the cabin is in winter mode and has limit water, please bring all the water you need. if you forget or need more the can supply water when we are available to do so. Our cabin is an off grid (very limited power, now way to charge or plug in AC devices) post and beam structure that we built 8 years ago. It's has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There are jugs provided for doing dishes etc and a large (150 gallon) tank outside for refills. There are a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show. All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. WELCOME to Happy Hippie Lane Maine! Get your "groove" on or hang loose here on a precious little island with a big bridge just off route one in the heart of Midcoast. Hundreds of guests report the perfect balance of upbeat fun and chill time and call our place and hospitality "magic", "amazing" and "holy guacamole!" It is a lovely spot just off the beaten path but close enough to access the frey. :) I welcome my guests personally and have likely had a chat before you booked. I like to know what your hopes and priorities are around your stay before I accept so I can meet both of our needs. When you arrive, I will greet you and share a little history/tour of the place. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show. All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go. There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours! Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens. This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. Stuart Little’s dream house is an off-grid cabin on the edge of the woods, in the backyard of our home. The cabin is perfect for people who are camping, but want a little more accommodation. Weekend Trip to Four Acre Woods Island Campground

We absolutely loved our stay at Four Acre Woods Campground. If anything we wish we had stayed longer! The campsite was out on a very quiet island, truly not too far from our outings. We stayed on the primitive secluded site which was absolutely perfect. It was very spacious, with tons of privacy, located steps away from the community cabin. We wish we had more time to enjoy the community cabin as it was warm, filled with books, games, cookware, utensils, lanterns, ice, tea, coffee, local guides and cozy sofas. Our campsite additionally had a private walk way to the bathrooms, which we were pleasantly surprised by for a campsite! The shower was equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body wash if needed, and the bathroom was as clean as you could possibly expect a campsite bathroom to be! Firewood was easy to purchase and bring over to our campsite which we appreciated. The hosts were very kind and helpful and we truly hope to be back again next year to hopefully spend a much longer stay at the four acre woods and get a chance to experience the onsite sauna :) thanks so much for having us! Would 110% recommend. (Ps. Just beware of deer and wildlife on the drive in, it is deer isle after all ;) )

While I didn't personally get to enjoy my overnight stay here due to unforeseen circumstances with my car, Ashley was responsive and also very helpful with my campsite. I was able to get in without any issues, as the instructions were very clear. When my car broke down on the way to a hike after I had set up my campsite, Ashley was willing tear everything down and store it off to the side for me. I am very grateful that there are still good people in the world, and just based on this experience with Ashley, I would highly recommend staying here!

What a great place to retreat! Michael was fantastic and his property is beautiful. We loved our stay but had to leave a night early due to work reasons, but will definitely look at staying here again in the future. 10/10 would recommend.
