We do not have bath or shower houses, or a pool, but we do have laundry facilities on site. There are showers within 2 miles at the Pilot gas station on I-65. This ecological art project is currently recruiting visitors to camp in beautiful fields, on woodland rim sites, or at delicate campsites located along a system of woodland trails. As of 2025, camping here provides a glimpse into the fourth year of succession. This current phase is characterized by spacious views of a gently rolling young prairie contrasted with the rocky and steep slopes of the mature forest. Most likely a good fit for self-sufficient types that like campsites with generous spacing, but still want to get out to the park quickly (~7 miles to the Visitors Center) or travel into Cave City (3 mi) for coffee/ice-cream/pizza/barbecue/bar/food/etc. Expand from the campsite into a sketch-work of trails, as if were camping near the headquarters of a satellite nature reserve. All sites except Spicebush have a filtered water output. Spicebush campers will have water access next to parking. Camping funds allow us to plant trees (~525 seedlings as of March 2025), establish prairie grasses and flowers, restore wetlands, create trails, and remove invasive species. If you have only 2 days, a nice way to experience Mammoth Cave NP is to break the trip into 3 layers, covering the underworld (cave tours), upper world (hiking), and the water that connects the two (Green River kayaking). Mammoth Cave is unique in the way that a study of the underworld will repeatedly draw the mind into a creative space of imagining what is beneath the surface, how these worlds are connected, while navigating park land and water. Note that we offer kayak trips that can be tailored to your schedule and travel constraints. Thanks to our visitors for supporting this type of project! Bundles of dried and split firewood are available onsite, usually a mix oak with a suggested donation of $6/bundle, delivered to the campsite. Kayaks are hosted on a suggested donation basis ($45), providing a flexible option for visitors to float the Green River through the national park. Pending availability, we offer tent setups as well to folks who want to camp but aren't traveling with gear (REI 4 person Half Dome). Tent setup comes with two sleeping pads (you will need pillows, blankets, etc.).

I find it peaceful here and can easily ignore it but I'm mentioning it so your not surprised by it ;) The Neighbors dog may come visit while you are here but is very nice and leaves if you tell him to :) You are welcome to hang a hammock in a small section of woods, by a small pond, or even on my covered porch. You are welcome to pitch a tent anywhere you like. You are welcome to park an RV or vehicle in the drive. The drive is about 250ft long, you would need to back in in order to hook up to the 50 amp plug. RV's can use the 50 amp plug (30 amp will need an adapter. I have one you can use if you don't own one of your own) and hose for water. I have an outdoor shower and a camping toilet. I am ... - one hour from Lexington, Louisville, Elizabethtown, and Frankfort.- 1 mile from a mini mart with Gas, Ice, Pizza, Chicken Wings, Sandwiches, ect.- 6 miles from Dollar General and A pizza Restaurant - 15 ish miles from Wal-mart and other chain stores and restaurants I'm a great travel guide so feel free to tell me what your in town for or things you like to do. I will happily make you up a list of things to do and see and places to eat. Keenland, Churchill Downs, The Bourbon Tour (Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, and many others) are within an hour of here. Also within an hour are 2 great bike paths, wonderful hiking and kayaking. As well as Great Shopping and Restaurants. Anything your heart desires. Using GPS Directions i would suggest avoiding Tunnel Mill Rd and Murphy Lane if towing a camper or driving an RV.

We are constantly improving our land and are expanding our horse boarding as we do so. Close to Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace , Mcdougal Lake and the main square in Hodgenville which has cute little restaurants and places to walk During summer there are lots of wild blackberries to pick on the perimeter of the pasture (this is usually June-July only). We are bordered on woods so camping can be done in the trees as well or in our nice open area right as soon as you come up the drive. Outside our barn/house we have water and electric outlets as needed. In the open area or the woods there are several trees that can be used for a hammock as well. We do have a large fire pit near our house and a ton of wood fires can be started as long as we are not under a burn ban if we are having a dry summer or fall. In our camping field we have a smaller black fire pit for use . The pastures are set back from the woods so feel free to walk the perimeter of them. We do have 2 farm dogs that are super friendly and gentle. If you have an RV it’s easier to enter into the 1575 entrance and pull through

10/10! I really recommend this place! I lived here for 1 month and I loved it. Trisha is very nice and the location is perfect. You got 10 minutes drive to all the stores you might need. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. There is nothing to complain about!

