt really private, I didn't see anyone the entire time, and Andrea was also really helpful and communicative. BOOK THE TUBS I spent like four hours in them. The movie package was also awesome. I recommend bringing a Roku device to use with it. Overall it was the peace that I was looking for and more. I would definitely stay at this site again.

This site was so cool! Andrea's land was beautiful and it was the perfect size for my kids to explore. My daughter and her friend played on the slide built into the hill SO much. My one year old loved exploring the trails. There were chickens, roosters, and an adorable bunny we got to meet. At night we could hear coyotes, an owl, and so many birds. Fireflies surrounded the edges of our site at dusk and I could even see them sparkling above the tent from time to time. We stayed here on a pretty hot day, but it got surprisingly cold during the night. Andrea supplied more than enough bedding and a big bucket of firewood. There were pots/pans for cooking and boiling water. The sink by the outhouse was very helpful. This was my first time bringing my children camping and I would highly recommend it. We had enough privacy to really feel like we were in the woods, but the kids were definitely comforted knowing we were near someone's house. This site was the perfect sweet spot in between campground camping and totally on your own (no utilities) camping.

Fern Gully Sanctuary
This cabin is already such a cozy space, but Andrea’s love for her land is what makes this a sanctuary. She was a wonderful host and attentive to our needs while giving us plenty of privacy. You could tell from all the details inside and outside how much she cared about her hand-built cabin. We highly recommend the hot tubs add on package. Never been more relaxed! Thank you for our stay.

Fun, but not as advertised
Woodland's Edge Glamping Campsite
Our group had fun camping here, but the campsite is misrepresented in the listing. It is not really “glamping”, save for the large tent that’s already set up. The tent is not as pictured on the listing and we found some old, broken cots instead of the beds that are pictured. The tent definitely needs a good power washing and does not zip shut. The hot tubs are a nice addition but one is a normal size and one is very small. I’m not sure that was worth paying for the add-on. The “dishwashing station” mentioned in the listing is just an old sink with a foot pump where you can barely get water to trickle out. We could not wash dishes in this. Also, it would have been helpful if the host mentioned up front that this campsite is about 30 feet behind her neighbor’s house.