This is a great spot for a stop! Location is perfect for Mammoth Caves. The grass in the lawn was great for kids running around, Aswell as all the trails cut out around the property to explore. Kevin was responsive and friendly. Would stay here again!

I stayed here a whole month and it was great! 10/10 would recommend! I hope it's available in the spring when I'm back in this town. The place is easy to park in I got a 33 long travel trailer. It's a quiet neighborhood, close to all the stores. They are really nice people to deal with. I have nothing bad to say about this place! I love it.

Weekend Trip to Bourbon Trail Campground

I can't say enough good things about this place and the hosts. Everyone mentions how friendly the hosts are and it's not an exaggeration. The property is beautiful and great to spend some time on. Close to several distilleries that you have heard of and several you haven't. Come here, stay here, love it.

This was an awesome experience! The animals were amazing, we were right on the water, we rented kayaks, we hiked, and we ate good! 10/10 you should definitely book this spot!

Our stay was awesome! The owner had free firewood to use for the firepits and every question we had was answered promptly. I will say there are no showers yet, so there’s a pilot about an hour away or a planet fitness in Columbia if you have the black card. Other than that it was great, super quiet. Lots of long term stayers. Very chill, would recommend!!

Leslie was very accommodating. She met us upon arrival. She was very pleasant. She has a nice farm. We got some good fire wood and farm fresh eggs. It felt very private, which was good. We spent almost a week there. It was very relaxing 🔥🌜⭐

Went great, had no issues pulling in or leaving. Full gravel property. Dogs did good. Their animals didn’t bother us, they’re behind the barn. 50 amp & residential plug available as well as two water spigots.

This is the perfect spot, especially when you’re like me (new to the camper lifestyle, 24y/o) and have been driving for 8 hours only to realize that you didn’t overlap your days to check out from an old campsite and into your new site- on the same day. We were 30 minutes from the site we booked for the NEXT day, and not the day we had needed it. Allison’s property came in SERIOUS HANDY. Other HipCamp properties were available, but needed a 24 hr window to book. Then I found Allison. Our angel from God himself. Instant booking. $45 after taxes/fees. Best $45 we HAVE EVER SPENT. Cheaper and more private than a hotel, better than a Walmart parking lot. There’s a 50 amp hookup, and on the other side of that there is a residential plug in too. Two water spigots which came in handy too when we hadn’t expected to need them. The horses were chill, didn’t bug us. Only weird vibe we got was when we were setting up when we got there because in the large open field in front of the barn (we got there at dark so I couldn’t see) I heard an animal making a weird whimpering noise, high pitch. I asked about coyotes which they technically do have but anyway we were fine like they keep their horses outside, so it’s safe. Their dog was chill, stayed up by the house. Our two dogs didn’t even care, not sure if they realized they had a dog. They were great there. I will say if you have dogs though that the spot is on gravel so fur baby paws could be sensitive to it. But yeah, worth your money!

Weekend Trip to Beardsnest

Kevin was super helpful with instructions and letting us know about the trails and features on the property. We had our area of land behind the barn to ourselves and enjoyed listening to the birds in the morning. His pups were sweet and hung out while we made breakfast outside. Would love to stay again the next time we are in the area.

Weekend Trip to Wildcat Creek Farm in Tyrone

Absolutely fantastic stay! The kids roamed free and loved the animals. We hiked up the creek, which was so gorgeous and found the “witch’s” shed. Kevin was such a lovely host. We enjoyed getting to know him and the pets! We will definitely be back in the summer to swim in the creek and river.

We really enjoyed our stay on this beautiful land with friendly and welcoming hosts. We experienced 3.75 inches of rainfall in a 24 hour period so were grateful to be offered a spot on the gravel. Very close to anything you might need with lots to see nearby. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time. It was quiet and beautifully maintained. We had asked for wood and it was raining when we arrived. Kevin was thoughtful enough to leave the wood under a wheel barrow and message us about it. The communication was great and it was conveniently close to Mammoth Cave.
